Question about burning Dvd’s.
I’ve been burning dvd’s that are around 4.3 gigs or so (downloaded of the internet). I tried ripping a few dvd’s I have and they are way bigger than normal (around 7.4 gigs).
How do I burn these? Do I need some type of compressor? Do I need to buy double layer dvds? If so, can all dvd burners burn to double layer?
Any help is appreciated…
you need to buy double layer DVDs and a burner capable of burning those. Not all can do that,
You could also rip out stuff you dont want.
Say a DVD has 8 hours of extras, like cast interviews and whatnot, you can get rid of those. Also, dubs and subs for languages you dont wanna hear or see take up a lot of space.
^^ Gotcha. Not sure if my dvd player can burn double layer, but I bought it 3 months ago so it should imo. Thanks a lot tho…
Maybe I’ll just take out tha extra stuff like you said…
download the free version.
the free version is up there.
i said…
the pay version isn’t much better than the free one… actually, the pay one is the free one, with tech support and a program that takes up a shit load more ram.
I need a high end desktop replacement notebook and dell xps m1710’s are hella overpriced (can’t run geforce 8600 SLI cards to my knowledge so can someone confirm this?)and was thinking about building one myself so can any of yall gimme some helpful links/book suggestions to help me get started.
edit: would building my own notebook be more expensive or less?
building your own notebook is out of the question.
you want something high end and cheap? well…
first, let me get something straight. you want to replace your desktop with a notebook?
ok, do me a favor…
write down, what you’re looking for. just fill out this little thing…
CPU:
RAM:
HDD Space:
VGA: (I might not be able to get exact, but I’ll look for something comparable)
Budget:
I’ll see what I can do, and I’ll try to get you the best deal for the money. I’ve been doing this for all the high school kids I work with that are off to college over the past three months, so even though I haven’t shopped for a notebook in years for myself, I’m pretty well off on knowing what’s out there todya.
Use a program called DVD Shrink. It will compress and then allow you to take out what you don’t want so as to allow the picture quality to be increased. No need for Dual layer unless you are a perfectionist.
security q: if i want to purchase something online how can i be sure it’s safe. i hear having the lock on the site doesn’t automatically make it safe.
Alright, so I went to Radioshack and the guy gave me a 1/8 stereo miniplug to 1/2 stereo miniplug audio cable. This fits into my green and blue ports, but when I hit record on sound recorder, it’s not detecting anything. Is the cable wrong or is something wrong with the sound recorder? Along with that, sound recorder only goes up to 1 minute, I need like 5 so am I able to lengthen that?
*EDIT: Alright, looks like on my pc it’s the pink port instead of the blue. Still wondering about the time though and it’s slightly fuzzy, am I able to make it clearer?
I’ve had this happen before, you install a program and somehow the files to uninstall it become corrupted, or deleted, or whatever. You try to remove the program via add/remove programs and it simply won’t do it, you click Remove and it just gives you an error telling you the programs uninstall software is broken. Well no shit.
I currently have ‘PowerDVD’ somewhere on my computer. If it had PowerDVD, Power DVD, Cyberlink or anything else in the name or folder, it has been deleted. My guess is, every file relating to it has been removed, but Add/Remove programs and windows still recognize it as ‘being there,’ somewhere.
I’m trying to install a new version of it, and it won’t work. It says to install you have to uninstall the previous version, same error message, etc etc. So really, I need to know how to just forcefully tell windows to get the old software OFF of my computer so I can install the new version. To my knowledge, all the files have already been deleted.
Alternatively, is there any way I can install the program to my 500g external harddrive, or to my 120g internal harddrive, without having to run the check that tries to figure out whether or not ‘PowerDVD’ exists on the C drive where my windows information is. Can I just install it to another drive, ignoring that there’s fragments of it… somewhere… on my C drive?
Extremely aggravating, being that I have the file to install the new version, and it won’t work because files that don’t exist won’t uninstall…
lower the volume that you’re playing the video at. you’re probably clipping the sound. also:
start > control panel > sounds / audio device > advanced > adjust the microphone settings. you might see something there that says “Line-In” and that’s the blue port.
Alright, but can I record for more than just one minute?
it’s only letting you go for a minute? strange…
get a program called soundforge… torrent that shit down.
lol, gotcha, thanks a lot for the help.
