Competitive gaming is stupid?

I agree 98% with everything in the video. Just showing up to tournaments doesn’t mean shit. Winning makes you good, not spectating.

N

I agree, but it still gets me t’d off that he only spoke his/her “opinion” on one side of it. Seriously, if your going to bitch about something make sure you can back up your word by explaining both sides of the story.

If I was premium I’d fucking rep this guy.

But all his videos arent bad, I personally enjoyed Ryu’s quest for poontang.

He’s probably just someone from outside the competitive gaming scene judging people that play in tournies. He’s definitely not a smash player cause I have been around some of the best smash players and they’ve never made anybody feel unwelcomed. Matt Deezie used to run the big TG smash tournies and he would house close to 70 people in a 4 bedroom 2 story house. My friend Recipherus would invite anybody to his house to play. We’re talking about the best smash player in the country inviting anybody regardless of skill level and I myself will go practically anywhere to meet new smashers and show them advance play.

If he does play tournies I bet he just keeps scrubbing out and blames it on the community for taking the game too seriously or something

PS: anybody in the santa cruz area that wants to play smash, hit me up!

i don’t understand the point of that being on youtube and not something blogspot. i read the first 2 paragraphs and then got tired of the format.

~negative.

wikipedia(at least intelpedia is) is actually a highly used and reliable resource, especially when it can be updated at anytime. And i’m sure that there are people that monitor information to make sure that shit is correct at most times. it’s better than having to wait for editions of book encyclopedias. It’s up to the minute, think of it as sports center to a sports almanac.

Intelligence agencies use wikipedia and intelpedia.

I agree, back when I used to play smash way way back when, everyone was super nice and helpful about teaching you stuff. Anden taught me alot of cool shit.

But yeah speaking of back in the day, H2YL or whatever the fuck they called themselves, had some not so nice members which eventually got beef with the nicer ones.

I would have agreed with him had he replaced “gamer” with “person”.

Playing games well actually does make you a better gamer by definition. Some people get that shit mixed up, though. Come to think of it, very few good gamers are, by generally accepted definitions, good people.

But whatever. His video was boring.

^ DeathScythe: you’re 2 days behind and 5 days ahead.

O Rly? Tell that to those odd 100 thousand dumbasses who actually got wiki, in the news, by using it to assist them with their papers. This paragraph alone discredits you until your grandchildren graduate.

I would even go as far as stating that Wikipedia is the number one resource for acquiring an initial, basic knowledge of any new subject one comes across.

It’s well-written, moderately reliable, (due to the sheer number of editors, some of who I can personally vouch for as being intelligent) and has links to numerous other websites and articles for further information.

Discrediting Wikipedia back in 2003 was one thing, but in 2007, the quality has improved dramatically, and it’s a tremendous resource for everything from electrical engineering labwork to pornstar biographies.

Focus

That video was fucking retarded. Don’t like competitive gaming and tournaments? Then don’t attend. As for having a superiority complex, believe it or not, top tournament players are in fact the best in the world at their particular game.

Regardless of whether you think that’s laudable or pathetic, these are people who have dedicated themselves to a goal, worked hard, and succeeded at it. That’s more than 85% of the human population can say about anything.

Pornstar Biographys!!1 BLOODY BRILLIANTTT!!!

omg this is by far the best wiki suggestion ever…

i was stuck after i read all of the warhammer 40k storylines and fluff, read about ninjas, samurais, dragons and wolves.

i like competitive gaming because it inspires you to better yourself, to not give up, and to seek out the very best competition, and get repeatedly owned in order to improve. it teaches humility and perseverance.

that kind of philosophy can be applied to all areas of your life in order to become the best YOU possible.

What makes this all so funny to me is the fact that people get all upset because some scrub had an opinion. you all fail cept for the fools talkin’ bout dat madden!

I play to win. Always.

I learn how to win by playing. It’s that simple.

Winning is what makes games fun to me.

Losing is what makes them challenging. Just another challenge to try to win.

If there was no challenge I wouldn’t play video games.

So whether it be a tournament, playing with friends and or beating a final boss it’s all fun as long as there is a challenge.

Wait I have to read on youtube?

DAMN DAT NEW MADDEN OFF DA CHAIN

Someone that dislikes competitve gaming while competing for attention on youtube is pretty funny.

At least we admit we’re competing.

There is still the fact that wikipedia can be edited by anyone. Which discredits it entirely. I’m on there right now as I typed in U.S. History and if I wanted to I could either delete the information and say the us was created by aliens or just re-write some of it. Whose to stop me?

I’m not going to of course, but I had to use it as an example. Wikipedia is not a reliable source because anyone can do anything with anything.

Serously, I’m just quoting/re-wording what my english teacher said. Who is, if I remember correctly, only a few months away from getting his doctorates. “Wikiality should not be used as a basis for research.”

This is correct… everything you say is truth man, GET DAT SHIT NOW!!!

The people who work for Wikipedia.

Wikipedia isn’t just some random people typing whatever shit they want, there are people making sure it doesn’t turn to shit. Heck, some pages get locked from modification because of the abuse (like when the name for the Wii came out).

i cant believe i actually posted to his vid but oh well
