I can understand why people think Marvel 3 is shit. there’s a long list of bullshit that I won’t argue about. However, as Byron has said and how agree with him is:
Once you learn to deal with/look past a lot of the bullshit that happens, there’s also a lot Marvel 3 has to offer.
The metagame of mvc3 is still very young; which means you can get really creative with shit. Keyon will tell you
“Why be creative when x/y/z is right there.”
I disagree, and I feel creativity can be quite rewarding, at least for now.
I also enjoy the fact that you have to plan out the entire match from start to finish, especially with X-Factor being so important. You have to make a whole lot of crucial decisions very quickly.
The relatively low vitality of everyone in this game. characters bleed hard in this game, and while I understand some people’s dislike of this, I think it makes those smart decisions all the more important. It almost reminds me of ST in that regard.
Throws are really fucking good in this game, especially if you can otg. IN particular, air throws are QUITE strong, are very fast, and usually lead to big damage for characters. Yes bullshit happens. Yeah, level 3 xfactor, Wesker/phoenix are retarded anchor characters. But imo, if you look past some of that shit, marvel 3 has a lot more to it. -shrug.-
I’m not trying to convince people, just gonna post my defense of the game with some reasoning behind it rather than just post one liners “This game is ass.” :3
What he was trying to say is one-button moves is only on lite mode controls. You can filter those players out online, so it doesn’t matter if you can do that stuff really.
I’m LOVIN my 3DS and SSF43D, and have found a config on pro controls that is working well for me. Unfortunately things like RSF are gonna be impossible either way, but I’ve been using Abel and getting the 1-frame links off just fine. It did take a ton of adjustment though, and my hands cramp up after a while. The dpad works great for me with all types of chars, and while the analog stick is great, and will be awesome for other genres, it’s def not for 2d fighters.
The main thing I can’t wait for is the inevitably amazing Nintendo games that will come out. Starfox 3D = geekgasm.
Is anything going on tomorrow? I seriously will come, someone just give me a time and a place, I’ll make it happen, I feel really lonely and want to be a part of something.
@Simplekiss: I would rather take the easy way out in that game. I’m sorry if thats too blunt. I don’t have a real interest in the game at high lvl so why not. I find it more fun casually. If you want to play it high lvl I don’t think you need to come in and defend it. There is nothing wrong with that. @Awardtour: If Akuma had something stupid like me hitting C like 10 times in one combo into my lvl 3 I would.
I’ve mentioned countless times why I don’t like Marvel 3 from the damn beginning, i don’t feel like regurgitating that shit again. But Almost everything you mentioned whilst defending the game can be said for other fighting games. Too much bad/bullshit in the bush for me to look past.
What’s good people. Just popping in to get an idea of the expected turnout for BBCS on 4/9. I saw someone mentioned earlier that they were aware of how everyone in the Charlotte scene has pretty much dropped CS, though I have heard it expressed that CSII may revive some interest. With that said, the SC tournaments are pretty much my only chance to play anyone in BBCS in person. I’m not a fan of Marvel (I won’t talk shit about the game, just not my kind of game), nor SSF4 (same reasoning), so BBCS is the sole game I plan to enter.
Darklight and a few others don’t have cars, so I’m usually a go-to option for tournaments out of the area. And on the real, I’d be down to roll through with them and even just get in some good casual matches of BB while everyone else does there thing with Marvel, since I know that’s the main draw. But school loans and bills making money a lil tighter than before, I can’t really justify the expense in gas of riding out and not getting any matches in you know. So just let me know what’s good. No saltiness on my part (I’m not like “oh no BBCS, fuck yall”), I’m always content with playing CS online, it’s more of a money thing (throwing dollars in the tank, and missing out on “fund raising” while I’m out the Charlotte area). Good luck to everyone in Marvel, and I hope all yall cats are well.
@Duke: Lol Brawl. The only game worse than MvC3. EDIT: This is an opinion, of course. I’m sure that most of them would play it for fun. Too much of a Melee *** to care about brawl.
@Tarantula Man: Coming to the thread just to troll is terrible. You lose points. On the other hand, I finally got dat white version. But Golden Sun has taken up too much time.
@Dwaine: David’s first then Movie? I am actually interested in participating.
@Cassius: Even if there isn’t any tournament tomorrow for Blazblue, I know two people for a fact that will not mind handing you as many casual matches as you want. I am one of those people - I’ve never played against you, infact. Gotta get that out of the way.
Golden sun on the other hand, I’m not too sure about. It felt very “meh” to me when I played. How are you liking it so far? If you’re a “completionist”, be sure not to miss any Djinn because there are some areas you can’t come back to even after completing the game.
@Yung Humma: MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMmmmmmmmmmmm @ Sandhills if I get off of work at the right time. I’ll let y’all know @Thomas: I won’t be a David’s unless I get off work early.
