@Simplekiss: Allow me to teach you the hidden secret to tatsumaki. Heres how you beat it…are you ready??? “Jump…C” No im not joking. Tatsumaki is easily beatable by j.C. More to the point, when akuma uses tatsumaki, the top part of his hit box is very much vulnerable. Any characters with an 8-way air dash have an easy time getting past scrub tactics. I personally never throw out raw tatsu’s unless its short tatsu to bait out a reaction from someone. The only time i’ll do a full screen raw tatsu is if i think the person doesnt know the ancient secret to this scrub move.

Also using advance gaurd against the last hit of tatsu leaves akuma free for chaotic flame/maximum spider. If your not sure about which version of tatsu the scrub is using on you as you block…just tap advance guard in sync with the move and then punish that shit. Tatsu doesn’t need to be respected, it just needs to be properly punished…

According to Dwaine, I get a hard on for big damage. He watched the video and saw her 7k combo. To him, that’s the real reason why I want to make the switch. Which is only moderately true. The truth is that I like pressure. Although Platinum is a solid B tier for reasons that are obvious, she has amazing pressure. Of course, this is opinion due to the videos that I have seen with her against a majority of the cast ( Save Hakumen, Valkenhayn and Mu-12. )

Match ups in her ( obvious ) favor by opinion are…
Tager - Because her move, which is an overhead, where she slaps her staff from above is extremely fast. In a video, I saw her beat damn near his entire moveset with that move alone. A Sledge start ups, included. This plays in that " doesn’t have to be there " factor. 7-3 Platinum

Valkenhayn - Personally, I believe she’ll beat the wolf man. More range mid screen with faster normals would say so. Also, she has the ability, although random, to zone him out. Valkenhayn doesn’t deal with pressure well in CS 1 and due to the nerf to instant blocking, I can only imagine that becoming an even bigger problem with him. 6-4 Platinum at best. 5.5-4.5 Platinum at worst.

Tsubaki - Let’s face it. This character hasn’t really changed at all. Faster normals and more damage doesn’t change the blantant problems she had in the first game. 5b is arguably her best poke still, but Platinum has a better mid-screen advantage than most characters in the game. ( From first glance. ) Unless they made her DP better, I don’t see Tsubaki dealing with her well. 6-4 Platinum.

If can elaborate more on her match ups I believe will be even or she’ll lose to… if anyone has interest, of course. Again, this is all opinion and nothing I say is factual. That and damn it, a fighting game thread needs to talk about… well… fighting games.

2a, 2c, e (or 6c), j.b (2), j.6c, addf, j.b (2), (land), 2c, e (or 6c), j.b (2), j.6c, addf, j.b (2), (land), 2c, e (or 6c), j.b (2), j.6c, adf, j.b (2), air photon array

  • adf = air dash forward, addf = air dash down forward , (2) = let both hits of a single j.b hit
  • for the j.b (2) after the addf, you want to hit the attack right after the addf animation “ends” but the better way of judging the height is to hit j.b right before the opponent hits the ground so they are as low to the ground as possible
  • there is a small variation of the loop where on the ground, instead of just doing sweep/2c, e…you add a 2b 1st. The ender should be the same even with the added 2b’s

Corner variation:
2a, 2c, e, j.b (2), j.6c, addf j.b (2), (land), 2c, e, j.b (2), j.b (2), j.6c, adf, j.b (2), j.e, 5c, e, j.b (2), j.b (2), j.6c, adf, j.b (2), j.e, 5c, electric cage
with the lvl 3 at the end, it does approx 1,052,000 dmg. Also, if you get to the corner while doing the midscreen variation, you can adjust the ender to compliment the corner variation and still have it work, you just have to take into consideration where your combo count is.

This amongst other things is why I like her. I was just stating one of many. I fully aware that in CS2 there are other characters with a lot more pressure. However, they don’t do the OTHER things I like with her along with said pressure. Hope that makes sense.

Columbia’s Tournament is soon. Not excited for it, but I have some personal reasons to enter it - A point to prove. Unless CS2 comes out sometime before CEO 2011, it will be my last local BB:CS tournament. Won’t enter any more of them unless they’re out of state tournaments…

This doesn’t mean that the practices will stop or anything of that nature. Will still play to remain at the top of my game. Afterall, I have a certain Murderface to prepare for in June. I just hope that I get him SOMEWHERE in the tournament. :frowning: I really don’t feel like throwing money in his direction.

But I might have to just to show how serious I am.

On another note: Valkenhayn is starting to sound more interesting than Platinum again. Still need to get my hands on her.

Most of us here has played SSf4 or played it in the past. The community has splintered off into Blaz players and Marvel players as of late, but I’m sure you won’t have any issues finding someone to play with you in Super.
