I’m salty.
Edit: Now that I’m done trolling, I tried watching the rest of that Venture Bros dvd Eskay let me borrow, but I couldn’t watch more than 10 minutes of it.
What is this Madness Gaming I is be hearing talkin’ z’about? Yall kids better keep ur noses out’da all dat voodoo urd what’not I don wanna needs to be castin no anti curse spells on yalls.
Vega Pwns All: That Is All.
Seriously though, if you want to play KOF, nothing is stopping you from bringing the setup yourself. If you salty you made a long ass drive and didn’t play the game you wanted to, you got no one to blame but yourself. Bring your console to casuals if you want to play it.
If motha fuckas wanted to play Melty nobody is going to say no. But they better bring their own setup cuz I sure as fuck aint
@Jaguar: If the show isnt for you then you shouldnt force yourself to watch it. Granted the later seasons are better than the first, i wont tell someone to sit through something their not enjoying. Unlike some other ppl i know :ahem:
On the subject of learning match-ups, i’ll try to upload those Guile matches that Dwaine and John had trouble with. I would of did it yesterday but i was so tired from the drive on saturday that i decided to just be a lazy bum on sunday and do nothing at all. I did watch the vid though, and its kinda sickening to watch. Just as quickly as those Sakura matches got me thinking i might enjoy super, those guile vids reminded me why i hate it so much.
Guile ruining the game for people? That sounds oh, so familiar! Part of the reason why I took a long break from it in the first place. With Daigo using him at Canada Cup, the number of Guile players increased. Why? Because you don’t have to practice with that man to win. Not to mention that OMG DAIGO USED HIM! * Insta main. *
@KoF Talk: I agree with the statements of if you’re wanting it to be played at madness then to provide your own set up for it. I don’t THINK that it was implied that Jaguar’s xbox was going to be used for KoF only ( if not at all. ) Sad story, the majority of this community plays Super. Therefore, more set ups for that particular game shouldn’t be surprising. I’m no fan of fighting different kinds of Balrog myself, but… what can you do about it? I’d like more people to play marvel, but I know damn well that if I wanted that to happen, I’d bring my own set up. Hell… I did it a few times for BB:CS at Nashi whenever Ben didn’t feel like bringing his PS3.
@Xavier: Why in the hell are you salty? You won both of those matches, even if I made a mistake in ours. I took C.LK like a freaking champ!
Better solution: play good games that other people play?
<3
Liiiiike? You know that would require things that either A. Not of this generation. B. Noone has ever even heard of. I play marvel… and even I think it is a bad/broken game.
Sure, I’ll go ahead and bring my 42 fucking inch TV by carrying it 20 miles piggyback.
If KOF2002UM is not going to be played at casuals, why the fuck bother with a tournament? Might as well cancel the shit if there’s no way for people to practice. Can I predict who’s going to win?
Considering I WON’T BE THERE, that is.
I think that the fact that there is a tournament for it next week sort of implies casuals should PROBABLY happen, but maybe it’s just me making sense.
Cause it isn’t if people don’t rely on the infinites, hell I grew up playing marvel as well as kof.
In regard to the set up I asked if I should bring something and was told don’t worry bout it.
but nevermind now its handled.
Considering that not even half of the roster for Capcom isn’t even viable in comparison to the Marvel side? That marvel has more options outside of infinites than the capcom side? That Marvel does more -damage- than most of the Capcom side? It’s pretty much common knowledge that most marvel players, old or new, use at least -two- characters from that side and one on capcom. That one generally being either Tron Bonne or Captain Commando. No! Not because they’re great characters. But because of their -assists-. By themselves, they’re pretty much dead characters. That’s most of the capcom side. Most of Marvel can fight it out on their own with the exception of perhaps Psylocke.
The pros acknowledge it as a broken game.
The noobs/newbs acknowledge it as a broken game.
I think even some of the CREATORS acknowledge it as a broken game. To be blind to the fact that MvC2 is a broken game is absolutely ridiculous. /end rant
Now, Zerog. I may have just overlooked your post that -may- have said something about you bringing a set up. IF that is the case, then I’ll apologize. I can’t speak for anyone else, but I’m sorry. If it is handled, then this portion of that conversation is over with.
I think MvC2 is broken mostly because Marvel > Capcom.
Infinites aside, if this is to be a clash of two equally-powerful forces, somehow a catgirl doesn’t quite compare to a mutant capable of absorbing your abilities, and neither is it comparable to be a tiny LEGO man to being a freaking enormous robot of destruction, or being a monkey girl can’t really hold a candle to a guy who can manipulate metal.
A Hadoken cannot compete with Cyclops’ laser. Or with Cable’s laser. Or with Sabertooth’s Birdie. Or with Storm’s Typhoon. Or with Psylocke’s projectile. Or with Ice Beam.
Capcom simply cannot compete.
… So glad I picked up a copy of that game for PS2 just in case something like this happened…
All the salt in this thread… sheesh…
These pretzels are making me thirsty.
(By that game, which game? I think there’s talks of like 4 games right now lol)
My statement summarized. I LOVE Cammy in Marvel 2. And Stryder. I use them more than anyone else. Unfortunately, I go into the battles full in mind that cammy will be absolutely blown up if I am not perfect with her. HELL, the only way capcom characters seem to win is if the opposition doesn’t know what the fuck they do.
I would be happy to help anyone lacking in the Guile Matchup =o
@at getting better at the, (something i think i mentioned in the past but we haven’t done yet)
I was watching the road to socal regionals and one thing that alex valle mentioned was everyone in the community having a “rival” who they would play against. I think it would be a good idea to adapt that idea and do a first to 5 with said rival where everyone else watches and seriously critiques. etc.etc. and now that we have a stream we can go back and watch the match, see what we need to work on etc etc.
I was never serious in MvC2 (I’m never uber serious in anything other than KOF), so my team consisted of characters I liked, all of whom happened to be Capcom.
Felicia, Jill, T. Bonne lol
But their options and ESPECIALLY range are SO TERRIBLE they are basically free to most Marvel characters. T. Bonne is the only one with the most decent range.
I ONLY play that game for fun, and by FUN I mean against the CPU, because I have never known fun in that game by playing other people. It just doesn’t happen.
That game being KoF2002UM
Where did you find it? Import? Was that even brought over here?
