Yeah, I feel for you since I’m very obsessed with the Saturn pad. Here’s my cheapo recommendation that will work almost as well:
Bwah? So if I slip in some plastic it’ll work properly?
o_O
Interesting…I’ll have to give this a try…I’ve generally steered clear of those controllers since I’ve heard such terrible things about em…but I think I’ll pick one up and try this out…thanks
I currently use a parallel port adapter and the PSXPAD software to use my PS2 sticks and pads on the PC. They seem to be working lag free, but I’d like to test to make sure.
I tried to use the lag tester program that is in the first post, but it doesn’t seem to recognize the LTP port inputs. There also was no way to configure this program that I could see.
I have an idea to use something like joytokey, or some other software that maps joystick commands to keyboard keys, but I don’t know if that will introduce artificial lag that doesn’t exist otherwise.
Any input by someone who may have already done this, or a suggestion of another lag testing program for PC is very much appreciated.
Haha . . . fuck that.

Hrap2:sa
Stick: Hori Real Arcade Pro 2 SA
Source/destination system: PS2 to PC
Converter: Super Joy Box 3
Results: Works perfectly, lagfree (tested with lagtestor).
Personal Note: The driver software for this converter is amazing! Lots of different configurations like rapid fire, custom mapping, etc…
For all players looking for a good PS2 to PC (does not work with PS3) converter, this is an incredible choice! Very happy and playing SFIV on Pc nonstop!
Kyle, I would like to confirm and add that the Cablesforpc ps2-to-ps3 adapter allowed my SFAC 8V stick to be operable on the PC as well – this however requires a VIA based USB PCI card for PC’s with motherboards that does not have the INTEL chipset. I suppose that this particular USB adapter is using the UHCI USB Intel standard as its USB interface.
More details in this thread regarding the VIA USB cards: http://forums.shoryuken.com/showthread.php?t=175047
I was able to use it on MAME to play some old school SFII Hyper edition.
Can some1 tell me does the inpin work for pc.
yes it sure does. that’s the whole reason i bought mine.
If anyone wants to test their PS3 converters for PC compatibility I’ll update the OP. I’m more interested in the ones that do work and if you had to load drivers.
I bought one of those fancy InPin converters from Laugh over at Evo and hot damn, it works beautifully. I was using a stock Tekken 5 stick.
Huh…I thought the Innovation PS2-DC converter worked with a Cthulhu? I just plugged my PSX cord into my stick, and tried using it on my Dreamcast, but no luck.
Hey Kyle, just dropping in to give some converter compatibility info here.
Type of PCB: MAS Systems Super Pro Stick Mini
Source/Destinaion system: PlayStation 2 to Xbox 360
Converter: Mayflash Max Shooter
Results: For anyone who wanted to know if MAS sticks worked with the Max Shooter, I can confirm it works, no doubt, and it is apparently lagless to boot. It does have input issues which I listed in this other thread.
On top of these, the PlayStation 1 Digital Pad (unknown variant) I had laying around worked fine with the Max Shooter as did my PS1 Namco Arcade Stick and a Hori Real Arcade Pro 1 PCB, so you can definitely check those off as working.
alas, there is still no decent hrap2>>360 converter. buying ps3/upgrading pc just to play sf4 is not an option…
Stick: ASCII Stick3
Source/destination system: PS1 to PS3 60go
Converter: InPin (Laugh)
Results:
- controls / program / turbo works perfectly
- screen work bad
