I’m about 95% sure that there is some nasty stuff out there that is undetectable and able replicate itself through firmware. Everyone seems to think that it’s too far-fetched and complicated to be executed in the wild, but black hats are getting so clever lately. I don’t know…
Sceptre is the best budget brand IMHO. i got a 21" for 160 at office max. 1000:1 contrast, 5ms response time. It’s the clearest monitor I’ve ever used.
as far as negatives: doesn’t come with DVI cable. stand shakes a bit (but it hasn’t fallen over yet), neck isn’t height adjustable… but you get what you pay for.
My friend recently bought a LG 26" from Radioshack for $450. It’s awesome. Only problem is the lag input for his Gamecube games; well he hasn’t tried anything else besides Smash Bros.
ok i’m noob at computers so i could use a little help
i recently reformated my computer with windows xp home… i bought it from dell in about june. model is dimension e520. intel, pentium D cpu 3.00 ghzs, 1 gig of ram… pretty much the basic setup. anyways after i installed the fresh XP with the discs Dell gave me, there’s no sound at all, like the computer makes those beeping sounds instead of playing through the speakers. AFAIK there was an onboard soundcard but i don’t know the drivers or whatever because i have no idea what i’m looking at when i look at the specs etc.
so any way to fix this? i can give more info but i need to be directed to it.
If you reinstalled using the Dell disc then there’s no drivers installed. Use the driver disc they provided or get them from the manufacturer’s website.
come on preppy that shit is Not going to work; be honest with the guy. time to reload your OS. dont waste your time trying to do a non destructive restore. start from scratch, put this shit in an hdd enclosure and retrieve what you can. ur hdd has been owned.
^ I’m almost willing to bet that it’s malware hiding itself in “bad clusters.” Some of that stuff is near impossible to detect/remove. After saving what you can…
No worries, you’re likely more familiar with 0xc000009c than I am. Sorry: I was just attempting to provide first glance advice based upon only a blue screen and no other information at all. =\
meh, ipod question. My Ipod (and limewire as well, but I fixed that) have been acting really weird lately and just being really hard to work with. If it’s not a fact already Itunes is the biggest pos ever, it is. My problem is that my Ipod and Itunes don’t seem to be working together. At first when I plugged in my Ipod to the usb cable, Itunes didn’t recognize it at all. After reading some similar stories and solutions I just restarted my comp and it was fine. Now theres a prob where whenever I plug the ipod in it will connect, sync whatever is needed and work fine until I need to eject. The Ipod icon on Itunes goes away (after telling it to eject) but the screen stays on my ipod saying it’s still connected and “eject before disconnecting”. My only option is to disconnect and try over again but I really think thats gonna f’ up my ipod or hard drive in the end so I’m trying to do it as sparingly as possible. And tips?
Hey guys, thanks for all the input regarding my AMD Quad Core vs. Dual core question I deicided going Dual due to some monetary issues. So I got the ASUS M2N32 SLI Deluxe Wireless edition. And I’m extremely pleased with the processor and board. Although the wireless option of the ASUS (which is very cool looking) has caused me a lot of problems. My signal would keep getting interrupted. I can’t tell if its just a problem with me or if others have had the same. If you’re planning on playing Call of Duty 4 (or any game that requires punkbuster) might as well shell out the 50 bucks extra for a Linksys wireless PCI adapter.
