I’m glad people are finally starting to get a little less pessimistic in here! New is new, good or bad, and if you know anything about dis mahvel (which I’m sure you do) you know that with a proper mix of skill, faith and practice anything can be made useful. There are lots of options, such as if you get your opponent trained to block on TAC (which is 100% according to “high skill” play so I hear :-p) then you DON’T powertag they will just block and not stuff the TAC. Get a good bnb that has a dS exchange, therefor ending in 3+m, and get it to the point where it will ToD 1.1mil< and your still golden. If not used as a tool to create damage, use it as a tool to guarantee a kick-ass TAC combo through reverse psychology, why not? Vice versa if you grind out a few short TAC combos to bait response, your opponent will expect the flash.bang.TAC and not be blocking on powertag allowing you to successfully finish the character off. All simple mind-games aside, even on block you can put yourself in multiple positions to throw reset, including an useful overhead air-throw that disables a front air-recovery escape when pressured into the corner. At that if they get wise and start to tech out of your throw just whap em’ w an air LHqcfH because w ammy your almost guaranteed frame advantage in said situation. These suggestions above don’t even begin to scratch the surface on strategy based around these lil glitches, most coming from the past week with a only a semi-decent amount of lab time. I am beginning to feel that all the previous hate I received is a result of the fact that a forum “nobody” such as myself figured something out (or at least was the first to bring it to the community ) before all these salty “high skill” posters, because nobody can be THAT stubborn… really. Obviously there is ego involved here seeing as Stark brought up the point of American resets against European resets just to follow up with a statement saying that nobody in this thread knows enough about FG to understand the refrence (What would you say the logical point of writing that was? Seeing as he even said himself nobody is knowledgeable enough to take anything good out of the comparison, one could only assume it is only for outside readers to look at it and think “Oh man, this guy knows so much more than us.”?) I digress, for this isn’t point I’m really trying to get at.
We all need to try to stay positive in here guys, the forums are here to help like-minded players, not to discourage new players and posters from furthering their interests. It’s not a contest, nor could I imagine why anybody would think it was. I am a mid-high ranked/skilled player and could never bring myself to hate on anybody who has mad love for this game, no matter how unskilled or ignorant they are. In the end we are all here because of our love of mahvel so let’s all just be friends and work together to help the community grow so this game lasts as forever as possible!
Just found a way to modify your tech SPCH. Trying to find a way to upload the video from my iphone and post it on here. Hopefully people can modify it.
Hell yeah man! I’m stoked to see what you came up with/ see if I can integrate it into my crew. My og (and best, got to 1st lord) team was Ammy Zero Akuma, and after trying all this stuff with your Z.A.P. I have decided to change my swag to Ammy Shuma Zero. I am starting to see that without relying on Akuma to glass cannon clean-up I can cocentrate more on stability and utilizing any of the three on anchor when the time comes, plus as you can tell I love to rush and Akuma v Zero on mobility is almost a one sided fight haha. Super excited to see what you came up with, keep the dream alive!
Yeah this involves sword mode and before I forget anything the good thing about this TAC reset being lower to the ground is that you can literally go for a 50/50 if they just block it. Their best bet is to guess which direction you go to. Because since ammy recovers faster after being blocked you can go for a low or tag in your character for that overhead hit.
Our of curiosity does it involve something like (swordstance).M.H.dH.qcfL.M.S.j.M.M.dH.ddL.L.(x)S.land? I stumbled upon that one and it’s so dirtyyyyy. If you get caught on that and you want to screw with the opponent a little, at the end of the glive dlive instead of the stance change give it a quick air qcfL for a nice air-throw reset option. On that note another steezy random low-to-the-ground corner disc air-throw reset I found while experiementing around the lab (discstance).M.fH.fH.fH.fH.fH.S.j.M.M.H.H.H.qcfH.land.M.H.jc.M.H(whiffs).air-throw. The opponent techs through the air H animation so afterwards you are basically matched to too wits, plus it leaves you overhead so it negates a front air-recovery. Same usual air-throw reset risks apply but the timing for this one is really tight so it makes a harder to escape situation for your opponent.
