Just got my Xconverter 360 in the mail and tested it out with an Hrap2 and Blazblue. Great stuff! And for only $30 is just plain awesome.
Don’t suppose you have a rockband drum set laying around to check with, do you? I’ve seen the guitars work as a bypass , and see no reason why the drum kit would be different, just wanted to see if I could get confirmation first.
No apologies necessary because knowledge is POWER! :china:
Yep, I think people posted enough info to satiate my curiousitinessitivity. I got a pm back from Rekless too and he’s gonna help me make my own. Thanks Dood!
Sorry, all I have is a guitar and a wired controller.
Cool, I’d like to know how complicated it gets. Keep me posted some way.
Hmm, I’ll test it out then, I’m ordering from Laugh in a couple of days. I’ll be sure to report, though I don’t see it being an issue.
Well seeing as how a few of you wanted to see my project box when it was done…BEHOLD ITS GREATNESS!!!

Ok so this is only a temporary project box. The PCB is one of the Xbox 360 Wired X-Plorer Guitars from Guitar Hero (The White Axe looking one). I want to get a real project box and probably shorten the wire length significantly to like 6 inches or so. But so far this beats the hell out of lugging a guitar around!!
Edit:
Oh and the X-Plorer Guitar works as a bypass for the Joytron X360 Converter seeing as this is the converter thread. The Rock Band microphone unfortunately does not…that useless peripheral!
My ReKleSS Saturn to PS2 came in today. It works perfectly with the new Xconverter 360 (PS2 to 360). Yay! I’ll try and update the OP tomorrow.
Nice! And I’m so jealous. :arazz:
Hahaha, SWEET! Blockbuster FTW!
That is pretty lame, stupid mic :lame:, but also good to know
Yup yup, we’ve been shooting a couple e-mails back and forth, I might make a work log thread or something in tech talk. He’s gonna help me with getting my feet wet in programming, which is pretty awesome, awesome guy
Still testing more sticks with the XConverter360… Will finish up my review soon.
I’m testing with Virtua Fighter 5, Soulcalibur IV, Street Fighter IV, HD Remix, and an unnamed title.
hey guys i have an inpin and i’m using a MAS with a new P360, the stick is for ps2 and dc. on the ps2 the stick works great. when i play on the ps3 it’s terrible. almost none of the angles hit. is this common?
Got the data page set up, this is where the review will be within the next few days:
you dont happen to have a MC Cthulhu PS2 stick do you? i was wondering if the converter worked with it or not. I figured any stick i put a cthulhu into now will just be ps2, and ill use converters.
That’d be great if the converter works with the PS2 support on the MC Cthulu. I’d rather use a converter than to throw in a 360 pad PCB into any of my sticks.
Alright I got my XConverter all set up. I took the Guitar Hero X-Plorer PCB and put it in a project box which you can see is plugged in and acts as a bypass. My stick is set up like the HRAP2 layout and thus for SFIV purposes, Controller Layout A works with setting 1 on the XConverter. Seems to be working pretty well thus far and I don’t notice any lag.
I’m pretty sure you can get the Xplorer guitar pretty cheap from ebay through bids (Don’t do those buy it nows for like $20+ because i’m pretty sure you could probably get it for liek $10 if you bid)
That looks nice Gigazord! Very clean indeed and looks like it’s pretty easy to carry around. Out of curiosity though, what are the dimensions of an X-plorer guitar PCB? Your project box looks a bit bigger than waht I thought it was going to be.
It looks bigger in the picture than it really is.
The project box that I got was 6x3x2" It fits perfectly width wise but could definetely be shorter. Without opening it up, I would say a 4x3x2 would have been more ideal (not even sure they make those).
Hey guys, so we have an inPin PS3 -> PS2 converter laying around. My brother got it originally to use it for the PC, but it didn’t work. Now that we have a PS3, the converter actually doesn’t work at all.
Is it possible to fix this? My brother might’ve picked it up from the person who sells it here (laugh?)… does he take back defects for replacement/refunds? =D
resres, your post tells us nothing that can help us help you. You’re missing too many key pieces of information we need to give you a hand. For instance, what kind of controllers or arcade sticks were you using the inPin with? What make and model of PCB does your arcade stick have? We need to know this info to give you a hand. In fact, depending on the answers to the above, you might find it’s not even defective. :wonder:
Also, Gigazord, you’re right; that’s actually quite a bit smaller than the image made me believe. Alright, looks like I’m going to have to hunt me down one of these X-plorer guitars to gut and project box.
Tried it with Dualshock (PS2) and a HRAP, so whatever PCB that comes with that stick… Tried both USB ports. Nada. Nothing lights up on the inPin (and pressing the PS button on it doesn’t do anything) and none of the buttons respond. I only posted this now, because we just assumed that it didn’t work with PCs… until we got a PS3 and found out it just doesn’t work at all.
