Columbia, SC: We Won't Leave Until We Make A Sale

… Huh? lol

Talking about elitist… coming from the man that is more so than anyone else I have ever met in my life. Do I like this game? Yes and it is obvious that I want more people to play it. Is you playing the character you want for whatever reason that may be something I will have to deal with? Something that I have ALREADY been dealing with? Yes. What you do with this game is none of my business in the end and could give two shits about. If your effot with the game is a real one then that’s all that will make me happy. It’s the people that ARE expecting the same thing that I am upset with. If you THINK that I misunderstood that with you, then tough shit. However, what you say and what I saw are two differen things.

Know nothing about your carl history so I will not even touch it. Mu-12? So the character is the same ( to a certain extent ) as CS1. What people aren’t happy with is that some people are going to have to put less work that others due to that fact. It was the same thing ( apparently ) for CT->CS bang. Again, my CT knowledge is non-existent but that is word on the street.

As for positive? LOL Name one thing about anything that has gone on lately and give me a reason as to why I should be positive? When it comes to CS2 I have remained positive. So much that I have spent ( or wasted depending on how you look at it ) two entire days so far on it and Valkenhayn. I have supported everyone’s thoughts on it, even though I don’t agree with some of them. Justin feels the way he does and regardless of how I FEEL about it, I cannot change his way of thinking. Anonymously? Would you rather me do it directly? Quite frankly, an outright argument - like this one - isn’t something that is needed.

Also… positive. Like having constantly invites to my house thrown out there for this game on a daily basis and only having the one other person that cares about the game show up? Even me going out to OTHER places just to play this game… JUST to play with the same person? One can only be positive for so long until they crack, Byron.

Wow I went to go get some food, take a nap, walk the dog, and then all this gets posted o.O. But since we are on the subject. Thomas your almost right about why I may not play Litchi. I didn’t care about her tourney viability. I played her from the start(Should have stopped CT when she was ASS.) I just liked her freedom factor unlike most of the characters who have this set thing they must do and do it over and over. We all know thats the main reason I don’t like the game as much. (BB in General not CS2.) Sadly she now has joined most of the cast in that aspect. This doesn’t mean shes bad though. Since most tier lists still have her as A-Tier. I don’t really care about that and LK doesn’t either. So odds are I’ll probably play Carl or maybe Rachel. (I hope Carl is more Eddie-like. I LIKED Eddie .)

Thomas, trust me when i say that ive been through this situation your going thru in BB where your “scene” is pretty much only 1 other person playing it. I went thru that mess with GG for just over 2 years, only having Mike as the other person taking the game seriously (keyon, zach, etc. entered the picture much later). I can honestly say that if Mu-12 was unlocked on the xbox i first played on yesterday right from the get-go, i wouldnt have said as much as i did about the game right off the bat b/c the character that i put in the most work in BB actually gets to keep most of her stuff. i couldve adjusted to the other stuff like IB nerfing and shit over time. Bang and Carl’s changes were a bit drastic, along with all the system changes, it was like playing a different game all together, just with BB characters in it…and with me already juggling 3 other games (1 of which is brand new still), i dont have the time to try and learn another new game (which isnt “new”) all over again. In my position, im better off building up from the foundation built in CS1, which Mu-12 provides, and it gives me incentive to better learn the system off of her and actually give the game a chance. Your posts just simply pressed the wrong button b/c you stated this particular line:

really? wtf kind of comment is this? Tackled along with:

So your attacking basically…Simplekiss (?), Xavier, myself, and perhaps Mike (?)…at the least…and other people could certainly fall into this list as well but at least the 1st 3 were actually speaking about the game (i believe mike was too but i dunno what he said, hence the ?). Fact: I wouldnt have even made my long post if i didnt see these 2 statements.

…about this “elitist” talk…alot of you all are gonna believe that what im about to say is complete and utter bullshit…and your entitled to that, but i act elitist in this scene b/c i want to be a target (BB excluded…ive never seen myself as a great player in that game, i just transfer the gaming knowledge over). I would actually LOVE for someone to shut me up, but no one has stepped up and successfully done that (or whoever has done that, has never done it consistently), so i keep on going on about it in the hopes that eventually someone will do just that. Im still patiently wait and will continue to act elitist for that simple fact…but if you actually knew me, you’d know that im far from elitist (perhaps you are too, but im not sure if folks see that, myself included). If you ask me for help, ill probably go above and beyond to do what i can and ill be straight honest with your gaming if you want me to be…but only Keyon (for SF/marvel related stuff) and Simplekiss has actually approached me asking for my advice and actually did something with it.

On that note, im simply not gonna say anything else on either topic. you can respond (as your entitled to) but im not gonna address it so feel free to have the “last say”. Ive said my peace so now i can go do something.

@Ben: Got your PM. I suppose all i can say is sorry. im not gonna take back what i said, but im sorry nonetheless

@David: is there some way that PS3 users can actually get CS2? i thought psn was still going to be down and although ive heard that u can still get updates…i thought something was preventing ps3 users from getting it (otherwise, why wouldnt we have it already?)

