Anybody want to buy my 360 stuff? My box just red ringed and I’m not willing to drop for another 360. I’m gonna buy a ps3 in the coming weeks.

-2 broken 360 consoles (1 red ring, 1 in need of a replacement optical disc drive)
-1 replacement 360 optical drive
I would just replace the optical drive myself, but the operation is actually kind of complex. You have to pull a serial number off the original disc drive’s firmware and flash it onto the new drive.
Additionally, I would post in the trade section, but I don’t want to deal with shipping. I’m going to offload what I can’t sell in town to whatever used game store I wind up at.
Dibs on the headset, and possibly the wired controller.

You REEAAAALY should see if you can get the RROD box fixed. The warranty now is like 3 years for red ring stuff. A friend and I can probably combine the 2 non working boxes in to one working one also if you really can’t get it fixed.
PM me if you are interested in fixing it that way or if you really don’t want a 360 anymore maybe you can sell me both the non working ones.

The memory unit is on hold for now. Its got my profile on it which I’m going to give to someone else. If you still want it after all the transfer shit is done I’ll send you a PM when its free.
I’m too fed up with microsoft to want to get the boxes fixed. Last time I tried to send in a broken box they gave me all kinds of shit. That was when they still sent out boxes for shipping. I never got the box. I’m not willing to put up with that again. PM about to be sent.

I don’t belong here, but can’t help but post after seeing the 360 malfunction talk, since my friend just hooked me up with a Elite from Japan (the whole thing came out to be almost $600 including some Japanese MS points and shipping). I’m assuming it’s loaded with the Falcon chipset; but do any of you know if those have lower failure rates compared to the older models?
The 54% failure rate revealed two weeks ago just scares me.

I’ve actually wanted a Next-Gen console for awhile now, if I can figure out how to replace the Optical Disc drive, I might consider taking one of the 360’s off of you, depending on how much you’re charging.

I got my 360 replaced from a red ring two years ago, and it hasn’t had any problems since.
According to the stats collected in Game Informer there’s still something like a 30% chance of failure after the initial fix.
The new chip set is supposed to be much better. However, I’ve never actually heard about it being any better from anyone except microsoft and people quoting microsoft press releases.
You have a 120gb HD …you just download all your games to HD and you are fine. I have been through 7 xbox 360’s. I decided to just get the 120gb hd and I havent had a problem since…I have actually had this 360 now for almost a year.
Sony has problems as well…plus PSN is shit compared to XBL…Enjoy Ed.
