I would if GGPO worked any better. Love the netcode but I’m lucky to get 1 connection out of 5 attempts to work. Warts and all HDR is still far easier for me to fire up and get a game.
^^^ You know, I remember you having that problem. My experience was completely different. I had the best on-line gaming ever on GGPO.
DO you use a lynxs (or however you spell it) router. I bought one and had HELLA problems.
I guess I’m the only one who has roughly the same amount of problems with STHD and GGPO?
-
I can play lagless with higher pings on GGPO (up to about 180~ ms), but I get a lot of random freezes, and it takes several tries to start a game up.
-
Staying connected is easier for me in STHD, but it’s a little harder to find a game and it gets laggier at much lower ping (120~ ms).
Overall, GGPO is better in my opinion, but only because I can play people with higher pings with less rollbacks.
Watching porn?
Wouldn’t people want to play against high ranks? Since, y’know, they give the most ranking points, and you lose less ranking if you lose the match?
Linksys? Yeah, and I’d guess it’s part of the problem. But doling out more cash for replacement equipment seems silly considering it’s the only thing I have problems with. Already spent way too much for Street Fighter at this point.
It doesn’t hurt I still like HDR better (even the art, yes). I know you’re on the other side of the fence though.
Well sure, if you assume most people who play ranked online actually want good games and ranking points based on skill. But we all know how realistic that is.
Yeah, that and spectators lag matches out. Seems like Ponder is completely done on updating GGPO :shake:
I can’t believe they didn’t fix the exploit where you can see who you’re playing during the character select screen.
yay im happy that ranking is fixed
now i’m playin mad OD people on ranking matches again and not brainlessly mashing through scrubs.
[quote]
do u mean seeing their name through the dashboard? can they really address that though?
They could make it so that you couldn’t look at the players list right after you join a ranked match.
HMMM…this makes sense, i got a couple of droppers earlier on just before round 1 was about to start who took forever to select their character. Also i noticed lots more people quit out of lobbies once my win/loss info started getting a little intimidating looking.I had won 20 lost 5 earlier and i saw a few people join the room then quit out again, and not play me.It’s kind of a shame to have to reset the game just to blank this back to 0-0.
Anybody know what the story is with droppers and what happens to the win/loss for the round as a result of a D/C in HDR?? Sorry if this is already posted somewhere, i’m in a hurry tonight, haven’t got 20 mins to search the whole site.Feel free to :hk: my ass if it’s been covered.
Am loving this patch. It’s great to be able to play ranked at last, and also pick start colours without getting disconnects.Managed to get myself into the top 50 earlier :clapdos:.Wonder how long that’ll last…
There, I fixed your post for you. Seriously, it’s like whoever was involved with this patch is just trying to play a bad joke on everyone… Hype people up for some broken functional fixes for a few months, then break the game even more and make it almost completely unplayable. I feel like it’s one of those “Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me” situations. Had a lot of peoples hopes up for absolutely nothing.
No, you ruined it, both by changing what I meant to write, AND by writing a sentence that didn’t make sense
You may be disappointed, but I’m having a great time with the patch. Don’t fix my posts if they aren’t broken
You must like glitchy, broken games then.
I’m happy because my ranking won’t be stuck at 0 anymore. Not that I’d be ranked high anyway…
I had my entire xbox freeze up once after installing the patch. It seemed like it was dropping at first, but then the music stopped and I realized I couldn’t even get the xbox guide button menu to pop up. That’s never happened to me while playing HDR before.
Other than that, I haven’t experienced any other NEW problems. The netcode still drops people occasionally, but that happened beforehand.
Running down the changelist (only checking against what occurs in the 360 version):
- The lifebar glitch has not happened to me since the patch was installed.
- I never use the start color so I don’t know, but nobody has dropped on me at the vs. screen.
- Haven’t played a ranked match yet w/ the patch yet. But it might be that my ranking is at 0 anyways
- I haven’t experienced Desyncing with Vega’s fake walldive yet, but I haven’t seen a lot of good Vega players online, so who knows.
- Haven’t had the full lobby list bug yet.
- I don’t even play Zangief, so I don’t know.
- Again, no ranked matches, so I don’t know if 2/3 happens sometimes. But honestly I’ve never seen the 2/3 bug happen pre-patch anyways.
- I play with a stick, so I can’t even use the analog/dpad trick.
- My stats seem fine.
So far, I’ve gotten what’s been promised to me.
Since the patch:
-
Picked start color a bunch, and it’s definitely better.
-
Haven’t seen lifebar glitch since
-
Music stopping hasn’t happened yet
-
Disconnects still occur, though not during the vs screen that I’ve seen. One match will end, and then there’s a slight pause, then some people get kicked from the room. After that, the people left cannot start a game at all. You have to leave the room and re-create.
-
Game still can cause Xbox to freeze or can kick you to the dashboard. Fun stuff.
Except that I’ve been having a significantly less glitchy experience since I had the patch. Also, my shit has never been broken. If you don’t like the game so much, stop posting here and go to the SF4 thread or whatever other games you play. Peace
You must love complaining. Give it a rest. I think we all understand your opinion.
If I follow correctly, I think the disagreement is because Lethargy is playing on PS3. It sounds like that version got the short end of the stick again and is still really buggy, just in slightly different ways now.
I played the 360 version for a bit. My experience so far was like others. I only played casual matches, and they seemed less buggy. I haven’t seen the lifebar glitch, which makes me happy. But I still got droped occasionally, which made me less happy. Also, mine froze up completely once too. Dunno if that’s my old xbox slowly creeping towards death or if it’s because of the game. Either way, all in all, the 360 version seems better so far.
