Anyone?
so really whats the trick to making the announcer not skip and the select screen not skip?
ive made the dummy so that total it is as close to 700MB total as possible, but i still get those skips…
anyone
You sure the dummy file is at the beginning of the ISO? The dummy file is usually named something starting with the a zero, like ‘000.txt’ or ‘0dummy.bin’ or some crap. As long as you aren’t telling it to sort, it should automatically place the dummy file first, pushing the real game data out where its faster to read.
lol well my dummy file is just called dummy.bin
so youre telling me i should change it to 0dummy.bin before i burn the image file?
Yes. Unless told otherwise, the programs will put everything on the disk in alphabetical order; since ADX*.* comes before ‘D*.*’, your dummy file didnt push the sounds out where its easier to read. Rename it to 0dummy.bin and try again.
wow worked like a charm… good shit…
Huh? Dummy files? Tutorial I used made no mention of dummy files…I’m so confused. (unless you’re talking about a different version of MvC2 or CvS2)…
DC, not PS2. I dont know crap about PS2.
Ahhh dangit.
So far I have a techno mix, gangsta rap mix, and just recently created a ‘dramatic classical music’ mix. I think I will do an anime music mix next, or perhaps a movie music mix. Btw, this may be useful for you creating your own music. This is the list of songs, and the number of seconds they play. If you have time on, the S0* songs will just repeat after they finish until they reach 170 seconds. I made a perl program to take my ADX*.wav files and convert them to bin + looping on the S0* songs. If anyone wants, I can post.

Hi, first of all, thanks for the tuto, it works very good with mvsc2 but…doesn’t work with my CvS2, i don’t knwo why :crybaby:
i do all the same as mvsc2, but doesnt work, i tried with a lot of programs, but still doesn’t work
i already have a selfboot CD of the game, i download it, and works perfectly
but my custom dont work >_<, after the sega logo, looks like’s going to run, but i get back to dreamcast menu, i tried to make it no bootable and load it with utopia, the cd is recognized as capcom vs snk 2, but doesn’t work too!
anyone know what the hell is happening? all the files i get are from my selfboot image that i download
Sorry for my english, i’m from spain
If you see the Sega logo, and then it goes to the Dreamcast menu, it means you IP.BIN worked, but your 1ST_READ.BIN didn’t. Either you’re not using the correct 1ST_READ.BIN, your IP.BIN is giving a filename for the boot file that isn’t 1ST_READ.BIN, the 1ST_READ.BIN is missing, or the 1ST_READ.BIN is not BINHACKed to the correct LBA on the disc.
Just go through the directions EXACTLY, slowly, step by step, making no assumptions, and you should get it just fine. You’re either missing a step you should take, or taking a step you shouldn’t.
thanks, but i already do it a few times, i wasted 14 cds exactly, would you mind send me the correct 1ST_READ.BIN and the correct IP.BIN? i think maybe is that, because the selfboot version that work on me, doesn’t have IP.BIN, and the 1ST_READ maybe is hacked or something
I will not. The 1ST_READ.BIN on your selfboot copy should work fine, and you can find an IP.BIN a bunch of places. Good luck.
Ssf2x
Oh yeah, for those who want to make custom SSF2X, remember that Toodles said you need an audio.raw with 298 sectors to burn instead of the common one everyone uses for MvC2. Here is a link the the 298 sector audio.raw needed for burning SSF2X:
http://dhost.info/combomasher/ssf2x/audioSSF2X.raw
"Right click on link to download"
I already made a custom Mark of the Wolves for PS2 and it works perfectly?
I have the same problem with 1st_read.bin. I already tried with 3 different 1st_read.bin from 3 copies, but it’s always the same shit.
Is it possible to change the voice of the announcer? I want to change that ‘this is gonna be a match to remember’ to something funny
Good for you, here’s your cookie of uncertainty.
Then you’re missing a step in the instructions. This isn’t some elaborate hoax; this shit works. If its not working for you, you’re doing something wrong. Walk through it, taking a ton of screenshots or recording the screen with Camtasia, then we’d have a chance of telling you what you did wrong. If the only information you can give is ‘it don’t work’, then the only help we can provide is ‘you’re doing it wrong’.
A number of the .ADX files include that annoying announcer, including 4 out of the 5 win quote screens, the ‘here comes a new challenger, you must crush them’, and the opening attact screen. Those you can replace, sure. There are a bunch of others that are not ADX’s that we cant remove or replace, such as ‘Capcom’ at the beginning of the attract screen, the quotes during the match (‘thats what we call big damage’, ‘calm before the storm’, blah blah), the ‘this is what the world has been waiting for’ intro, and the ‘this is gonna be a match to remember…Fight’ intros.
hmm does anyone know where i can find the XDP DreamPassport browser? i know Toodles had a link for it to his site before but the link is no longer availble.
