Arrgghh. I downloaded it and it’s corrupt. Unless I’m doing something wrong?
Prolly doing it wrong. BitTorrent uses hash checking and can’t download corrupt files. Use WinRAR to unrar the .cdi out of the files, burn the .cdi at low speed, and you’re golden.
EDIT: Re-dl’ed and it’s great!
My first post by the way and a Noob needs help
OK I have tried dozens of times (Yes I read the guides) on how to make my Custom MVC 2 CD Selfboot but when I pop it into my dreamcast it either goes to Sega screen before going black (In which case I have to reset the DC) Or it goes to Sega screen, goes black, and goes right back to the options screen;Hell sometimes the disc doesn’t even spin. Here is a list of the things I tried…(Yes very Noobish i’ll admit)
1.Deleting the IP.Bin and 1st_read.bin and replaced it with the ones from the selfboot folder, then created a dummy file using DummyFile.exe, then created the iso using CDRWIN,I use bootdreams to make it selfboot (Dummy file option is off)
2.Same as #1 but Instead of creating an iso I use bootdreams,I locate the CD folder, and proceed to make a CDI out of it.
3.Same as #1 but Instead I use (ExoSkeleton GUI I believe) to make a cdi
4.Same as #1 but Instead I use Dir2boot to make a cdi
5.Tried deleting the IP.Bin but in order to make a cdi Bootdreams makes one for me anyway.
And there you have it,I have dozens of times to get this to work and nothing happens. Can someone please help me out?
And so what happens when you follow the directions on combomasher’s tutorial?
I actually did try it once, it worked, but It wouldn’t selfboot.
UPDATE! I have just discovered the DummyFile maker only made the Dummy about 1 mb So I increased it to 300.Wether this makes a difference I have no idea.
EXCELLENT NEWS!:It FINALLY Runs…Wow…I am just laughing so at how dumb I just made my self look Well the only problem I have is that game runs slow, should I make it the same size as the regular dummy file?
Any advice for me on my Custom CVS2? (I’m no noob at this, as I successfully Modded MVC2 multiple times.) I keep encountering the same problem, and I’m running out of CD-R’s.
You should make the dummy file a similar size to what’s left on the disc… The probelm comes from there being empty space which in turn makes the games run slower, or even not at all. So yeah, fill all 700MB with game data AND dummy data…
Work with the directions I posted for GOLD-NZ a few pages back, and figure out what the same problem you’re running into is.
So I can only fill up to 700 not over 700 (765) in order for it to run correctly?
I honestly don’t know how to get it to run any faster
I’m lookin to buy a used DC again and get back into customizing MvC2 heh. I seem to recall something about needing a certain model number or manufacturing date on the bottom of the Dreamcast in order for it to read CD-Rs, or for MvC2 customs to work or whatever.
Anybody know what I’m talkin about?
Some people think that ones made after a certain data (December 2000 IIRC) wont boot cd-r’s, or specifically, access an LBA less than 45000 (the LBA used on the original GD-ROMs). I have yet to see this to be true, but you’d have to look pretty far and wide to see a DC made after that.
In this thread was there ever an explanation as to why using adxencd or DKZ causes errors?
I can’t seem to convert any wav to adx at all.
Can someone help?
adxencd works fine for me.
Damn I think this is the actual speed for my Marvel Vs Capcom…thought it would be faster based on what I seen on youtbe :\
i dont know why but when i try to make the .iso file from cdrwin, i get an error saying that no supported CDROM recorder was found on the system.
edit:
nvm i miss read something in the directions.
OK I FINALLY got the You Win song to play correctly, along with speed, now I have one problem whenever you save or select an option the Main Menu song freezes up.
can I just pay someone to do this for me? lol
So I made one for my friend, and it doesn’t work in his DC but it worked in mine. Any ideas?
dc’s made in 2002 and up I think don’t play burned games. Theres a sticker underneath the dc that has the manufacture date. I had to learn this the hard way because I bought one that was 2002.
there could be multiple reasons just throwing one out there.
