Putting it all packaged together is pretty easy. The ‘hard’ part, or at least the time consuming part, is the menus. I’ll probably put the edits together using submitter’s avatar(s). If avatar images would be included with the batches of files, that’d make things a ton easier. If Wednesday is the cutoff, I can easily have it ready for Evo on Friday, it’s just a question if there will be enough time for copies to be burned. If you think there will be, Wednesday is fine by me.
Bare files please. No .ISO or .CDI, just the .BIN stuff, both color edited character files and music files, already properly named ready to build. If its not edited, don’t include it; if you didn’t change the music for one particular stage, fine, but don’t include the unedited original music in your files.
Your avatar will go with it on the disc, so be sure to test your shit out.
EDIT: If you want to have a splash screen showing off some of the color edits (like Showing the black and white MSP team that is selected with the Assist A button, and other color coordinated teams), make a single .JPG, 567x340 in size (and not one pixel more). I’ll throw a ‘back’ and ‘click to play’ on top of it, and that’ll be the last screen before it runs.
I’m thinking it’ll boot up to a screen with a collection of avatars and a ‘Original Version’ picture, people click on the Avatar for the mix they want, they see that splash screen I described, and click again to start the game.
I know a VMU save should be on it as well. Anything else? Gameshark, Super Turbo, what? What else is being played on DC this year?
BTW for anyone having issues with the whole audio conversion thing I recommend GoldWave. Easy to use and works in batches so you don’t have to convert files one by one. It also let’s you add extra instructions to the process so you can for example convert to wav and bring up volume 150% all in one shot.
I’m super late to the party here, and I just can’t get the burning part right. I followed the pdf instructions, and the cdi image loads perfectly in nullDC, playable and smooth. Burning with DJ with the instructions from the pdf, I get the DC logo, then the DC home screen. Click on ‘Play’ and it repeats. I’ve double checked the pdf for possible missed steps and couldn’t find any. The fact that it loads in nullDC just fine makes me think I’m missing something in DJ, but I’ve double checked the pdf instructions and everything’s set the way it says. Can anyone point me to the place I messed up?
I didn’t realize that it was a 16bit application. As far as I know, this won’t work on 64bit bit operating systems: you’d have to either use a mate’s 32bit system or get a 32 or 64bit version of the app. =\
item this is a really dumb problme i’ve been having, but i’m new at this so here goes.
i have all the proper files as i’m able to open/edit the default character palettes just fine, but when it comes to saving my edits i don’t know how to go about it.
What does ‘patch’ mean? And where does it save my new palette sets to?
Thanks in advance, I spent wayyyy too much time making dope colors only to save them to nowhere apparently.
