what model laptop?
some have function keys to turn them on, but i would think even if the bluetooth radio’s not on you should see it in the control panel, hmmm
EDIT:about the wireless network. you should get decent internet speeds even with fair wireless strength (mine varies from 20%-60%)
even if the network isn’t running at full throttle, it’s still more than enough bandwith for your internet connection. 802.11g(not eduacated on the pre-n) maxes out at 54Megabits per second, where as like a broadband connection to the internet is less tha 6 usually, unless you pay for some premiums or something
It’s a Dell Latitude D630 but I know that certain changes must’ve been made before I got it (dunno the full extent of those changes). I did check the start menu before I tried control panel, but no dice. I wonder why the blue light stays on all the time if Bluetooth is currently unusable.
have youtried going to the dell website and look for support or a support and drivers button. i’m thinking maybe before you got it, they reloaded the system and didn’t include the drivers for it.
k i ask this question not long ago but nobody answer. i hope somebody help me out.
k my comp so far its fine, but now once in awhile the internet would die on me. i have motorola cable modem for the comp and wireless router for the laptop. they’re both connected to each other, well the wires and such. Once in awhile the motorola would only have the POWER AND RECEIVE FULLY GREEN. THE OTHERS ALL BLACK. THERE’S 5 THINGS SUCH AS
POWER
RECEIVE
SEND
ONLINE
AND PC/ACTIVITY
i check the wires to see if it’s unplugged but still no help, i dont know whats going on.
BTW:IS DISK CLEANUP good so i do it daily, if so what should i put a CHECK by?
Just try unplugging the modem from the wall, then the router from the wall. Plug the modem back in, wait about 2 minutes, then plug the router back in and wait a few minutes. See if that helps.
Dropped a binder on my laptop keyboard, keys popped out, but luckily I was able to fix them.
Also, my cousin sent me this great deal for anyone (who’s a student) in need of Microsoft Ultimate Office 2007. It comes with a load of programs and for this price I’d say it’s worth the money. Here’s the link.
So I just got my new desktop along with this really wide 22 inch flat screen. Its resolution is 1600 x 1050. I mean its all good that the screen is big and all but sites look really weird on this. And lower resolutions also look like shit and I can’t change the positioning on my screen. Any tips?
You don’t need to maximize each and every window to fill the whole screen; just resize your browser window until you’re comfortable with how pages are being rendered. I recently got a widescreen laptop (1440x900 for me) and I rarely if ever maximize my browser window anymore; I just resize my browser so 1024x768 sites fit and use the extra space on the desktop for other programs (such as IM windows and the like).
Even on my 1280 x 1024 resolution screen I typically do that. Just about every site out there is optimized for 1024 x 768, so I keep the browser open wide enough for that and then use the extra space for my IM contacts list. It seems awkward to do after being used to always maximizing browsers for such a long time, but it really makes things easier once you get used to it.
JUst curious i got a 3.2ghz p4 2 gigs of so so ram and a 6800nu soft modded on a Asus P4800. I have a AMD anthlon 64 FX60 proc i got from a old pc case. Should i look into a upgrade soon or change out some bottle necks? Runs smooth but games like crysis and Hellgate london are on the horizon and would like too dip into some better waters. Opinions or suggestions always welcomed!!!
Things become outdated so fast that you can only blink so many times. My way of dealing with it is not update unless needed and get the best and latest when updating regardless of the price. But I’d run ok with your specs.
Ok I Just formatted my computer, but for some reason I can’t get my sound card to work (pretty sure it’s integrated). I have a Dell Dimension 5100, and I’m running XP home. Can any one help? I want to listen to music…
meh, and then people say your ass deep in debt while in college why? because either you don’t know of alternatives and/or knowing how to budget yourself, I know the majority of us use office but hell, do yourselves a favor and save some money why don’t you. use openoffice.org
oh btw mixah you could go that route for ease of installation however it’s preferred you go direct instead via the site as it’s more up to date
