Also, literally all of the pokemon charlie88 pointed out are OU, which I’m not sure if it was intentional but regardless helps illustrate why Kommo-o with its new moves and Z-Stone is now tearing up RU and, to a lesser extent, UU. …Or was terrorizing RU since they finally, justifiably banned it from there.
The funny thing is, stat wise, there actually isn’t that much power creep. Most of the BSTs are around the same as they have been since the beginning, Gen 3 at the absolute latest. The difference is…well, there are just simply a lot more stat spreads and a hell of a lot more of the top echelon BSTs to go around with more Pokemon.
With each successive Pokemon game, those upper tier BSTs trend further toward the mean.
This I agree with.
A lot of older Mons really could use more BST, Ability, and moveset updates along with stat redistribution to keep up with the new kids’ more streamlined spreads and movesets.
Sun and Moon started a nice trend in regards to that, and I’d like to see it continue onwards.
Well I only listed OU since I thought that is what the conversation was about and I know little about UU (thus me asking about the speed tiers on the previous page).
I think when I saw K-Z get released I said he was gonna be OU (minimum BL). It got literally everything it needed. Without K-Z I thought it would be UU solely for it getting CC. Basically now it has becoming the Dragon type porygon Z with better typing (defensively anyways) and better all around stats. Truth be told I wish they would buff most Pokemon this way. I wanna see mega Flygon butterfree and fearow along with the gen 2 starters (and of course Dragonite lol). I wanted more Alolan forms.
To be honest I wonder of fusion is gonna be the next big thing. If this is the last console and a few of the legendary Pokemon have had transformations and what not I think we are damn near headed to pokemon Voltron once it gets released on console. You think pokemon is retarded now wait until charizards start fusing Ash Greninjas lol
For the uninitiated: Z-Clanging Scales does not give a boost if it doesn’t hit. Hence switching in a fairy type would just make you waste it.
Personally I think it’ll end up in BL.

Damn. Smogon always bans mons before I ever get to play them. Still have yet to play or touch Genesect. Didn’t get to play this beast. Didn’t get to play Lando. I mean my work school schedule is so hectic that I may just need to play the BS that is Ubera if I wanna play all the mons I wanna play at once. Either that or anything goes. I was looking forward to playing it since it is the first poison Dragon.

Dragalge is definitely underrated. It actually makes decent use out of its good defensive typing and has respectable special movepool.

Yeah, Dragagle is definitely an offensive pokemon…unless we’re somehow defining offensive solely as “possessing high stats in at least one Attack stat and in Speed”. Then it isn’t given how slow it is. But trying to say it isn’t an offensive pokemon is silly otherwise, especially since it gets Adaptability and technically has, if I recall correctly, the strongest Z-Move in the game because of it.
It’s just not good in OU because of the aforementioned slowness, OU being full of its weaknesses in the form of Landoruses and Psychics and Magearnas, and the fact that OU is basically a miniature Ubers where relatively few non-Legendary, non-Mega, sub-600-BST mons can do work in it without being a liability to the team.
There was a brief resurgence of Dragagle in UU about three or four months ago before we got crapped on by OU and they dropped like 6+ broken pokemon on us, so it’s definitely still usable outside of OU.
Pfft. I’m not that old yet. I actually had to look up most of those names since I forgot what the “hottest” Disco hits were beyond the ones by Donna Summer and of course “Disco Inferno”. I just tend to always give my original teams some nicknames that are grouped around a (usually esoteric) theme and I decided that Necrozma got named after Dazzler because hey, it’s a prism.
If my lazy ass remembers to look for it, then I’ll post a match or two of that Banette-Mega team I was using before OU dumped on UU, which was incidentally the last team I made that I actually liked.
Offensive? I guess if you have specs and use aFAPtability then we on to something. In terms of the dragons most all offensive dragons have DD or something boosting to kinda “establish officially” it is offensive. I don’t recall it getting nasty plot or DD. But literally every offensive dragon has something to enhance it except Dragalge.
I just don’t view it as effective enough to warrant it being called an offensive Mon (which is why it has been dropped to below UU and was forgotten about). It always seemed more like an off tank kinda mon. Speed was bad, good special stats. Great typing in terms of resist. Neutral to fairy. I just didn’t think of it as LEMME BLOW MY LOAD on your team with this (like Zygarde or Mega Mence). It was more of hey Let me switch in on something absorb a hit and if I pick the right move hurt you a bit. In my mind offense is quick. Setup limited to boosting one time and going for game. Anything longer than that isn’t offensive enough for me. That is personal opinion though. Also explains why my favorite mons and characters in games tend to be fast glass cannon types.
It’s literal role in ou or uu would be offensive toxic spiker. It’s all it does. It’s an offensive mon with a support option. That typing is not good enough to do defensive things this gen
