Complete "How to Change the Music in MVC2 + How to make your game selfboot" Thread

Hey good plan, it might pay off. Knowing which files are exactly for what and how to edit them would be very cool to know. Let me know if he gets back with some information on it. If we can get something to work from we might actually be able to edit marvel even more. How awesome would custom character colors be?

Well, even if we did locate what the files are for, there is still a chance we wouldnt be able to do anything anyway. The files would probablly be a finished file that couldnt be edited in their existing form, we would have to have the original working file to work with.

Like with Flash files for example. While you are working on a Flash animation or whatever, the file is saved as a .swf file. But when you export it for the world to see it is saved as a finished .fla file, and you cant edit .fla files because its a finished file. You could only edit that file if you had the original .swf. Get what I am trying to say?

Who know’s though, there might be a chance and I am all for it!

i get the pop-up “no supported cdrom recorder was found on the system”, anyone else get this?

First question:
You gotta copy all the files from the CD to your desktop, then replace the files with your new adx songs. Then you gotta burn back all those files to a new CD. Its all explained here http://dhost.info/combomasher/index.html

2nd question:
go to http://www.goldenhawk.com/ , you can try at the home site of the program. They should have a listing of compatible drives and maybe a solution etc…

i did that step already. I get the pop-up when using cdrwin. this happens because it doesnt recognize my newer cd burner?

its not only u …i get that also with cdrwin and i dont know what do to…it used to work with my old pc but since i got my new pc thats all it says when i try and burn

Site is gonna be updated soon with a new layout and something special to help convert and loop your songs.

after completing all the steps on both the website and on the step by step videos both times i get an error message in cdrwin that says
"ERROR: ‘WRITE’ command failed on device 1,0,0 Illegal command request (04H 00h 02h 05h 21h 00h"

am i burning it wrong or did i miss a step during the command prompt or what’s happening

seems liks there’s a problem with cdrwin, are you using the latest version of cdrwin? MAybe try uninstalling it and re-installing it again.

i have actually used 4 different versions 3.5, 4.0B, 4.0C, and 3.9A. i have used up about 13 cdr’s now. needless to say it’s a bit aggrivating. i also tried using the discjuggler method, which was successful on burning the cd but gets stuck at the dreamcast screen with the swirly thing.

Site Updated!!!

Alright well the site has been updated and a special script to help with converting and looping your song files has been released(created by me). Hope you enjoy it and give some feed back. God I hope everything works right…

Hey, I have a few questions since I just finished the tutorial and my disc doesn’t work.

I followed all the instructions, but the only one that really stumps me is the “Dummy File” area. Say if the file I have is 350 mbs before the dummy file, what do I do? Do I put 250 in the number box to add it up to 600 and then make it an ISO?

Also, the file I got was a file that was already edited with music, would that affect anything? I deleted the 1st_read.bin file and the dummy file, would it just be the same way?

FOr the dummt yeah thats about right. You just dont wanna go over 700mb in the end basically to be safe. So try and stick below 700mb for the final size. As for your Mvc2 file, the file already having being edited with new music wont affect it. Just do all the steps and it should work out the same.

You can delete the dummy file all you want, but the 1st_read.bin is the main program; you must have one on your disc or it won’t work. Go ahead and delete the dummy file, and use that version you already have with the edited music, and go through combomasher’s directions exactly, you’ll be fine.

Check the download section of the new site. It’s there in a zipped file called Bin2boot.zip. its in the selfboot.zip file too, its called selfboot.exe.

i got mvc2 from torrent, its already got everything in it from what i can tell. hte music has already been changed, theres a dummy file in it. i m having a lot of trouble burning it to a disk though. im thinking maybe the overall size is too big, its over 740 mbs total. ive tried using nero and that juggler one, neither worked :annoy:

The disc being 740mb could be the problem. WHy dont you delete the dummy file and try making the dummy file like 50mb smaller then what it currently is. Just stay under 700mb, make a test burn without a dummy file just to see if it works, then add the dummy file.

^-- I don’t think I ever knew the disc wasn’t supposed to be over 700MB total. I may be able to burn these again thanks to you. <3!

Hey, thanks, I got it to work.
Now I just need a good list of songs…

I’m experiencing the same issues with CDRWIN in that iy says the drive on my new comp is unsupported. the old drive like the old comp are long gone and the latest version of the software seems far less funcional. I even serialized it to see if it would unlockother features. no luck. I’ve also tried using nero 7 and roxio easy CD creator also with no luck.

in the instructions involving disk juggler which also does support my drive with the version provided has steps that also revolve around CDRWIN. are there drivers somewhere for the older SW so I can run the old program with new hardware? is there other software that we can use? this is getting very frusterating as my coasters have been piling up like crazy.

Any solution would be greatly appriciated.

For the record, the comp is an HP with a lightscribe DVD burner. if people need the model number, I can provide. thanks in advance