So…if I have this right the TAC is not going to combo and hit an opponent that is already blocking. But since you have to be in the corner and their back is pressed against it there is no way to force a L/R mixup using the tac.
I know this and I don’t own the game anymore. I must be a genius or something.
Here’s the video. Sorry for the crappy editing. CPU was put onto No Guard. Like I stated above. If you put the cpu on autoguard and they block the TAC you are put in a favorable position to either go low or go for a ground grab or tag in your character for an instant overhead. This combo TAC also works midscreen I just didn’t have enough time to record because I made this video really quickly. O and the reason this works is because the charged H in sword mode already uses up your ground bounce so that when you do the sword dive move it makes the opponent reset since the ground bounce was already used in the beginning of the combo.

Hey Pertho, how about you refer to my earlier post about not being a dick? There is so much information covered in here it is a shame you were only able to selectively read the parts about throw resets as opposed to everything else in attempts to make me feel stupid, in which you failed both at insulting me and at improving your overall knowledge. Really though, your not a genius because you not only got rid of this amazing game, but you also feel the need to flame comments pointlessly like a 15 year old kid with a computer and nothing better in life to spend his time on.
EDIT: Floating a character to TAC with damage scale reset = Combo reset / Unintended gameplay mechanic = Glitch.
Man for a self-proclaimed genius you sure are bad at interpretations!
Have a good day anyway, hope you cheer up!
Dude this isn’t all that good because 99% of people are going to be holding block. You are doing this in a corner with a character that can’t teleport. This means that you don’t have any l/r mixups to go with it.
First thing you do in SRK is lurk and not post shit. This should’ve gone into the regular amaterasu thread. Only reason I’m posting is because Adelheid has put in a fuckload of work making useful videos. She is also a very good '11 poster. So yeah, Stark > this thread.
-Haha, it was obvious that you were in favor of Stark…anyways. Phill, that looks great, i was right that using glaive stab was the way meant for this to be used and of course, ammy doesn’t have teleports but for example, if they block, i have Dorm’s dark hole to lock them down and mix them with a high-low, which is ammy’s strongest mixup, maybe we can work around that even more, time to go to the lab to experiment, good job…-
Hmm true just tested this out in training mode and rolling does mess up w/ the timing like sometimes it hits and sometimes it doesn’t. What if they are pressing a TAC direction. Wouldn’t they get hit then?
Edit well actually in the corner only a roll out of the corner messes up w/ the timing
Second Edit: Actually the reset still works in the corner whether they front or back roll because after the TAC if you immediately raw tag your character then they get hit w/ the overhead.
Thank you sir. I just recorded a few more videos. The good thing about the downward exchange is also that it causes a long enough hard knockdown state so if you have a character that can combo from a self otg state such as phoenix, viper, akuma (maybe shuma?) then it works even if you miss the launcher when bringing in your character.
Here’s some more stuff.

Just showing some mixups that you can do if someone blocks the TAC reset since your put in a favorable position if it’s blocked. You can go for a grab or tick grab setup or go for a low w/ ammy who has a 3 frame short attack. You can also go for an instant overhead setup by holding down the assist button and having your partner raw tag and hit the opponent.
What Phillpro is posting is actually useful, unlike stopping a combo in mid-air (in the corner of all places) and expecting the opponent to be mashing something. That’s Day -3 stuff; wouldn’t work on anyone with common sense. Dante and Vergil (among others) can swat her for a free combo.
Thanks for all the critiquing on the video I posted. Hopefully people can come up w/ more ideas to improve on this maybe involving the whip stance or if people can come up and discuss mind games that ammy players can use for this. I’ll definitely be using these new techniques at CEO next week. Hopefully some new stuff is developed so I can put it to practice. Now my week long training begins
Phillpro. What you have just suggested is trying to defeat block by doing something that is extremely punishable on block and generally offers very minimal reward.
I really hope I don’t have to explain why you should not go for this.
You know there are two different kind of people In this world, those who strive to prove things right and those who strive to prove wrong. If you ever have kids, I urge you to let your husband raise them (I’m now under the impression that your a girl) because you have a terrible mentality and you will most certainly ruin their lives with your negative attitude.
Phillipro, I used some of your ideas in online matches last night and they were a big success. Be proud of what your accomplishing brudda!
