Confirmed patch

I pay for business class road runner and a regular package of cable internet (bundled with digital cable and a land line phone) from Time Warner.

I’ve plugged my PS3 directly into the business class line I pay for and the game still drops constantly and disconnects me from the PSN for no apparent reason. Yet, I can play Metal Gear Online or Starcraft just fine from my PS3 or PC when I’m playing on a standard connection through a wired router and I have never had any problems with those games.

The game wasn’t beta tested on the PS3. And no matter how excellent or poor your connection is the game would drop if you chose the start colors half of the time anyways. Just terrible all around programming. Choosing Vega (Claw) was almost a guaranteed disconnect after one or two rounds. No other game on the PSN that I’ve played had these problems. Hell, Puzzle Fighter HD, made by Backdone, the same company that made ST:HDR, is completely fine and never disconnects me from the PSN.

And how they fix Zangief’s motion input problem with his 720 but don’t fix Hawk’s is pathetic. The input error is the same for both characters and is a byproduct of them not testing the new motions for errors. Why they fix one character and not the other when they both share the EXACT SAME problem is a testament to the lack of quality control of this version. What is going on at the backbone offices?

Are you saying all these problems are still present post-patch on PS3? Or are you describing what it was like before the patch? People in this thread have reported T-Hawk’s super is fixed, as is Zangief’s.

I logged on earlier today (2ish ET) and didnt have the patch (XBL).

Im still hoping that hawks super is fixed at least :-/ no offense to anyone who says it is, but ill wait for jedi/RSX/jiggly to confirm it before i can get my hands on it.

I was able to chose Claw and start colors today without problems and I played for a few hours choosing start color for every character. But the game still often boots me from the PSN for no obvious reason. Even when I disconnect from other games on the PS3 it never boots me from the PSN as well. Today I had one of my PS3s sitting around as a dedicated Metal Gear Online server for several hours with no issues at all. But on my other cable internet connection, ST:HDR was disconnecting me from games I detected minimal lag in.

And, the menus offline, still lag, noticeably. That does not signify a fixed game to me.

Again this is all the PSN version. I gave my 360 to charity as I bought one of those RE5 edition 360s so I can’t play HDR on XBL right now.

I tried empty jumping into the 720 command throw, tried ticking from jumping jab, and from standing jab. I even slowed the game down to zero speed from the options menu and still would get a dragon punch even though I clearly ended the 720 motion in the back or downback direction.

Even if the 720 works some of the time it certainly is not working every time.

When I said the supers were working, I meant that both hcb,hcb,f and hcf,hcf,b worked on both the left and right sides because I recall that one or both grapplers had issues performing both motions on both sides. 720s not working for the supers is unavoidable using solely the new motion and Sirlin already said that wasn’t a bug.

I noticed lots of flicker on the PS3 version post-patch.

Switching my PS3 output from 1080i to 720p worked. Lucky for me it’s only on a 720p HDTV…

I’m still getting random disconnects after character select on PSN. I’ve even witnessed a few bouts of that mid-game lag studder. How depressing.

I played maybe 10 scoreboard matches. 9 of them were solid, no lag or discs. One of them had some STOP lag in the second round, then in the next round there was some very brief lag followed by them disconnecting - although it seemed like it might have been intentional. I had gone into game settings and turned off the network smoothing, BTW.

It might be because of the autosave feature…

Does this happen to you with your controller set to #1?

I didnt even notice Virtua posted. You have the patch VFfour? I havent had a chance to get it / play it yet. Hawks super bug is still there? Unreal.

Update is live on xbox 360!!!

maybe try to turning your xbox off then back on. then load hdr. theres a few people playing on ranked.

Sorry if this has already been mentioned but does who you win/lose to efect your ranking? Or is it just the amount of wins and losses?

Trueskill system basically is this : Beat someone higher ranked, more points, lower ranked, less points.

Thanks! I kind of figured it out after a few matches though. My win loss record already sucks since I picked Blanka by mistake against the ranked 2 player and got owned…

They should have left the ranking matches completely blind like pre patch. Now that ppl can see how many ranked wins and losses you’ve had since the system was turned on (eg 30-0), ppl will just quit in the lobby, and no penalties for that either. In order to reset your score back to 0-0, you have restart the game.

I also think people can guess who they’re playing by looking at the win/losses and counterpick.

And has the competition on xbox live just got tougher now the ranking system is up. I used to have a win % of 85% or so but it’s a lot lower at the moment.
