Wow… someone had to come out and say it. I had my reasons for not watching anymore, and I begin to see why. Big ups to CM Punk for bringing that stuff out
honestly, if you followed wrestling behind the scenes, nothing CM Punk said was news. Most people who gained the biggest shock value from the ordeal was 1) the kids and 2) those who only watch the shows and nothing else wrestling related…and even then…you can pretty much tell there’s preferential treatment just based on who wins and the aftermath…this has always been the case…there’s just a smaller group of people in the “circle” now than was before so its more evident
I dont blame him for blowing up the way he did though. the guy has worked his ass off for years and got the shit end of the stick several times, and it was known for a while that Mr. McMahon was never keen on CM Punk (i believe it was an image issue…tattoos + piercings =/= WWE champion material) even though Punk was considered the best heel in the business the past couple of years. At the end of the day, it may look like CM Punk is simply rubbing his own ego and going out with a bang but just about everything he did say was true (the whole bit about being the best…although i personally agree… is subjective but…i wont go into that)…and at the end of the day, WWE may end up getting a positive rating’s boost from the whole thing.

well Punk does deserve the attention he’s getting right now. At the end of the day though, im led to believe its a work as well (a pretty damn good one too)…this is one of those situations where you could argue both sides and not necessarily be wrong. Time will tell.
WWE has never allowed superstars to mention other wrestling promotions… Juss sayin.

Well…if you want to count it…Joey Styles name dropped ECW in his worked shoot promo that mentioned the revival of the promotion among other stuff. Id provide a better example if i could but thats the only one that comes up at the moment thats easy to remember.
Realistically though, what other promotion is a threat to the WWE? RoH and New Japan Pro wrestling isnt gonna come and overturn the WWE because both of their names got mentioned on live TV (although if that did happen…well the ratings would skyrocket)…there wont be any backlash like what happened with the whole WCW vs WWF ordeal when Eric Bishoff thought it’d be smart to have his commentators tell the results of Mankind winning the WWF championship on RAW moments before it actually occurred or anything similar.
Abkallday is right though…Punk has the IWC buzzing over this.

I miss ECW 
That was without a doubt a pre-approved shoot. It was extremely impressive, but I’ve seen a loooot of shoots and that was without a doubt worked. There is absolutely no way that CM Punk won’t play a major role in a large angle sometime in the future, near or far.
TNA imo is the Jerry Springer of pro wrestling.
Put Paul Heyman in charge of something, total control, and I’ll watch again

My brother will be in town this weekend, so I’ll probably watch it with him on Sunday. Hopefully, the movie doesn’t suck (looks for Optimus >__>)

I might also have casuals today at my house after 6pm. Elliot’s got the day off and will probably want to practice MvC3 and AE. If anyone wants to come by, please don’t bring a negative attitude or not take practice seriously
