alright guys let’s not start this again, if you are going to post real constructive criticism then post, but if your going to post real negativity then don’t ruin this thread by posting it, we all have different styles of blending colors and if you are going to post your opinion do it in a non-offensive way

I was making a most used mix for my group of friends, I want to release a public version eventually, but I wanted opinions on the template.

I agree and that is one of the things I worked on in regards to this current mix. I took the time to blend the colors. I use actual RGB values to use colors that blend well and aren’t obtrusive. I have never had anyone not be able to play my mix because color “hurt their eyes” or whatever.

For the record, I appreciate constructive critism (good or bad), but when you have those that stir up shit just to be a pain, they receive no type of reprieve from me.

Like I said before, my mixes aren't meant for tournaments if you can't deal with colors that are different from the originals. I don't care for Capcom to have a light blue corridor. We've been looking at that for 8+ years now. If a red corridor distracts you, so be it.

But, answer this question: How many of us make mixes and do ALL the characters? Not just top/high tiers? Who else even bothers with Shuma, Kobun, Roll, BB Hood, etc?How many editors?

Will my mix be the best looking one? Probably not. That’s not the title I am going for. I’ll gladly shoot for “Most consistently complete Mixes”.

With the right critique, I can only get better.

And I agree that not to many people have complete mixes, I am not one of those people, I dont have a new mix every few weeks I have one mix and ive been working on it since palmod came out, ive been trying to make the best mix I could possibly make that include every single character even the ones that are a pain in the ass to edit , I burn it think im done and see something I dont like and go back to palmod and look for something better, and ive been doing that for a wile now. I suggest you try that you’ll slowly see your mixes getting better and better. Dont get all butt hurt just cuz you dont like what I have to say bro, was it the nerd alert comment that got your panties all in a twist?:wonder:

Actually, it was the comments before. I have nothing against you at all, Smooth. I recall you started out pretty cool, then began ripping into people (Including me, unprovoked) for whatever reason. Like I said, I got not problem with constructive crit, but saying I have the “worst mix” of the bunch is far from constructive. You can see why that can be taken personal.

    Check the first couple sentences I wrote. I am REDOING my first mix. Bigger and better. I have only done two mixes since I started editing in March. The second one was the one on the SRK mix. Yes, it could have been a lot better. I know that. I learned  a lot as I was completing that mix and a lot more since then. That mix was finished at least 2 months ago. 

Smooth I completely understand taking time on your mixes.I felt like that when I finished the SRK one. That one took about 2-3 months, but my inexperience in blending is, what I feel, hindered it. 

Honestly, I would like to hear your constructive critism on my current mix, Smooth. It’s not a match mix (which you stated you don’t care for) but the DC characters match in theory. If you check the characters I have in that list, you all will see the MvC2 characters has similarities to their counterpart. It should be fun…

there’s one thing i’m not too crazy about, and that’s unreallistic skin tones, like making storm’s face green. now that’s detracting, alongside the purple cape.

that EVO 2k8 mix to the right in the pic is a prime example.

I was trying to figure out a font that would work with your name, since it’s so long, if the font isn’t big enough, it looks shitty (as i found out when I used my mix av’s on the last mix). I figured unless someone wanted to name it, I’d use their forum name (dvdrummer for instance), but it was named phantom, so I just went with that.

It’s your mix though. Would you prefer it named something else?

I understand that. Storm can be modified only so much, but it bothers some more than others. I’m not too terribly concerned with her face as long as the coloring is blended well together.

But I actually attempted to not fuck with her too much this time.

I was trying to find a way to show a little of the mix so it’s easier to make a choice. Instead of adding the actual sprites, I’m working on another way, as to be able to add more mixes.

I wanted to make the selection screen a little less planetweb-ish.

…ok…I just tried to burn the SRK compilation mix using Alcohol 120 (on the slowest speed setting and not changing any other options) and it’s not booting up on my DC…what am I doing wrong here?
