Columbia,SC:We Mashing Jab

@ Eskay: I looked past some of the corny crap that goes on in the anime and I actually enjoy it now. Also, I’m watching the first season first.

After thinking about it for a while, I’ve decided to continue playing both BB:CS and SSFIV seriously like I have been. I have the time to practice both games but it’s just going to be how I utilize my time that’s gonna make the difference. I already practice SSFIV for about 1 1/2 hrs a day and play online for about 3hrs, so I can manage practice time for both games. I also don’t give a fuck if I do play against the same people in BBCS anymore. If I wanna play against a wide variety of players, then I’ve got SSFIV for that.

There were also a couple of things I was disappointed in, when I entered that tourney last Saturday; One being that I didn’t stick with Juri the whole time to get more match-up experience and tried to counter-pick with a character that I can’t stand playing as (Rose). Not only did it not help me in the Juri vs Guile match-up, but I felt like I gave up before my match even started. Also, I need to work on playing more patient because it has cost me so many wins during tourneys.

@ Cola: Well it seem like a good bit of us are okay with the venue fee change, so I’ll start promoting the next tourney in the next few days. Also, I’ve finally made an sctourney stream page for us now  (Minus a ton of Cammy, lol)

could someone please tell guru when the next tourney is

@ Panda_Guru: You’re still alive I see, lol! I thought you disappeared on me, but the next tournament will be on December 18th. I was thinking about sending you and the Sumter crew a text, but I thought you were already lurking on SRK about it.

@jaguar: yea i actually planned on makin a surprise visit on the Fall Brawl but it got cancelled but you can expect to see me on this one and I’ll be outta school in another week so hit me up whenever your hosting casuals and I’ll try to make it through

@Jag: I see, and what of the art style? Is it still bothering you? You’ve seem to have done a complete 180 on venture bro’s and fmp. Granted the 2nd season is nothing like the 1st or 3rd. Maybe it was the environment in which it was being shown in. Where and who you watch something with always has an effect on how most ppl view things initially.

About blazeblue, I probably should have made this clearer when we were discussing it but it seems you like you’ve already figured it out. Focusing on Super as your tourny game and treating blaze like “comfort” food is kinda what i was getting at but didnt really get across very well. Over the last few weeks i’ve seen you, simple kiss, and usagi jump back and forth between super and blaze and while your having fun learning super (or swearing obscenities and pronouncing your hate coughJohncough) you guys always seem to quietly admit to yourself that you enjoy blaze. If separating them like that is the only way for you to currently enjoy them then i say go for it. Play super and learn your Juri match-ups, and whenever you get sick of playing super you can join me for blaze. Cuz after Wednesday theres always gonna be a blaze setup. (unless we’re doing bi-weeklys cuz cola only plays one game.)

I’ll be the first to admit that i entertained the thought of actually caving in and re-learning ibuki now that i understand what kinda game super is and what it takes to be successful in that game. I even mentioned it to Pat. But i think im happy with just trolling you guys with adon and secretly making him more competent little by little. Over the last few days i’ve realized that Blaze is defiantly the game for me. I’ve been working on IB’ing and i intend to abuse the shit out of it now that its starting to click.

@ Eskay: I really don’t mind the art-style anymore. The random BS is just entertaining for now, lol. Also, I think it was probably the fact that everyone was enjoying Venture bros that made me like it too.

With BBCS, once I realized most of the people I would practice against just quit the game without playing it for more than a few months or didn’t really practice at all, it was a big disappointment. In the end, it was mainly you, me and Thomas playing BBCS serious and practicing all the time. Also, I was frustrated at the fact that I couldn’t pin-point one main character to play, but now I definitely know it’s Tsubaki (whether she’s top or Tsubaki tier, I don’t care)

Now that I see playing both SSFIV and BBCS seriously can be done, I’ve taken a new outlook on both games. I’ll play SSFIV for more competition and BBCS because it’s my favorite fighting game.

I was looking at the 55 most wanted characters list and there were a few that I’d like to see:

Mega Man X
Captain Commando
Regina (Dina Crisis)
Grey (Mega Man ZX Advent)

Of course Mega Man X will probably have the best chance, but I can try to believe can’t I?

This list has hayato and jin, but no strider. Not sure i can 100% support that list. :stuck_out_tongue:

The list might not be true, but I do like to dream  Also, who likes Strider anyway?
TSUBAKI!!

Bad idea.

After reading the article about how Tokido and Mago were playing Yun and Yang, it sounds like Yang will probably be the better character. Anyone who has to rely mainly on aerial game to do big damage and has a bad ground game is at a major disadvantage in SSFIV, but I do like the news about Yun’s meter gain. I’ll probably still try Yun out first, before Yang.

@ abk: If you do the KOF2002UM money match, I’m putting it on the stream XD

I’d put Rufus in that category but he has stupid herp options. Genei-Jin’s combo ability will have a huge factor in his ranking. Yang will be good.

Gouken is going to rise up high IMO.

You did this to totally flush me out. Oh, I am so gonna make you hurt the next time I see you.

Last time I checked, even if it is with a certain character, strider makes the top of his tier list. Where is Tsubaki?

All gouken needed was better ground game and a better demonflip to be strong. They did both. I remember people saying all kinds of off the wall shit when super dropped, though. So I’m holding out, but he’s definitely been given what he needed.

Rufus is good because everything he has is good at what it’s supposed to do. Divekicks recover instantly, great reversal, great ultras, etc. Seth said there’s plenty of undocumented changes though.

I’m still in the crowd that says if Fei winds up being able to cancel cr.mk into specials he’ll instantly be top 5.

Needs more Dudley

@Usagi: I’ve said this in the past but, Tsubaki has one major flaw that keeps her from being “upper tier”. And thats the mechanic behind her dmg output. Its gimped and its getting buffed. in CS2, so get those noobaki jokes in while you still can. When CS2 drops, she’s going to be smashing in the faces of both of our characters.

As for Yun and Yang, I had a mild interest in Yang. But since i’ve resigned myself to only playing super when im in the mood to troll my enthusiasm for either of these characters has slightly dropped. I’d be surprised if capcom managed
to design an “offensive” character that i coulda actually get behind.

@Daedalus: yes this topic needs a more gentlemenly atmosphere.
