Nope, I haven’t noticed any problems when doing that.
That is really weird Truckasaurus. I could’ve sworn that a lot of people on these forums in the last converter thread claimed these worked for the XFPS line of converters. I might have to make amends to my previous post regarding controller bypass compatibility depending on your results. :xeye:
By this point I bet you read GameCop’s little review of the Xconverter 360 so unfortunately, the answer to this is no. I’ve just tried to do the same on my Mayflash Max Shooter (another PlayStation X to Xbox 360 converter) and it didn’t work there either. I’d assume it’s the same case with the XFPS converters as well since the Mayflash is a clone of it after all. Sorry pakistexican88; However, I can’t imagine that wireless headsets would not work with these things. I don’t have one to test with, but considering that there’s no headset input at all, I don’t think that anything should inhibit syncing a wireless headset to this converter.
Can someone confirm this? I want to know if you can use a wireless headset with the converter because I do a lot of online play with friends and it sucks to not be able to chat with them.
I have a pelican ps2 to PS3 converter and a masstick super pro stick with dc ps2 and xbox360 cables. And i want to test the stick for lag. How can i do that?
Do any of the PS2-360 convertors work backwards too?
I have a HRAP EX for 360 and I would like to use it on a PS2.
If that works I can get PS2 adapters for Gamecube (wii) and PS3.
Any luck there?
Want to avoid gutting my whole stick cause it’s not common ground.
Sentinels Force, there is a lag tester application for Windows in the first post of this thread. I don’t see why you’d need to test your stick for lag though; PlayStation 2 MAS Systems arcade sticks work just fine with Pelican converters, which are lagless as proven dozens of times by such faces as MarkMan.
chaos123x, sorry, but there isn’t (and probably never will be) any USB (be it Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, or any other device) to previous gen console converters. The manufacturing cost for one of those things would be unrealistically high and that’s not even considering lag or anything. Sorry to say, but the best option you’ve got here is either modding your stick or buying a PlayStation 2 stick.
Unfortunately, gutting this stick is pretty much the only option. I ended up gutting my HRAP EX completely and converting it to a project box-style setup, though you could also use a Madcatz PCB + PS2 Dual Shock PCB dual mod inside the case, I just wanted to be able to make it compatible with whatever system I wished.
got my ps2 to 360 converter from laugh today!
works perfect with my mas stick that has a digital ps1 board in it!
I thought so. But the reason i asked was because i just got the PSN version of MvC2 and wanted to rule out that my stick or converter werre the problem with that major button input lag i see in the game
Sentinels Force, does it really lag? I didn’t know that. I’ve been rocking out on the Xbox 360 version so I haven’t noticed. I have no clue why the PlayStation 3 has all these glitches whenever Backbone and Capcom release a game on PSN. :xeyed:
I’ve got some peculiar findings. Had some time to do some more testing. It might be I’m having issues with the PSX on the MC Cthulhu I’m using.
I know it has confirmed functionality with the innovation converter for PSX->DC but the innovation I was using wouldn’t work with my PSX MC Cthulhu. I plugged the MC Cthulhu PSX into my total control plus EMS converter and it worked absolutely fine! Strange.
Using a PSone DS Type H, I used the blazepro converter and used a Mad Catz 360 TE stick as the piggyback controller. Everything worked great, no lag, and no dropped inputs, just playing for 15 minutes everything was running perfect.
Still had issues with the PSX MC Cthulhu and the blazepro. Could just be the MC Cthulhu I’m using? I’ll use a different MC Cthulhu again tonight, hopefully it’s just issues with this one i’m using right now, and it won’t happen if I try it on a different PSX MC Cthulhu
That might explain why I couldn’t use the Rockband guitar as a piggyback, so don’t make amends on your bypass info just yet! Now I have to go to class :crybaby:
Damn, I read over your post about 50 times before too, yet I didn’t see the answer right in my face.
for the blazepro, my madcatz fightpad had to be plugged into the converter before plugging the converter into the 360. i then had to hold down the home and the power on the 360 for it to recognize. it works wonderfully so far with the namco ps1 though.
