Tested the game elements converter on the xbox with a HRAP 2 SA. Worked for MvC2 and CvS2, but had directional issues with 3rd strike. And of course, one of my buttons on my HRAP 2 SA crapped out. =(
Meh, sorry to say that I was able to confirm it. I couldn’t pull of a shoryuken to save my life. I switched over to the Xbox Magic Box and it was fine.
Not too sure how I hadn’t run into this before. I usually play 3rd Strike on the PS2 and use this Xbox disc to play on the 360.
I guess ArcadeStickMonk didn’t play 3rd Strike on his Xbox.
Got my Neo Geo Pad 2 today and it works with the Hais adapter.
Awesome controller btw. If the PS2 Saturn pad is too expensive then this is the next best thing.
^ How much do those go for? I want one now.
My Max Shooter (finally) came in today. The wait was worth it. This thing is amazing and far exceeded my expectations. I’ll put up a full review later today.
Anyone with a custom stick with a PS1/PS2 PCB should definitely pick this up.
Awesome, putting in my order today then.
You can get it on ebay for around $60. I got it with the KoF 94 Re-bout package for ~$73. The stick on this is very good, especially for quarter/half/full circle motions.
So what’s the best “available” PS2->PS3 converter at the moment?
Pelicans are rare and ridiculously overpriced while I can’t find any Inpin adapters.
Does anyone know of any good retail outlets selling good converters?
PM: laugh, ask about the inPin converter.
try the hais adapter from dealextreme should be readily available.
Thanks. I PM’d him. Now the waiting begins.
Do you have a link for it? I can’t find it on the website. I saw a couple of generic branded converters.
Is there a converter for 360 -> PS2? Got the 360 TE, so it would be nice to be able to use it on more consoles, though I do have the Hori T5s for the PS2.
No sorry. At this time there’s nothing that can go back a generation. It’s a pretty safe assumption that if it has a USB end then you won’t be using it on an older console. People usually ask about using their PS3 sticks on a PS2.
If you’re up for some soldering fun you can add a PS1 PCB to your stick. This may be a little more adventurous answer than what you were after.
MAS Stick with Dragonplus adapter PS3
I too have a MAS stick which I bought from Arcadeshock. I also bought an adapter from them with the stick since I was using it on a PS3. They sent me a Dragonplus adapter, after plugging it in, I get an error message stating:
“The maximum power that can be supplied to USB devices has been reached. Remove at least one device.”
What is weird about this is, this error message only comes up when I have the adapter plugged straight into the PS3, when I have the Guitar Hero dongle plugged in and the Dragonplus adapter plugged into the dongle I see no error, BUT when I experience delays of no responsiveness.
This only happens when I go from down right to down left. Has anyone seen this problem? I’m deciding between the HAIS adapater now and the InPin, what are your thoughts?
Thanks a ton, dude.
I bet it’s the converter and not the system/stick. The Dragonplus reviews were positive in general, but MarkMan (god of converters) didn’t like it, and a few users did report lag/screwiness with them.
Either of those two should be fine. The InPin is the defacto standard around here but everyone seems to be having success lately with the Hais.
Thanks for the quick response Kyle. Looks like I should really look into buying a 360 to get the most out of the stick, outside of emulation.
