Marcus and I played a lot of MvC2 during our time at putt putt ( Well Marcus was playing before that. ) And EVEN then there was a lot of…
Mag(***)neto.
Storm
Psylocke
Doom
Cable
So much that I just had to learn stryder/doom to deal with it. He forced me to play top tier, I swear! I used to use bitches like Felicia and B.B. Hood as well. Until I realized that winning just wasn’t happening. I have fun with marvel only if the person I am playing with is having fun with Marvel.
Believe it or not, noone around the area at the time used Sent until I started with Strider/Doom. It is a real shocker indeed.
EDIT: OH there was one person. A female, but usage was very seldom. I won’t mention their name for… various reasons. Though it was only really to show off with that lame deady body infinite.
Yeah, if you wanted to be competitive, top tier was your only choice, sadly. So I’d just pick it up and play for shits and giggles. Thomas can atest to this, especially with the random games we played at AZ.
@ Zerog: I honestly don’t recall you ever asking me if you should bring a KOF 2002 setup for casuals, but I’ll take your word for it.
@ Alex: I know you upset because I didn’t have KOF at casuals, but you also have to understand that if the majority of peeps there wanna play Super then I’m not gonna cater to the few peeps who wanna play something else. Yes, it does make sense to have practice for a game that’s gonna be in the tourney, but you can also do that at home.
@ Kimchi: I kinda like the rival idea. I’ve definitely got a few players in mind that I respect as rivals in the community and I’d love to do some ft10’s
I’m also confused about the salt comments. The only upset people I see in this discussion are Zerog and Alex :-/ (for good reason)
I agree that there should be a rival type thing. Something like what TN does with their ranking system. If this gets implemented I wouldn’t mind getting involved. Hell, I might actually SHOW UP TO PLAY =O
Here’s the deal: I don’t have an Xbox360. As a result, all the “practice” that I could get at home involves me fighting the CPU on my PS2 with my pad, since my sticks won’t work with PS2. Even then, I’ve heard nothing but mostly crap about 2002UM’s netcode, so online can’t possibly be good enough practice.
Additionally, it’s not like there wasn’t another Super setup. Not only that but we also had three sticks and a controller for the setup, so everyone could play with whatever they felt comfortable. Most of you guys have dual-modded sticks anyways.
Why don’t people play KOF? It intrigues me. Is it because it requires a bit more aggressiveness and a little less :db:?
@ Alex: I could play SSFIV at home, but that’s why I bring a setup to play peeps elsewhere. Hopefully, we’ll get more KOF players when XIII comes out. It’s probably the closest game that Cola will be able to build another scene around. I would like to say maybe MvC3, but I’m not gonna hold my breathe.
When it comes to a rival for BBCS, I’ve got a certain (TSUBAKI!) hater on my list. waves at Thomas
So I went to the record store and got that new Kanye West. Straight Fire. I use my buy one get Lei Hates Free rival coupon. i printed it off free money.com.
