Btw, I’m just guessing it’s because of Mozilla.
This is my latest crashlog, does it help in any way to where the crash comes from (I jus’t can’t understand it).
dvi only carries video. you need to find another means to transfer the audio to the tv.
I tried re-installing Windows NET 2.0 Runtime again, and this is the error data (2 parts)

Any microfiber type material will work. You can easily buy one for relatively cheap, 10 dollars or so. But if you’re in a bind, just wet a cotton cloth. Then clean it up with a dry cotton cloth. I wouldn’t recommend a paper towel; it’s much too abrasive. The cloth doesn’t have to be special, even a t-shirt would do fine. If there are streaks right afterwards, don’t worry about it. Let it air dry and they should disappear on their own.
buy.com has some Kingston flash drives for cheap right now. I ordered a 2gb one and combined that with Google checkout for a grand total of 95 cents.
http://www.buy.com/prod/kingston-2gb-hi-speed-datatraveler-usb-flash-drive/q/loc/101/204737104.html
Ordered that one, but these 2 are also cheap.
http://www.buy.com/prod/kingston-1gb-data-traveler-usb-2-0-flash-drive/q/loc/101/202743517.html
http://www.buy.com/prod/kingston-1gb-datatraveler-mini-migo-edition-usb-2-0-flash-drive/q/loc/101/204134632.html
Now wouldn’t it be possible to order a bunch of those? All you need is a gmail account and sign it up for Google checkout everytime you are about to order.
In what way? I love Vista.
get this cable:
http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/41J092A3Z5L.AA280.jpg
you can get them at radioshack, they don’t look that fancy, but they’re $5. I didn’t link you to that link just in case you accidentally bought that without reading the rest of this sentence… Those ones cost like $30 or something. Then plug the red/white into the TV and the other into the headphone / output (green) jack on your PC.
here’s what the converter looks like. and what they’re like daisied together:
you wont be able to figure it out from that. what happens when you crash, rather than what does the log say?
and last: as for the screen-wiping thing… i use a damp cloth, rung out and blown with a hair dryer for about 2 minutes just so that it has moisture without wetness. wipe it over the screen, being careful not to get too close to the edges, and then wipe the rest with a paper towel. The other way to do it, use wet-ones.
So, I thought about replacing my Compaq evo case with something lighter, because I move around every now and then and I’m tired of carrying it. Also, it doesn’t have usb ports on the front, which is another con, IMO. I don’t play games on my computer, so I probably wouldn’t need something too hardcore. I’ve checked the ones on newegg, but I thought I’d ask first.
Thanks.
if you move around a lot, it’s a good idea to do just that and get a gaming case.
something like this
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811133033
would be awesome.
that one is a bit pricey, but there are cheaper ones made by apevia.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811144162
they go as low as this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811145004
but i don’t recommend that brand. i don’t know how the case is, but blah ratings, and a shitty brand = don’t get.
Hey man,
Thanks for the reply. It looks like I’ll be getting the first or second one.
np dude
gaming cases are excellent for transportation and easy access to various ports.
good luck with it!
just do yourself a favor first:
measure your motherboard. make sure it will fit inside one of these cases. MicroATX standard is kinda small for a mobo. if your mobo is standard ATX size or even worse BTX, it wont work.
I’ve got an NEC cd/dvd combo drive from about 4 years ago, my question is, would the drive be the reason certain DVD’s won’t play on my comp or would it be my software? I’m using VLC and wondering if I need to buy a new drive or suck it up and buy a dvd decoder compatible with WMP. The DVDs that won’t play or play with a bit of trouble on here play fine on my home DVD player.
possibly your drive, but i’m not 100% sure i’ll say that it’s definite.
try downloading ffdshow and install it. it’s a set of just about all the codecs. then run it again on vlc player, or try something like a demo version of power dvd. if it doesn’t work then, you might need a new drive.
I set the Windows XP default VGA video device to “Do not use” and as a result, it boots to Windows, but there are no graphics… which is actually what I expected to happen. But I can’t get the machine in Safe mode to fix it… Is there a way i can undo that in the recovery console without having to do a reinstall? Right now I’m trying to fix it with a live cd.
I hope that post makes sense.
that post makes plenty of sense. what you have to do is try to log in from a different account. as far as i know, there’s no clear way to run system restore, or that would work.
Try this:
get intoa live cd and run this program:
c:\windows\system32\restore\rstrui.exe
if that program will open up for you, then you can just run system restore from it.
I’m using a Linux live Cd, so I can’t run that file. But I’ll try using a different account. Thanks!
How would you go about running an exe like that from a Live CD since all of the Live CDs I know of are for Linux distros. There must be something I don’t know about, haha. Thanks for the heads up.
anyone with a mac book?? gotta question as for as internet connectivity from anywhere…
there are ways… that im’ very unaware… but my boss told me there’s a windows emulator that you can install into linux. i don’t know if it was available on any of the live cds. i stopped using linux back in fedora 4.0 days, so i’m not too savvy with the newer stuff available for the OS.
I’ve started playing Kaillera 3S on my laptop and I’ve been noticing some serious “lagspikes.” Someone I played against asked if I was on laptop and I told him yes. He mentioned that it most likely wasn’t my connection but my laptop heating up that was causing this. I was curious how probable this was or if there was a way of testing this with absolute certainty. If it is the problem I’m going to invest in a cooling pad, but i’d like someone’s input that’s a bit more tech savvy than me.
I have a Dell Inspiron E1705 and a cable internet connection
You should try cleaning off the dust from around the surface of the CPU fan, plus blow off the dust from the ventilation area (located from the back of your notebook) using compress air. What kind of notebook is it, how long you used it for, and when does the lagspike first occurred?
