Complete "How to Change the Music in MVC2 + How to make your game selfboot" Thread

So if any of you will be at Evo I will bring a few copies of my mix. IMO it fucking kills 95% of the mixes out there.

We can trade mixes over AIM and test that claim, Pablo.

Heh, I guess my mix is one ov the 5% then…>>…I haven’t had the edits circulated for a reason ya know…will you be showing up at SBIII? Only then will my creation be judged…

…and no, I’m not trying to be a pompous ass!!

Ill be bringing mine too, we can trade it you want.

After Evo I want to do more crazy color variations, just have not had time. My current mix is sort of basic, but done very well. It originally started as a joke where they were all gang colors but I sort of kept it going for all of the characters except Shuma because that guy is a bitch.

Get that stuff up to Preppy so we can have it all on one disc. Put your edits up to the Pepsi challenge with everyone else.

Y’all can make prettier edits all you want. NO ONE makes more useful compilations than yours truly

Can I get your set two hp color?

Yeah I should get him a copy, we live in the same city! But yes, I bow down to you. I play on your discs every damn week!

Hey!! Define useful…

Does this look familiar? Linkypic

bows repeatedly to King Toodles

pretty cool… did you do the 3s/cvs2/mvc2/soundtrack mixer one? where you could play mvc2 with 3s music or vice verca.

Sounds like you mean the first version, v1. Did that too, but v2 is soooo much better in so many ways, there’s no reason to play the first one.

Toodles, how difficult would it be for me to redo that compilation with my Marvel mix? I figure you can rip to CPU, replace char and music , drop in a new IP, 1st read, dummy and I’m good to go?

Where can I get that?

Frankly, it’d be harder than rebuilding the collection from scratch because you’d have to figure out what is linked where, delete the copies, link them to an original, figure out what to put into the first session so the LBA is EXACTLY 45000, and someone manage to do all of that without adding more than 100K of data else you’ll go over the size of the CD.

If I were you, I’d forget entirely about changing the music, find the original palette hex codes for the edits you’ve made, and hexedit the .CDI file to change the original palette hex codes to your edited ones. That’d be LOADS easier than trying to rebuild it.

My friend use to have a copy of that

I not only have a copy, but the .cdi file. Beautiful compilation, T.

OK, the tally at this point:

  • the Geronimo mixes
  • Pablo’s Rap/Trance mix
  • JonnyQuest’s colors
  • DVDrummer’s colors
  • my Michael Jackson mix

There may be a mix from Doc coming in. I also have Big3d’s v2 mix, but I don’t know how he feels about that mix.

If anybody else is left out here with a good mix, please speak up very quickly since it’s almost the Wednesday deadline.

i love mj mix
