and now this thread is interesting
Haha no way man, I’m nowhere near good at this game enough to compete at such a high level event. Nor am I financially stable enough to just leave work for a week and pay all the expenses to even go and watch (tho it has been a dream of mine for many years to attend). In my defense there was not one point in this entire thread that I came even close to saying anything that could be interperted as boasting that I was better than you, you just like to start confrontations and such online because you need drama to stay busy because you probably don’t have much going on in your real life… I get it. I apologize again for letting the FGC know about this because it really seems to bother you.
Oh well, try to cheer up champ!
And good luck at EVO, even though your a real asshole on here I would be super stoked to see An Amaterasu player make it far at this years tournament.
I’m sorry.
I have a lot of experience with fighting games, and… Everything my intuition tells me is that the tactics you were trying to give were subpar. At first I was… Honestly trying to help, saying that this was not a strong tactic and generally a waste in the face of finishing combos and more… traditional sorts of resets. But I was bullheaded about it; I haven’t been feeling well and have not been feeling as… Pleasant as normal. What you did though, is sort of say “No I’m pretty sure you’re wrong” despite freely admitting that you are not a strong player.
Now, I understand it feels good to contribute, to help people. I love helping people, which is why I post so much to my youtube channel. Although, I haven’t posted to my youtube channel for awhile. Actually, I have been in the hospital for the past thirteen days, which has rather negatively affected my mood. (I don’t want to get into what happened to me.) And, when I saw what I perceived as disrespect… I was rude. I think that some of the things that I said were justified, but my general demeanor was undignified, to say the least.
So, I want to apologize. I’m normally nicer than this. I try to be nicer than this. If your tech works for you at the level you’re at, well, I don’t think it’d be helpful for me, but it’s probably helpful for your scene if for no other reason than to teach them not to fall for that sort of thing. So, it’s good. It’s good, and I’ve been a jerk.
I’m not out to make enemies. This post might be too little, too late. But I feel bad about my actions and want to make reparations.
It’s all good friend for I’m not quick to make enemies, especially w people I don’t even know via. the Internet. The thing that really bothered me was your negativity right off the bat, it was like you were making fun of a baby for trying to crawl because walking is obviously better yakno? I look up to many of the more well known contribuers out there, hell I have learned a good bit from what you have provided in the past, and given I had an opportunity to showcase a glitch and possible ways to abuse it I was just excited to give something back to the community I have taken so much from in the past.
I hope you won’t continue to be offended while I do intend to keep this thread alive. I have worked on a good bit of new strategy and it would be pointless unless I allowed everybody the chance to “take it or leave it” so to speak.
It’s alllllll good, hakuna matata!
I agree with stark, this isn’t at all useful in a normal match against opponents that actually understand why they get hit by this “reset”.
There is actually one use for this “tech”, it is really gimmicky and not something that is at all limited to ammy. It will only work once in a lifetime and only against people that actually mash the tac counter (which no one should be doing anyway). Also its only use is against phoenix teams or against people that try to tech forward while trying to counter side exchanges. In that regard this might be regarded as a very weak version of magnetos sj.l reset in the courner.
How it works is, you need to have so much hitstunscaling in your combo, that when you side exchange the enemy will still be in hitstun during the exchange flash (this is the part where the game pauses for a very brief moment) after which the 15 frames of tech window start. What you want is that your opponent actually flips out of your combo just before these 15 frames start (so during the flash it looks like the opponent is in hitstun, but just before the techwindow starts he flips out of the combo). What happens is, your opponent can’t break the sideexchange (as it is not part of the combo anymore due to hitstunscaling) but can just block it. Phoenix players that don’t want to eat a sideexchange might get hit by this if they mash on s to break the exchange, thus losing a bar in the process.
The reason why this only works if the opponent is mashing: If the opponent only presses s once to break the exchange, the s will be registered while the opponent is in the “flipping out”-animation and no air s will actually come out, which lets the opponent block freely. In very heated situations or in situations where a phx player is about to lose her 5 bars phx and you don’t have xf, this might work (in this scenario its also pretty much a no brainer to go for this gamble, as you probably will lose the game anyway if you let phx get dark.) But then again, there are much better and superior techs out there against phx and how to steal a bar from her…
-I’m glad that everyone here is cool again, well, perhaps we should try to make 2 sections of videos about tech: combo and reset tech, when we have enough material, we can see all the options ammy has when she’s in battle, that would help a lot to us and new ammy players…-
I remember playing with this stuff early on when trying to find new ways to combo Cherry bomb w/o tagging, but didn’t find most of it useful (the whole, blocking thing)
With that said
I think philpro’s video shows stuff that can be useful even at higher levels of play. Hard tag is still nigh unblockable (stupid mvc2 reflexes) , and the bomb does a good job of hiding the tag. It reminds me of Viscant’s use of the combo counter to hide teleport/haggar mixups. Definitely not something I’d use often, but it could prove useful in those high stakes scramble moments that often arise in tourney marvel, where you have to use every trick to survive.
PS speaking of cherry bomb combos (not resets) , X-Ray made this video that I feel has gone mostly overlooked :

I still don’t think raw tags are applicable here, though, just because they have no reason not to roll out of the corner off of this and if they do you can’t really threaten effectively with a low from where you get put. So they have no particular reason to block low in that situation.
Don’t get me wrong. I am all for raw tags. I have Spencer waiting, and he has an easy time comboing off of them from almost totally arbitrary positioning thanks to a cool 3-frame move named Armor Piercer. But they’re extremely risky, and if you throw out one at the wrong time then you may lose a character 'cause they get whatever starter they want on block. And here, it’s… Like, I’m going over this in training mode, and I’m just. I would never go for it here.
Oh they roll out? (didn’t test it myself, I suck) Well then, I guess things could be optimized more.
At the very least I hope yall still mess with it if it works for you. There’s bound to be some kinda broken stuff hiding in there somewhere!
! Maybe you can discover something, have a top player xcopy it & have ppl call it “The xxxtopplayer combo!” whilst ignoring the true creator haha.
Myself? For now I’ll stick to dropping combos the old fashioned way.

Its a scrub circle jerk in here. Welcome to SRK stark.
PS. OP Your tech is shit and will never hit anyone good.
I dont think that Cherry bomb “reset” is that bad. If the other player do a neutral recovery then Ammy will be in advantage of block, and can go for the j.L, j.M overhead, or call assists for further pressure. BUT i would rather use the j.H, delay, j.S cherry bomb reset (in the corner) at superjump height expecting to catch the character mashing j.S for TACs counters. It works at high levels (Magneto players do it all the time).
Niceeee, i haven’t been on here in a while and people are still hating, oh well you know what they say " It’s Mahvel Baby" and for the record I catch 2nd-high (anything but judge obv)s with this a lot. It only needs to work once because it allows me to ToD my first hit confirm and then switch Ammy w my bridge who is currently Armorer to begin the demon swoop SnapBack loop. Rince, repeat, I rarely have any issues. Also if you use Amaterasu as second in your TAC chain skywards if you distance yourself right on block the majority of the cast is unrecoveribly pushed in the corner for an air-throw. Who cares if I’m a scrub, because there are other scrubs too and this isn’t in the high skill players only VIP forum it’s in the Amaterasu forum. Knowledge is power your trollllly troll
Don’t worry folks, once the new JoJos comes out you’ll never see me in this forum again
I find it hard to believe, though I already had a feeling about it, that this is the easiest infinite to pull.
