tried and it doesnt work. maybe I need to change its configuration or something ??
so you are saying I can just buy a switch and connect it to any port on the 4 port router ??
I tried ANOTHER 4 port router with uplink port and this one is slow too. its the exact same model as my fast router just earlier version. checked the speed with just the router and one computer.
Yes you’d need to configure ip addresses/subnets so they appear to be of the same network and add custom route configs on the router directly connected to your modem so it can transfer all packets directed to the 8 port subnet to where it belongs.
Connecting a switch to the one of the router’s ports should also work. You might need to make custom configurations like if you added a router but I’m not 100% sure if it does stuff automatically.
my cousin who doesnt know how to use a laptop… if i dont let him on my laptop… he’ll whine and then i get yell at… so i let him on.

he download all kids games on the laptop that it slow the laptop down… i deleted most of it…
my question is… how do i get my laptop from viruses and make it fast again…? what ANTI VIRUS PROGRAM do u guys recommend…?
If you’ve been owned, you’re better off reformatting. You’re just playing a guessing game at that point as to whether or not you’ve been rootkitted or keyloggered.
This is why you set him up a second user account with no admin privileges.
there might be a second hard drive, depending on the brand. look for some kind of backup utilities in your start menu.
or take a sceren shot of everything in your start menu, and post it up. there MIGHT be something. i know HP/COmpaq has them.
and i will give a third opinion saying that C2D >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> X2… (this is also coming from a hardcore AMD fanboy, who only has had AMD until NOW, where i have a C2D)
Putting together the new system I just bought and am hooking up the computer case cables (HDD LED, Power Switch, etc) to the motherboard. Do I have to put these cables in a certain way so the positive and negative parts match? I can’t remember the way I put it in before in my old system, and am afraid of booting it up only to fry the motherboard.
My case is a Thermaltake Armor, and the motherboard is an abit IP35. The cables themselves don’t have a label; all I have is an arrow pointing on one side (which I THINK means positive, but not sure). Does someone know for sure?
The positive ones should be connected to the positive pins and the same goes for the negatives. You can’t fry the mobo by putting them on backwards (I’ve done it before). The motherboard manual should tell you what goes where, but they should also be color coded.
Anyone here have experience with Antec computer cases? My current POS case is driving me nuts, it sounds like a jet engine that is about to take off. The reason it is Antec is because these are the best ones I have seen in person at my local Fry’s. I may just pick one up, I hate ordering parts online and would rather go to an actual store for returns/exhanges.
Got 2 Antec cases in my house, both are great. Sonata III downstairs, very very quiet, cant hear nothing from it. 900 upstairs, still quite quiet, great case but it has the PSU mount at the bottom which isnt to my liking, still glad I got it for my personal PC tho. Antec are a good make, as long as you find one thats your style you should be very happy with it.
Anyone know how I can get sound through my plasma TV speakers when using a DVI to HDMI cable? The audio in’s are only supported on component and VGA channel on my TV. Is there a way for me to get sound with this setup?
