you don’t know how to do that? on my computer i hold voice activator and say “copy page.” and it does it and automatically saves it as .png under my pictures folder. it’s fucking awesome! :woot:

I just started messing around with this stuff today, my first few attempts. I notice some of them look like stuff that’s already been done (Geronimo putting in mad work!), but at this point that can’t be helped.

you guys should try using this program http://www.mirekw.com/winfreeware/mwsnap.html for taking screen shots (png format) like the ones on the site. it saves me time in updating the html code

I actually did all of mine the old school way…PalMod preview [Alt]+[PrtSc], paste into MSPaint.

Problem

Using a self boot copy of mvc2 (a cdi) i followed all the stops… burned it and the DC starts up and proceeds to sega screen and then restarts… wtf?

it’s not the DC dying cause it plays my other backups fine.

could the cdi i got not be self boot?

Does the mvc2 in toodle’s TDCfinal2 work as a base version?

Could it be a bad 1st_read.bin?

if everything went right your storm should now be Throwing fire when you push fierce punch or whenever you do lightning storm or typhoons. The only drawback is that the hail, lightning and the typhoons are shared for all the buttons. Also to get the complete effect that she is really throwing out fire you have to color the extras that correspond to the color each character turns when they get hit by lightning (or anything that makes them turn blue). This color is blue as we all know, so we have to make them turn orange just like if they were getting hit by a yoga flame. This extra is going to be almost the same number for all of them but i’m not sure. I only did it for the top tiers and their assists

coloring the special moves for Magneto, cable, sentinel, cpt commando, is easy. Storm is the one that took me a while to know what each of the extras was for. hope i get credit for this if nobody else has done it before me, if somebody has, oh well lets move on then, next lets try to modify the sound effects and then the stages and then lets add new moves and then…

Been monitoring the topic lately, using palmod i thought that all you did was select the palattes from your mvc2 rom/cdi or w/e you wanna call it, do you just edit the palattes in the boxes? or is there something you need to do as with binary and offsets? Iz confused =/

Of the stuff I was tinkering with yesterday afternoon, this one came out the best, I think.

Still needs some work. I’m not sure about the black/gold color scheme overall, and I could use more red in the repulsor blast (looks weird in motion) and ditto the light on WM if I can, need to change the smart bombs’ color when they explode, etc. Also I need more orange in some of the beams, and c.FP/s.FP are too pink. But otherwise decent.

-Select the right pallate files (you may want to copy/paste 2 sets into different folders- one to mod, and one in case you want the OGs around for some reason)

-Start up PalMod and load them up (you can load them all at once so you can just scroll through

-Copy/paste them back into the mvc2 folder

-Do whatever you would normally do to play Marvel; in my case I stuff I mess around with the file and burn a new copy, since I don’t have any Dreamcast emulators.

As an aside, I don’t have the color code for that one since I didn’t plan on using it in my own Marvel edit, but I think it goes without saying that the psychological impact of that would be overwhelming to the opponent.

The Gold War Machine 2.0 is kool with the red proj.'s (I’d try to implement another color into those at some point to make them stand out even more) but I would stray away from Gold/Black color edits cause EVERYONE AND THEIR BROTHERS are using it…

I have an old 1962 version of MvC2 that requires a boot disc to play.

…is it possible to customize the songs and character colors on this disk?

I read about all the selfboot talk and I would like to avoid locating a new MvC2 iso/cdi file.

Does anyone have any great MvC2 edits they’d like to share on megaupload or a torrent? I’d like to try some great edits.
