I’ll try to install it again, because I tried following the instructions of another thread and I was completely lost. My only problem is that I don’t know how to connect online, I already have the game for the ggpo software running good.

I got 3S on GGPO, but don’t know how to install anything else. Only reason I got 3S was because I watched a YouTube video that walked me through it.
All you have to do is save the rom into the folder that you have your 3s rom in.

My question is, why would I bother with all of this when I also have OE? Besides its not like GGPO will make me able to play against people from America without bigg ass rollback lag.
I’ve noticed that you have been complaining about the lack of competition on PSN. There’s actually a fairly decent European player base on GGPO! And depending on your computer/internet, GGPO actually runs better than OE.
Concerning the rollback lag, I’m east coast USA, but I have very playable connections with the majority of Europe.

I am not able to watch the video right now, but from my understanding 3S was taken off GGPO when OE was released for consoles. Have they allowed it to come back? I never played 3S much on GGPO, mainly ST. For whatever reason back in the day I could not get it to work properly on there consistently, but was able to get it to work properly on MAME++. If anything I’ve said here is factually incorrect it’s out of simple ignorance, please educate. Thanks.
Part of the reason that a decent chunk of the player base dropped was because of OE’s arrival, having people prefer to play on console, and the other part was because 3S on GGPO went incognito mode via Karnov’s Revenge. So while technically 3S never left GGPO, it did go through a change.
As for consistency, GGPO connections can be spotty at times, pay attention to the part on quirkiness in the latter parts of the video.

Isn’t 3s on ggpo technically illegal, now that OE is out? It is in a secret renamed room, I doubt Ponder (creator of GGPO) approves.

They removed it 2 years ago because it might have impeded in the sales of OE. 2 years after the case, I don’t believe the existence of 3S on GGPO would have any affect anymore. I don’t think it had much effect to begin with even then, but I suppose that opinion is largely irrelevant to their decision making.
