Must only effect us color geniuses; cause Eidrian canāt even get it to run at all.
-edit-
;D. Funny how I contradict myself.
Just message me if you got something wrong. I may be able to help.
:looney:
Appreciated dudeā¦canāt get Sand Hill Zone out ov my head after studying those vidsā¦thanxā¦
Now hereās a problemā¦I burn my custom mix correctly with all steps done right (echelon method with MSDOS)ā¦so why the hell is the DC reading it as a music CD and NEVER booting up the actual ISO?
Damn I used to have that problem, in the end I had to convert CDI to NRG and burn it with Nero. :annoy:
Can somebody please tell me where and how you copy paste these strings into the PalMod? Iāve been trying to find out where your supposed to or how, but i canāt.
In PalMod go to edit Select All, or manually click drag and select all the boxes. Youāll know their all selected because they will be outlined in red. Then copy the string from this thread, go back to PalMod and edit > paste. Simple as that.
Okay for example, so i first open up a character data, like 17 cable. Have it on preview to see the character. Then i click on edit select all. I Then copy the string on here. I try to paste, but the option to paste does not work. Only copy worksā¦
I get that all the time when I try to copy them from AIM in particular, what works for me is, copy it from the thread, paste it into a word document, then recopy it and try to paste it. Also make sure ur not copying any extra blank spaces before or after.
It still desnāt let me paste. Your supposed go to file load rom, and load up the PL00_DAT file rite? then i do select allā¦then highlight and copy (#10000F8DFF28DF059F025FFC9FD96FFFFFBBBF777F555FEEEFBBBF888F555FF22)
Including the # rite? then i go back and hit editā¦wtfā¦it just let me pasteā¦
okay, well thanks for all your help man i think it worked just after i pasted the string onto here?
Everything inside the () - copy ALL OF IT. From what you said, it looks like you were only doing #1920ui03j0j as opposed to (#!ojdfoij0890) like you were supposed to ().
I do Load Directory, and browse to my data folderā¦loads everyone in 1 shot.
Yes copy the ( ) as well.
Good shit, sometimes itās annoying like that. Iāve had times where it would not take any pasting for no apparent reason.
Ok⦠hereās the updated skinny on making your own Super Turbo custom soundtrack:
[]ANY ip.bin will work.
[]You can BINHACK your 1st_read.bin (this might be necessary to generate a usable ip.bin), but then you MUST:
[]Open 1st_read.bin in your hex editor of choice
[]Go to where it says āCD001ā and find your LBA (if itās 11702, look for 2E5A0000, and remember it)
[]CHANGE the 2E5A0000 to 6EB00000
[]Go to address 21D444. THIS is where the LBA information actually goes. If you need 11702, make this 2E5A0000.

Once youāve done this, you can use the rest of the Echelon tutorial as you see fit. The only thing to worry about is taking space on the disk. If you know how to resize the dummy that comes in ST, you should be good to go.
Yup
Why do the BINHACK at all? If you have a translated version of ST (i.e. TDC Final v2), you have lots of ip.bins right there on the disc that will work perfect. Just figure out if you need a different LBA, hexedit the address, and be done. Theres no need to add the extra 2-3 steps.
A few notes for anyone who wants a standalone ST:
- Grab the ADXās from the original Echelon release. Any ADXās on the TDC version have been scrunched down for size. Might as well use the originals for any you dont replace with your own music.
- Translated ST is in the folder \TST\ on the TDC disc.
- There are regular and arranged versions of music for each stange. For each version, there is the normal music and the ātenseā music when someone gets knocked below 25% life. If you use youāre own music, be aware that the ātenseā music will interupt the original music at any point.
- There is a folder on the disc with some rough notes about what each adx is for. Mostly a best guess, some info may be off, but its a good starting point.
Good luck.
Well, when I -didnāt- do the binhack, it coastered on me. Read ip.bin, but not 1st_read.bin (showed SEGA logo, but booted me to the main DC menu). After binhacking and changing the changed string, it worked. Why? Beats me. All I know is it worked like that.
Also, hereās how the ADXes for ST are named:
- An A_ file is the ānear deathā (also called āpinchā) music. For example: A_GOU_D6.ADX
- An E_ is an ending. See E_CHU_26.ADX
- S_ is Stage. The normal version. S_CAM_0E.ADX, for instance.
- Most of the others are self-explanitory, except for TOCYU. This is āHere Comes A New challenger!!ā. SEAT_C3.ADX is also a bit odd, being STās character select.
- All files have their sound code at the end, with the leading 00 chopped.
- Character names are shortened to 3 letters using japanese names: RYU, HON, BLA, GUI, KEN, CHU, ZAN, DHA, BIS, BAR (remember the voice: āBarlog wins!ā), SAG, VEG, FEI, CAM, THA, DEE and GOU. The one exception is T.Hawkās ending. There, itās TEE.
- There is also a NET.ADX, but youāll probably never hear it played. My guess is itās for the Matching Service, when waiting for a game.
So now whoās going to figure out how to edit palettes on ST?
Well, if itāll help any, I noticed ALL characters and colors use 16 levels of r/g/b.
But why youād want to even THINK about mucking about with the godliness that is the Super Turbo palettes⦠well, thatās something I just canāt understand.
Their not ALL godly.
I just started messing with palmod today, is anyone else unable to preview their colors? for some reason it doesnāt let me click on it.
Did you load the directory with the characters?
If so, I donāt knowā¦I ran into that issue before when I had 2 PalMods running at the same time, so I just closed and reopened and it worked fine.
