Good games tonight. I seem to have a knack for picking the characters with broken priority that annoy everyone (Christie, SF4 Balrog, C-Kohaku), so thanks for putting up with it. The roads are getting slick, so be careful driving tomorrow.
Next time there’s a bunch of us online, we should play an Instagib server. It’s a deathmatch server where you only use the Railgun and Gauntlet and both do one-hit kills. It should be easy for everyone to pick up. What kind of FPS background do you all have, anyway? Mine’s mainly [media=youtube]OWds7wKLLPs[/media], another free Quake III engine game. I played some Goldeneye and Counter-Strike 1.6 too.

Also, Brian and I are practically the only ones who play HDR anyway. If you wanna see that match you can see it anytime you want.
As for $1 tourneys, I think we should do those every week, either in something random and stupid, or occasionally something like IV. That sounds like a good idea.
Understanding what frame data is isn’t the problem. Learning how to use the data is the hard part.
Even then, other people have done the work for you. You’ve got plenty of sections here on SRK detailing priorities, situations, combos, etc.
You don’t need to get into analyzing it on a frame data level right now, just learn your strats and combos first and worry about that later.

My background for fps is all console. Halo 2 and 3 mostly. This means I have absolutely no skill with mouse/keyboard. I would be up for whatever game types you guys want to play, but I’m not going to practice too much.

Really? I can’t think of the last time I played more than 3 matches of 4 in a given week. When I did I had trouble with my sb’s cause the game is sooo slow… I mean, I will play it. I will even MM in it, but I have no confidence in it.
