Community: The Thread

Community is amazing, I am sad that they have given the wheel to somebody else.

Show ended with season 3. Glad it got syndicated though.

I don’t know about Happy Endings. Some of the banter is good, but most of it is forced. The cast is OK minus Damon Wayans Jr. who is really good but underused.

I hope they don’t ham-fist banter into Community. Happy Endings is how not to do it, and Community’s dialogue is amazing.

ya i noticed how damian takes a back burner on the show.

There are whole episodes devoted to how black and funny he is.

You guys are reverse racists. “It’s just like a bunt but WAY more satisfying!”

Also the entire episode with his Dad with was hilarious.

lol who said anything about it being racist?

No one did, I am saying YOU and Ken are racist. LEARN TO READ BROWN FACE.

JUST PLAYIN BRUV.

One of my favorite things about Community is how it takes the usual nails-on-a-chalkboard idea of “ethnic comedy” (re. crass stereotypes) and throws it in a bucket of paint.

Troy and Abed have a style of their own that has nothing to do with being black and Indian/Middle-Eastern/Polish/whatever, and that brings a tingle of joy to my pasty far-leftist ass.

i think both shows learned to take the normal steriotypes everyone does and throws it to the wall but at the same time…talk about different ones. like how damien’s character talks more black with his black friends. That one doesnt get touched much or at all in this new generation of tv. kinda curious how damien would have done on the new girl had he stayed on past the pilot.

Download the new 8-bit ‘Community’ video game inspired by the show’s finale So, this shouldn’t be too surprising — someone on Reddit actually made the video game, Journey To the Center Of...

Someone tried to recreate Journey to the Center of Hawkthorne

Despite getting boned in every other category, Community got a Grammy nom for writing in the episode “Remedial Chaos Theory”. To understate the matter, it deserves to win.

No.

Prove me wrong.

As evidence, I enter: “Remedial Chaos Theory” (Community episode S03E04)

Here’s a good interview with Dan Harmon conducted between seasons 1 and 2. He gets into his philosophy as a storyteller a little and talks about some of the serendipitous elements.

One particularly interesting thing he said is that the outlandish eps (paintball, chicken fingers, etc.) run on a fuel tank that has to be filled regularly by grounded eps about the characters’ interpersonal issues. It’s an insightful remark and I think it serves the show well.

What will the series do without this guy?

Be carried into cult status by people like you.

Also like me who goad people like you on.

I really enjoy the grounded episodes. The first clip show episode was one of the most fantastic things to ever happen to a comedic sitcom.

Because I haven’t mentioned it enough in the lounge, I would do awful, awful things for one night of really fucked up sex with Alison Brie…

Yea Allison Brie > Gillian Jacobs ALL DAY. FREE.
