I’ve said it before, but: Sam (B), you need to think a little more when you play. I remember watching you down at Evo and wincing as you did dumb stuff like snap out MikeZ’s glitched-up Juggernaut. It seems like you’ve got down the mechanics of the game, but you beat yourself more than even Row does. Seriously - think more, be a little more deliberate, and you could be a beast.
Dear GameWorks: WTF? Seriously?
Mandel, your Cable is too buff. Focus on that more. Leading off with Sentinel is buff too.
With his right or left, one would think. Seems like an awkward question
p.s. I saw him being a bit too liberal with the random assists and dashes. Kinda like trying to do a flying kick at Nathan Jones. You just get swatted away. Not being conservative enough, to put it shortly.
I used to play it every so often, but not nearly as much as I used Team Row. My Magneto isn’t that great, and my Storm can’t really fight Sentinel. It’s hella irritating. My Sentinel and Cable are still fine though.
Ultimately, it’s frustrating when you don’t really improve so much. I think I know EXACTLY how Evan feels.
Jeah right! Come on mayne…this is coming from a guy who OCV’ed fucking Jmar on Friday (if I am correct I thought your Magneto rocked his shit…nonetheless you won with a big lead)
Minor thoughts: Mash throws more with your characters. Sentinel’s throw is beastly. Storm’s air fierce and air roundhouse own most everything. Storm’s launchers are more situational, but still godlike and hard to beat. Magneto’s overhead roundhouse is pretty hard for most people to block or punish.
I’m trying to be more analytical, since playing against all of you guys all the time means it’s hard to have ‘casual’ matches…
If you keep missing two button moves, check your fingers. For the first time ever last night after getting my usual intense quiet anger about missing dashes, wave-dashes, AHVB, and SWITCH-OUTs (those are really lame to miss), I paid close attention and realized that I’m always getting Fierce first … because my middle finger is significantly longer than my pointer finger. This is the stupidest thing in the entire world, but if you’ve watched me over the past long time, you know I miss so much - and I think this is a big reason why. Once I realized this, I was about 3x more reliable. Now I just need to remember to focus on that.
So yeah, if you miss two-button moves as much as I do - check your finger lengths. I’ve been playing for three years now and finally figured out half of my problem. =P
As far as frustration goes, remember that half the people we play with would do awesome at any tournament, and not many of them ever really get into ‘casual’ mode. It is really hard to get in a casual game of Marvel around here… just know that going in and you’ll be happier. =\
To Gogantes: Great matches saturday! I look forward to playing you with an improved magnus sometime soon. Looking back, I think you should avoid straight airdashing so low without assist support. You’re too vulnerable to random launchers/anti airs. And generally, just be more consistent with those combos. You were whiffing left and right a few hours into it. Damn good games, though. Hope to see you down in Seattle sometime
you know i’ve noticed that problem with myself as well, hitting one button before another. it’s really angering when you know you had them blocking low but missed a tri jump and end up going flying in the air with hp, then getting blasted by commando.
esp if you have two people in ahvb, but then you screw up and miss the next one, with 3 more bars to go, that’s pretty annoying as well. or even better, hvb on the ground with no supers left to dhc