@Keyon: he really did feel like Eddie to me. Puppet placement has always been important for Carl but now its more important than ever and he feels like eddie in that regard. He’s still Carl otherwise (even with that dash…which after playing MvC3 doom as much as i do, i really cant adjust to now)

Thomas I think summed it up best when he said:

While that’s a bit out of context, it does highlight the true conflict of individuals preferring to only see their side of the spectrum.

While Ben and Thomas might enjoy the game and view it as an overall improvement, there are people who will disagree (ie: Justin). Thomas, you see Ragna as an easy character that is now harder to play. What about Ragna players? Why is here harder to play now? Is that what their complaint is? The difficult thing to do here is to not try and sweep their complaints under a broad rug, but to look at each individual issue and try to see the argument on both ends.

That’s what I myself have done in regards to the BB series. It’s no secret that I don’t like it because I don’t have as much of a positive experience when I play the game as those that do enjoy it might. I also am under the impression that it’s not a good game either, and not due to my personal feelings, but due to reactions, responses, and reading I have done regarding it. I truly tried to give the game a fair shake, and even forced it on myself for a few weeks.

However, from simply touching the game I could “feel” as if something was off. I’m not so conceited to try and place my not liking the game on the game itself, that is completely on me. My feelings of the game, however, being below average competitive fighter as a whole, is much more so on the game.

I felt the need to clarify this because I didn’t say anything critical about the game. I made a comment where it was funny that the reaction Thomas and Ben gave Justin when he voiced his displeasure about the game was very much that in tone of, “QUIT WHINING!” and not, “What are you disliking about the game? Oh… Why do you feel that way? I have a bit of a different perspective, here’s how I see what they did and why.” Justin has been a cornerstone in the state’s gaming community for quite some time, and I found it to be pretty God damned disrespectful on their part. Yet, I get a gem like this:

I would go into finer detail on how the damage being done off of a lot of things in that game made the risk/reward ratio a bit ridiculous, that corners + meter was not needed to do 40+%, and the game’s engine was shoddy at best. Unfortunately, it looks like the only thing that y’all might come away with from that is, “I can’t get into BB bcuz shit does 2 much dmg but mk is kool”

Hell, if anything I should be upset because I’ve always said that BB will be good by it’s 3rd or 4th version. They might make a liar out of me!

@Byron: Thats great I’ll have to mess with him when I get a chance. Also loving the thread guys keep it up.

That’s the POINT Byron. I say things about people on a cosntant basis and noone says a word about it. Noone comes to me on here, on skype or anyway and just says " Thomas, this is the way it is and that’s what it is. " At least, when I said things that concerned YOU, you stepped up to the plate and stated your claim. That is what I wanted to see and THAT is the reason I am constantly poking and prodding at people. I base such things on care level of a certain game. Be it Blaz or Marvel ( Which I have my own personal reasons as to why I downplay it. None of it completely factual. ) Those that don’t care don’t approach me with their problems, regardless of whether or not it is with me. I am not stupid–shit is being said about me on a constant basis. I can feel it in my bones. Those people just need to come out and say what needs to be said. You and I never have had any real problems, (serious) debates, or anything of the like. However we’ve been completely honest with each other since day one. I’d appreciate if you kept it like that.

All Justin’s post did was remind me of the same conversation I had with Xavier in his car about Ragna and CS2 about how people cannot go into the game expecting the same thing. All Justin did was be more talkative about it and stressed his opinion. Nothing wrong with it. Did I become adamant about it and get TOO personal with it? Yes and I’ll man up and apologize for it. Just like you said to Ben, though, I won’t take it back. Won’t take back the issue with Marvel 3 either. I just have some rage enducing issues with that game that I personally need to sort out. I wouldn’t take it TOO seriously. Since the only game I -currently- play is Blazblue so that actually puts me in a worse spot than anyone else in the community.

I didn’t want to do this because of the ’ last say. ’ I felt like I had to say something. Now that it is said, we can move on.

So… casuals? D: I can’t cash my check til friday and I want to play platinum! lol

EDIT: @Josh: Harder to play? I don’t think i said that and if I did, that ISN’T what I meant. I’m just saying that he isn’t as EASY as he was in CS1 and now has to do more to get the kind of damage most Ragna players want. I am no Ragna player, but I did mess with him in CS when I wanted to play him and even explored with him last night. He is not the same character in any regard. From a ragna player’s perspective it may seem odd because what’s there and what they’re used to from ( two? ) previous versions is a far cry from the current. In all honesty, his post did induce the " STOP WHINING " effect in me because that is what I saw. Though I have known Justin far too long to know that isn’t what he’s really doing. So in the end, it was a debate… and I wasn’t trying to cover for anyone other than myself. Ben has his opinions about that, you and other things and I have my own.

Although i did further explain and give an example as to how the game changed atleast for my character. When it comes to character specifics, obviously you need more time to explore your character. Comments before that was more of a joke from me anyways. I remembered from our discussions when we were at charleston one of the reasons why you said you didn’t like blaz, was b/c too much damage this, and that. and it was just quite funny to me how you were excited of doing 70% with kung lao the first day. Thats all. Sarcasm this.
But no, i’m not saying justin is wrong, i’m saying that there is just more to it than that. But you can’t force someone to like something.
EDIT: no cs2 for psn still. Called it.

