No problem, and try to load the final cdi using the emulator so you don’t ruin another CD on my account.
lol ok
ok bin2boot says a record cannot be found. ugh…when i type in 1st_read.bin
You followed: http://dhost.info/combomasher/echiso.php
Changed the extension of data.iso into data.bin
Ran selfboot.exe and dragged data.bin into the window
Then it asked you about the 1st_read.bin?
Yes and it now tells me there is no boot record for 1st_read.bin
I believe I used the 1st_read.bin and IP.bin that came with the already working selfboot. Thus skipping the creation of the IP.bin part, so I would assume it’s there that the issue lies, I’ll look around for something to help, and post it if 1) nobody else has solved it 2) I can even find it.
Thank you.
can any1 tell mii the soundtrack to the mix that was used when sanford and yipes played ft 10 (aKa Battle of the Strongest)
should i be leaving the ip file in the data folder before i burn the iso?
My suggestion would be to try your original IP.bin and 1st_read.bin, and by original I mean the ip and 1st read that worked on the copy of the game you’re using pre-your edits. See if that works, if not, I’m not someone else more knowledgeable on the subject will need to help you with it.
Took a cursory glance at the thread, and Toodles had a step by step of the echelon, but I acidentally closed the tab.
Good luck.
video tutorial
Oh wow never knew there was a video tutorial for this :amazed:. Good looks
the ip and the 1st_read.bin should be in the data file before you make the iso. and you don’t burn the iso because after you make it your suppose to make it from .iso to . bin and then open the selfboot.exe program and drag the bin into the small window
would someone mind sending me a working iso to work with. I just can’t for the life of me figure it out. Im leaning towards this being a bad disc. The lba when i used cdirip was 11701, so i dunno. any help would be appreciated. Im about ready to give up
Why would you use 11701?? Why aren’t you using the LBA returned by ‘cdrecord -msinfo’?
Just read the tutorial, its pretty hands on.
or use exoboot…
no what i was saying is thats what the msinfo told me about the disc. I didnt use it i used 11702, but the disc still didnt boot.
the problem i have is it keeps reverting between sega and the dreamcast sign. its stuck in a loop and never actually boots the game.
You probably didn’t make the dummy file big enough. I always use 300mb size of a dummy anything below my dreamcast usually wont co-operate with.
