I have my converters in from laugh.
Initial testing tonight. I expect the full review ready by mid week.
Get hype.

Awesome! I can’t wait till your review is up MarkMan. Out of curiosity, how does your testing procedure work? I know you do something with Virtua Fighter 5’s input display, but what exactly are you reading in the frame data? How is the data interpreted?
Type of stick: Hori Real Arcade Pro 2: Special Addition
Type of stick: MC Cthulhu (Tested both, I know it’s pointless with the MC Cthulhu)
Source/destination system: PS2 to Gamecube
Converter with link to place of purchase: Magic Path II (bought on eBay)
Results:
The Magic Path II PS2->Gamecube converter does NOT work with my hrap2sa Just for kicks, I tested it with the MC Cthulhu PS2 output as well. Both PCBs had the same issue with this converter. Game thinks I have no controller plugged in, but I can start a game with a real GC pad then swap the converted PS2 stick in its place. Even then, the stick does nothing, but the buttons work fine. I read that this converter is reported to work with hraps. Perhaps I just have a broken one? I used Guilty Gear XX Accent Core (for wii) to test the converter.

Type of stick: MC Cthulhu (Tested both, I know it’s pointless for the MC Cthulhu)
Source/destination system: PS2 to USB, tested PC and PS3
Converter with link to place of purchase: Planex PSX-CV01 Bought at Yamada Denki in Beppu, Japan
Results:
Works perfectly in windows, mac, linux with no drivers (USB HID), and also works perfectly with correct mappings in a PS3. No lag either (tested with instant blocks on reaction in ps3 blazblue, basically SF3 parries). This should be an alternative to the pelican and inpin converters… good luck finding one outside Japan, though.
Still waiting for a X360 to PS3 converter that actually works. Anyone try the KO Gear? After hearing about the Cross Battle dropping inputs I’m skeptical.
THANKS! If everything is on the up and up, I’ll place my order. :lovin:
This is the only reason I haven’t purchased one yet…definitely getting hype
I need to do more testing with different sticks.
But so far so good.
Tested with a Namco and Hori so far. Definitely on point.
More later.
Which converter are you using? The BlazePro or XConverter 360, or both? 0_0
i think he bought the XConverter, the one Laugh is selling now.
but this is promising!
hrap 2? I ask cause apparently one of the other converters has a problem with hrap2s.
Hey guys i just purchased a mayflash Max shooter adapter after reading on the site that it is compatible with the mayflash 3 in 1 arcade stick… and everything works on it except my arcade stick…my stick is modded btw could there be some sort of signal malfunction because i modded it?..i just changed the buttons to semitsu ones and got a ls-32 stick…i left the L1 and L2 buttons capped however with no connecting wiring to their slots on the pcb…i was thinking this could be my problem i don’t know
Thanks to laugh, I will also be reviewing the XConverter 360 as soon as I receive it. It shall be more of a generic review with less focus on lag testing (due to lack of various arcade sticks), as I will leave that to Markman.
MakotoRocket, that’s some weird stuff right there to be honest. If all you did was a simple button and joystick swap, then I can’t think of any reason why it’d stop working. Even with L1 and L2 capped up and unused, it should still work fine. Kind of odd how Mayflash’s own controller doesn’t work with their own converter. This is just a hunch, but I’d do the following:
I just got my Blazepro PS2 to 360 converter in today. Did not come with a box, just a padded envelope. Did an hour of testing, heres my results.
Seems Lagless playing SF4 and MvC2.
Tested with
Stock Namco PS1 stick: works
15th Anniversary SF stick 3.5v: finally got it to work, had to get it started with the namco then swapped out to this stick
the ebay auction I bought it from
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=200369037597&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT
I will look for more sticks to test it out with.
Really irritating to setup, but Im going to hold off on my verdict until after i get and test the xconverter laugh is selling.
that is great stuff, mine should be in next week. waiting on the blazepro to come in
does the Xconverter 360 allow you to use your headset while playing with your ps2 controller if the 360 controller is still plugged in?
I just got an innovation dream connection 2 converter in and I had no ideal that it had Saturn->Dreamcast functionality. I can’t test/play with it til later later later on tonight, just anxious to see if anyone can chime in and fill me in on the quality of the Sega Saturn to Dreamcast functionality? Lagless? Odd button mapping? and what not. THANKS! If anything i’ll just plug it in late tonight and let you guys know.
I have one (bought it long before I ever got into fighters, just wanted to use it so I could use my PC keyboard in PSO back in the day, lol). I’ve used it with my Saturn pads numerous times and it works perfectly. The shoulder buttons get mapped to Z and C on the Saturn pad, so it’s all good.
Fukk yeah!!!:chainsaw:
Gonna use it mostly for fighting games, and prolly get me some typing of the dead action on too. Thanks for the info! Now it’s time for me to wrangle up another one of these suckers. Dam these converters are awesome, PSX/Keyboard/Mouse?/Saturn functionality!? They don’t make’em like these anymore
EDIT: Damn, looks like drunkninja42 beat me to it.
Truckasaurus, no worries; the Dream Connection 2 is lagless for both the PlayStation X port, the Saturn port and I’d guess the PS/2 keyboard port. It maps just fine with the Saturn pad. I believe L on the Dreamcast pad is set to Z on the Saturn pad and R is mapped to C. Basically, if you boot up a fresh gamesave of any Capcom fighter on the Dreamcast, it maps perfectly without having to configure the buttons. Be warned though when using it for PSX function; I believe R1 and L1 are mapped to L and R2 and L2 are mapped to R. Should be fine if you’re using the standard Capcom mapping on your stick.
