Columbia,SC: Going in Strong

What time are you guys going to be set up and playing? If it’s around noon or so, I could maybe make it out there. I would have to leave by like 5pm, because I got plans tomorrow night!

Yeah I got plans for Saturday Night too. It’s called Five Points, and I think lots of whiskey will be involved.

Hey guys bad news. I spoke to the center director and she said that becasue of a play thats going on this weekend we wouldn’t be able to use any rooms that they have to rent out. So it looks like we’re just gonna have to pick another date for us to play on. Any suggestions? Here are the dates again:

Nov 21 - Impact Clash
Nov 28 - Thanksgiving Weekend (we could try something if enough were interested)
Dec 5 - Open
Dec 12 - Augusta has a tournament
Dec 19 - Myrtle Beach has a tournament
Dec 26 - Christmas Weekend
Jan 2 - Open

Play N Trade in Charleston is setting up a Tekken 6/Blazblue tournament for December 5th just in case you guys are interested.

There should be a thread up for it soon.

Needs moar SF4 IMO.

damn that sucks I set aside my whole day for that, and the way I got my ass handed to me at the last 3 tournys I entered dont think I am gonna go to any till I can at least equal up to a couple of people on this forum.

sorry pardon the language

Hey man don’t let tourney results dissuade you from coming. If it’s fun, then why not? If you want to get better, playing against others in a situation like that levels up your game a lot. Also, it pays to get used to playing under pressure situtations, and you only get that at tourneys. So, in my view, going to tourneys is a form of practice in itself, you can get an idea on if you are improving, make new friends, etc. lots of reasons to keep coming regardless of how well you do.

the columbia crowd is probably the most friendly crowd you can ask for. nobody makes fun of anybody for their play. it’s amazing and awesome. so imo stick with it regardless of results. just analyze why you lost and learn from it, but most of all have fun.

just my opinion

A friend of mine told me about the MW2 tourney, as she works down there for Lord Jobs

whaddup guys. Just wanted to say that I hate you guys for meeting Daigo before I could (jk I don’t hate y’all). Anyway, when’s the next/ closest tournament? I need to get back in the game.

this goes out to all ken users. Shoryuken

Bushido: Dec 5th - Charleston Play N Trade (T6/BB)

Dec 12th - Augusta(SF4/T6/BB/more?)

Dec 19th - Myrtle Beach (SF4/T6/BB) get hype!

I think we should have casuals on Dec 5th. I don’t think many people are going to the Play-n-trade tournament and mostly everyone is going to tournaments on the next 2 weekends. It would be the best time to meet formally for the 2 big events coming up.

Awardtour: My youngest, how did impact clash go. Did you make you old man proud? Remember, in the Corbett family we don’t get A’s B’s or C’s. We get W’s.

Agreed. I’m down for booking this date anyone else cool with this?

Impact Clash V was quite entertaining. I wish more of columbia coulda came rather than try to set up secret causal sessions. Tekken is the most hype game ever. I got like 25th in SF4 and went like 2-2. my stick started to act up(stupid ass te stick) so I had to borrow kiyo stick for my last two matches. I do terrible when I use other peoples stick. I guess I’m just superstitious about my arcade sticks. Well I just need more matchup experience. Guess I need to go into the Hyperbolic time chamber with Rufus.

I wish I could’ve made it, sounds like it was a good time. I’m more curious about these secret casual sessions though…care to elaborate? :wow:

People trying to have casuals yesterday rather than go to impact clash.

THAT’S HOW US KEN PLAYERS ROLL SON!!!

okay I wanna start a discussion I was playing tekken recently and got extremlly agrivated at what one of my coworkers kept doing he played as king and kept doing kings triple low kick which i dont mind what really got me agrivated was when he got the timing down and he kept hitting me as soon as I recovered (which is good for him) but cause of that the remaining two rounds I only got one hit in and the question I am trying to propose here is if that is all you need to do to win most games is it truly worth learning all of the moves for specific characters (like my Jin or Akuma) and also (hate to sound like a kid) but who thinks that the sagat in sf4 is way to overpowered for it to truly to be fair fought a guy recently hit him three times as much and he still won the match no problem with three attacks we all know to well (tiger strike, tiger knee, tiger uppercut) every other character I have no problems usally beating or at least doing well against except for sagat and blanka
