Semi-off topic, but with Forza 3 coming out and looking great, has anyone bothered to see if racing wheels like the PS2/PS3 compatible Logitech Driving Force Pro ( http://reviews.cnet.com/game-accessories/logitech-driving-force-pro/4505-10110_7-30558134.html ) will work with one of the worthwhile PS2/PS3 to 360 converters?
Thanks for the prompt response. I saw the Mayflash site ages ago but I couldn’t remember if they had Vista drivers.
I’ll give these drivers a shot. I THINK I remember installing these drivers when Vista first came out and was unimpressed, but let’s see if they’re any better.
Are there any other converters that are Vista friendly?
I haven’t seen anyone bring it up, so I was curious if anyone had tried the 3 in 1 PC Joy Box on the PS3. I have one of these that I use with my PS1 DS stick on my computer without any lag problems. I’d be interested in finding out if it works well with the PS3.
Edit: I was also wondering about the PlayStation button that some of the adaptors have. I don’t have a PS3 yet, so I’m not sure how the menu or controller syncing works. Do I have to have at least one controller with a PS button? I’d be playing two players with my stick and a USB Saturn pad, so no official PS3 controllers.
reading the first post, looks like InPin is the best bet… But to make sure, does anybody know if its perfect with specifically, HRAP1 and T5s?
Planning on playing on PC mainly, running Vista. :\
Ok so here’s my promised update.
Controller: PS1 Digital controller, Model H
Converter: inPin
OS/Game System: Vista, PS3
Results: Works great. The inPin has no troubles at all. So it’s a safe bet the Model H PS1 digitals are all safe to use with the inPin.
Now for the DualShock 2 on Vista, post-service pack 2: Also works great. No issues at all. My DualShock is a Model A, if that helps.
@ Tone!: My HRAP1 works perfectly with the inPin on my PC and my PS3. Hope that helps!
XCM Cross Fire Adapter
Why isn’t the XCM Cross Fire Adapter in the OP?
http://www.xcm.cc/xcm_cross_fire_converter.htm
It’s a XBOX 360 to PS3 converter, but I haven’t tested it…does anyone know whether it lags or something?
The thing is, I have a PS3 TE, and I would like to use it on 360’s. What’s my best option for this?
-Padhacking (seems to complicated atm)
-XCM Cross Fire Adapter (anyone has any opinions on this?)
-PS3–>random console, random console–> 360…random console can be PS2 for instance. Is this doable?
Then I could also trade my PS3 TE for 360 TE, which gives me different options:
-Dual mod with Cthulu (sounds complicated, but might be fun)
-XCM Cross Battle Adapter (but it seems this one isn’t perfect)
-XCM K.O. Gear (any opinions on this one?
-360–>random console, random console–>PS3
What would be my best option here? I’d really like to avoid Cthulu since I am not really handy with soldering and stuff.
Asking on behalf of a friend…
Is there a Gamecube to USB adapter that is compatible with PS3?
I don’t the the Mayflash GCN-PC super joybox is PS3-compatible because it requires a driver to work on PC and therefore propably isn’t a simple HID device. Anyone confirm/deny?
Does anyone have the mayflash max shooter converter, and the mayflash ps2/usb fightstick? Has anyone tried it and see if it works with there own product? Thanks!
cmon, theres gotta be someone that has these two products onhand.
i have a black ps1 digital “h” i’ll try it with my inpin to confirm as well!
i have the max shooter on order, should be here tomorrow actually, but i have no intentions of getting the stick haha (thought about it though, would make a decent korean stick since the buttons should pop right in)
I’ve just about given up on XCM products. Pretty sure the conclusion on this one was that it doesn’t work with the Mad Catz sticks. That’s why you haven’t heard more hype about it.
Yeah I know the XCM Cross Battle Adapter isn’t really worth it, but I know a guy who takes his XCM Cross Fire Adapter to tourney’s and it seems to be working fine. And I also would like to know a little bit more about the XCM K.O. Gear.
I feel you. I just don’t have $80/$90/whatever to drop on a converter. I’d rather get a stick at that price. I’ll casually pick up converters when they’re $10-15 for testing. Hell, the other day I got a Cube JoyBox (PS2 to GC) for $6 shipped. The last expensive converter I purchased ($50), the Mayflash Max Shooter PS2-360, ended in a debate anyhow. I’m sure the same would happen with these.
namco ps1 works on max shooter
^Thats good news, but is there any lag?
Hehe yeah, I guess you’re right. The problem is I have only one stick (PS3 TE), and I’d like to take it with me to 360 tourney’s, so I’m searching for my options here…but I guess there aren’t any, really. Too bad.
the human side of me can’t tell, i’m not having any more difficulty executing moves in sf2hd than i do with my sfiv ce stick. i’ve been pre-occupied today with rebuilding my friends pc, otherwise i’d try to run the lag test program thingie on my pc.
Hey guys I have a question. I noticed this in the OP:
I currently have a SmartJoy Plus that I’ve been using for years for PS2 to PC/USB. It has always worked without drivers, and in device manager it’s listed as ‘HID-compliant game controller’. Will this work for PS2 > PS3? I don’t have one to test it on.
Does the Dreamcast freak out when you’re using two converters at the same time or does the problem also occur with just one?
I’m sure I’ve used at least 2 converters in one dreamcast, if not even 3 or 4, without any problems whatsoever. I’ve only got the Total control plus EMS converters and never had a problem with pluggin multiple ones into my dreamcast, ionno if it’s different with other converters, which ones are you using?
I haven’t had a problem yet, but I know the Dreamcast has some well known converter issues.
