yeah I was really impressed with the new set. I liked the tonight show set also, but this one just seems like carson-era classy. really nice design.
it was also nice seeing andy back on the couch and not obscured somewhere on set like an announcers chair. also the new music stage was pumping out some really crisp tunes, just like the old late night studio. that’s something that always irked me about the tonight show set…something was just not as rich with the performance stage.
Just a bit off topic, but Leno’s show is getting killed in the ratings. In September 2010, Leno’s show has fallen to below Conan’s average during his stint. In October, Letterman is beating Leno’s show in the ratings for the first time since Leno came back.
Also Jeff Zucker, the douche in charge for this whole O’Brien/Leno disaster, was fired after Conan left, so there was some justice afterall (and he got a bigger walk away payout than conan did!)
It’s not really a fair comparison to use numbers from his premiere so I don’t think it really matters. More accurate to compare them a few months down the line.
I used to love Late Night with Conan O’Brien. But, I find it harder to watch his shows and he comes off progressively more and more annoying. I think he should take this time to start a new format with the talk show schtick.
Personally, I’d rather him do more comedy bits, interview one guest, and have one musical performance.
Yeah you can’t wear green in front of blue screens lol weather men never wear green. You can get away with teal so some of them wear that on St. Pattie’s.