Whew! Well, on one hand, I’m very pleased to hear that I’m not crazy in thinking that wired Rock Band and Guitar Hero instruments worked as bypass controllers. That’s a relief. On the opposing hand, and where my new distraught comes from, is that you just confirmed a concern that I had when I read drunkninja42’s post a few pages back and I’m almost positive at least one more in this thread that I cannot for the life of me find. Could it be that Toodles’ recent revisions to the Cthulu board have caused it to stop working with our precious Innovation Dream Connection 2 converters?
Haha, relax man; that happens to me all the time when I browse The Sanwa & Seimitsu FAQ.
zeetes, I really gotta thank you for buying all these converters and testing them with your PlayStation 1 Namco Arcade Stick. They’re definitely the greatest retail arcade sticks known to man and I’m absolutely stoked that they’re quickly approaching their 15 year anniversary. Heil Namco! (not Namco-Bandai! :arazz:)
haha my pleasure! i have 5 of them now (and sadly i’m working on acquiring my 6th) so it’s safe to say that i’m big fan. so far it works on the blazepro (waiting on the xconverter360 still), maxshooter (though i haven’t done that much with it honestly), innovation and total control plus dc converters, cube joybox pro (though button mapping is odd for the gc converters), and game elements for the gc. oh and inpin.
Yeah, it kinda disappointed me, especially since the custom I built with the MC Cthulhu PSX setup was a Happ stick for Marvel:sad:
Another question about the PS2 to 360 converters.
Does the pressure sensitivity of the L2 and R2 buttons transfer over as the L and R triggers? (for games like Forza and GT)
Any word on the whole wireless headset thing with a PS2-360 converter?
It does with the Blazepro one, yes. Not tried the Xconverter.
Sorry Gigazord; nobody’s been able to drop in to give a word on it. :xeyed:
laugh actually mentioned a page or two ago that the Xconverter 360 does accurately convert the PlayStation 2’s pressure sensitive triggers to proper analog signals. That is to say, yes, R2 and L2 work just fine as triggers.
Wow, that’s quite a Namco collection you’ve got! I’ve only got one myself and I just have to keep on stressing over what I’m gonna do when one of my buttons die (seriously, they feel MAD nice!). It’s awesome how well the Namco works with these converters though. Proves how good Hori used to create budget sticks!
Ouch man! That’s gotta suck. Though Truckasaurus did say a few posts up that the EMS Total Control Plus works just dandy for the new Multi-Console Cthulus so if you’ve got one around, I’d try that.
Actually, zeetes’ post reminded me of something. I’m running an LS-32-01 on my HRAP2SA since I enjoy playing SHMUPs as well as fighters. One of the SHMUPs I play is Ikaruga on the Gamecube. Now, I’ve got a ToToTEK converter which works perfectly fine and dandy without lag (even has a PS/2 keyboard port for Phantasy Star Online Episodes 1&2! :bgrin), but annoyingly enough I can’t use Ikaruga’s arcade layout on my HRAP2SA due to the fact that R1 and L1 map to the Z button through my ToToTEK converter. In the GC version of Ikaruga, Z is used to display your chaining score and I can’t map it as a proper action button.
So, I don’t suppose anyone knows of a lagless PSX to GC converter that maps R1 to something besides Z? Somehow I doubt it since both the Cube Joybox Pro and the Magic Path II map R1 to Z and I have next to little information about the Game Elements converter Kyle listed in the first post.
Also, despite what Truckasaurus said, I might still have to amend my post about bypass controllers; I have an inkling that wired racing wheels, the Hori Ace Combat 6 Flight Stick, Saitek’s Command Stick, and the Konami Dance Dance Revolution mats (assuming they’re wired) will work as well.
