Creative Zen Stone Plus… about the same price… better quality. the SanDisk ones have a tendency to malfunction and just suck at everything.
that’s not what i mean…
if you have an onboard sound card and a pci sound card, your IRQ values could be getting fucked up. if your IRQ values are crossing, then your soundcard drivers are looking at the wrong sound card.
abit sucks IMHO for anything.
Gigabyte, ASUS, MSI are my favorite. MSI used to be garbage, but now they’re good. abit, i’ve heard got much better, but i haven’t used one. the last one i used was a first generation LGA775 board, and it was shitty. bios wasn’t stable, then when i updated the bios, the whole thing assed out.
the board katsurugi suggested… is the older model of my mobo and it’s a SOLID FUCKING BOARD.
these are the two boards i suggest the most in a decent price
Hmm…I can’t get Katsurugi’s board anymore. Guess they discontinued it?
I’ve used Abit in the past and it’s worked well for me…it’s on sale for Cyber Monday and it has free shipping, so that’s why I was going to choose it…
I keep seeing that cheap Gigabyte board though…and wonder if I should just choose it, haha. I have more than 4 SATA drives though, plus I’m not digging that color…
Thanks for the input though guys, but I may end up buying that Abit board (here in like the remaining hour that’s left for the sale)…probably end up biting me in the ass though, haha. It DOES have future Penryn support though, so a plus I guess?
I’m going to give one last look to the boards though…
You remember my last post concerning Zenstone right man? The piece of shit died on me, and i couldn’t get a replacement even i provided all my shits except my receipt cuz i threw it out. So is it still worth getting a Zenstone Plus even if it’s gonna die one? If i do order one online, can i get a return with my money back n such?
BTW:I just canceled my order of the sandisk, will they fuck up my order and charge me and send me the product anyway? I know some stores are like that, and do shits like that on purpose.
If you use a credit card, then they should be able to give your money back to you that way. I’ve had to return some items to Newegg before and it works pretty flawlessly. If they don’t do it instantly, wait a couple of days. If they’re still charging you, just call and they’ll help you out.
Quick question. I got a random microphone headset (non usb, the green plug/pink plug kind) but my computer won’t register the mic. The only one it still registers is the shitty one on the webcam.
I checked logitech.com in case they had drivers but no luck.
ok so Ive been using a 500gb hard drive since last year. I have ALL my important shits like random softwares/ugrades,all pix,cvs2 vids(shit I never uploaded…CANT LOSE THESE !) and other stuff.
now my hard drive wont show up in windows at all. it shows in bios but I tried reactivating from computer management but I get an error saying it cant do or something(can take screen shot later). now if I were to guess, maybe the partition somehow got messed up and I am wondering if there is a sofware that will let me write the partition without losing data ? or maybe I can recover the important data from the drive and reformat it ? the disc format is “dynamic”.
any help/suggestions is greatly appricated thanks
Try another OS, preferably any Linux build. I’d go with Ubuntu. If it doesn’t show up there, then you might have some problems. If it does show up in Ubuntu, then you might be able to mount the drive and transfer the data onto the main HD or another external HD. I know that Linux natively writes only onto FAT formatted drives, but I’ve been assured by others that you can mount it to write to NTFS drives. (Apparently, I was doing it wrong.)
right click my computer, click manage… check disk management, and see if it shows up there.
as for the zen stone stuff… personally, i still think that creative’s MP3 players are the best. I’ve had several, two died. One died because the headphone jack got messed up, but easily fixed by paper tiger. The other, I dropped and the HDD crashed, steve F bought it and is putting a compact flash card in there to replace it. My zen vision was awesome until i decided that i needed money, and i could play videos and music on my cellphone instead. My zen stone still sits in my gym bag and i use it every time i lift. Creative’s always been good with warranties for all their products for me, even those i’ve bought second handed (My x-fi, they even accepted a false receipt). I had an iPod for a day… i HATED it… I had a 256MB sandisk that i could never get music on… i’d put about 50 songs on it, and only 10 would show up. My mom has the 1GB version of the 256 that i had… same problem… My uncle has a samsung… it’s awesome, but wayyy overpriced. he paid $90 for a gig…
For the record, many new Linux distros use ext3 rather than FAT… unless ext3 is some sort of derivative of FAT, I don’t really know much about filesystems. Also, most Linux distros are designated read-only for NTFS partitions. Extra software is often required in order to write to NTFS.
And to clarify this for the person who had asked the question, if you choose to do this you should pick a Linux distro that can be booted from a Live CD, like Ubuntu or Knoppix. This way you won’t actually have to install a new operating system.
it does show up on computer management if I plug in the power supply in windows. otherwise the computer wont even start. then if I tried reactivating the disc my computer pauses every 10 seconds. I am just gonna copy the important files to another spare drive then reformat it. using a software called “recover my files” and so far its working.
Sometimes MAME freezes on me - a desync by myself or someone else, the music starts skipping, and I can’t do anything on my comp. I can’t alt-tab out or ctrl alt delete out. How do I get out of this? I know that it is just the program freezing and not a fatal crash, because sometimes I can get out of it by mashing keys, and when I shut down my computer with the hardware button mame shuts it down as well (and my computer in the process - I can’t stop it).
Any ideas on how to close mame (or any other program) when it freezes and the above methods don’t work?
hmm…so I cant format the drive. I did manage to get all the data from it but it wont format anymore. so I take it its dead ? device manager shows the drive is working though.
I am probably gonna try it on another computer tomorrow…