Ummmm Ben Japan got it we just didn’t get it. The problem is we don’t know when america is gonna get it.

Yea we still don’t have it.

I’d like to say I’m about to get really upset. So keep that in mind for the rest of this post. Why? Arrogant as shit comment. Way to presume why motherfuckers don’t like CS2, which is an oversimplification of the issue at hand. But really, this is not even about CS2 anymore…

Thanks Bro. I appreciate the shoutouts. No seriously, fuck you. Arrogant thing to say. Even if you don’t mean me, it sure as fuck feels like it. I don’t like how you presume to know why people don’t like CS2 and that’s what irks me. I could give you a bulleted list of what I dont like about it, but that isn’t the point of these posts.

You mean how Valkenhayn’s Feet got exposed in CS2? You might as well just call the person(s) out Thomas to be saying bolsterous shit like this. Again with these fucking comments.

The game didn’t become less braindead. it became more braindead. Believe it or not, big damage =! Brain dead gameplay. there is no thinking in CS2 at all. it’s “Get them to corner, do oki.” CS1 was already kind of like that, CS2 is exponentially worse. Hakumen’s a better character in CS2, than CT, but at least he was more interesting in CT. But this isn’t the point of quoting this tidbit. I’m quoting this because I could do the same shit you’re doing Thomas, and sound like a fucking douche. Here let’s try it:

“Bro, you were only good in CS1 because you were riding the power of your characters. Now you thinking about Dropping Valkenhayn! LAWL! OBVIOUSLY YOU DROPPED HIM BECAUSE HES NOT GOOD ANYMORE LULULUL IM ARROGANT AND PRESUMPTIOUS.”

You mean how I’m constantly reminded half-jokingly by you and half the community that nobody respects me for playing that shit ass “MVC3” shit terrible game? I’m fine with people hating on MVC3 for all their various reasons. Whatever, there’s a lot of bullshit to deal with MVC3 so I’m cool with it.

and I also loved your comment to me when I mentioned a while back I was taking MK9 as my main game and you said something along the lines of “Yeah, I’d respect you more for it than playing that ass Game Marvel” or something like that. Thanks bro, Now I know that the summation of my existence as your friend and a person depends completely on what games I like to play. Fuck that shit. Fuck you.

I love the columbia, sc thread!!!

How much? I don’t believe you… :v

I’m reading the thread like this.

Whoa whoa whoa. I didn’t say ANYTHING along the lines of you playing Marvel vs Mortak Kombat. Infact, I haven’t even spoke to you about GAMING in general since that instance on League of Legends. And THAT was when we spoke about why you had quit Hakumen. It was case closed then. I don’t know who you spoke with about that SINCE then, but you might just have me mixed up with something else.

Lol Valkenhayn’s ’ feet ’ are still good in CS2. Agreed, they’re not nearly the extent of what they are in CS1 but that isn’t my issue with him. I -still- go back to him in CS2, in the midst of trying other characters. But hey, since I was entitled to my opinion then you are entitled to yours. Fair enough.

You play Marvel. You play Mk. You play Street Fighter. All three are games that either have played and dropped, haven’t gotten into yet or just flat out don’t like. Even through that, you and I still conversed about everything up until a CERTAIN point. When I confronteded you on skype about how you felt about me and if you had beef with me you all but avoided it outright. I left that alone, too. We haven’t spoken to one another since then - don’t know why. Then this! I don’t care particularly about what game you play, your current skill level your anything of the sort. Yet to say that I make friends only in association to what games they play is completely false.

You need to stop being sensetive over the smallest detail and understand that It’s not THAT serious. A cs2 debate or me dictating how I believe the game is should NOT have turned into this. All parties involved dropped it and yet now you chose THIS time to come out of your shell. Am I arrogant? Yes. Have I heard all of the " You’re playing off of the power of your character. " bit before? Of course! But apparently, I only want to drop Valk because you’re under this assumption that he has gotten any weaker than his CS1 counterpart. The nerfs were in the right place, but to say that he isn’t as good is… false.

Anywho, continue to be all sodium induced all you want. You have a personal problem with me, then deal with it -with me- like I had asked you weeks ago. I obviously have much more I want to say, much more that I SHOULD say… but nah. You want to talk to me, then you talk to me. Just like I’ll talk with Byron, Justin or anyone else that wants to talk to me about issues they may have with me.

Woosh. Everything I said right over your head

Steals some while your not looking

The perhaps I misunderstood it all. :3 Noone said I was smart.

Damn it, I wanted see how you played her and jack your play style.

I was pretty hyped about SC5 until I heard about the 17 years into the future timetable. Cassy will most likely lose that annoying young girl personality that loved so much. And if she keeps that same personality as a middle aged woman it won’t be cute, just really sad.

Maybe Arc work should take thier time and stop whoring out games every year

What in the Blue Fuck are you talking about…
