I wonder if thats the same combo the computer managed to do on me…it made me go “wtf really?!?”
My impressions of T6:
…im not a fan of Lei but…i think i can still make him work…ive been relatively successful thus far anyway…but thats not saying much…Bob’s tracking ability is f**king ridiculous, and Julia is amazingly fun for some reason (she’s usually boring to me)
Thats about all i have to say thus far about T6. As for the tournament next week (i actually didnt realize this till today)…umm i hope you folks have done your homework on C.Viper…
Edit: i left something out about T6…Pat made Bryan look beastly with the combos. that is all
Lei is actually like upper mid tier in this one. His new stuff looks sweet. I’m loving Ling Xiaoyu’s new mix ups and wall combos and I’m trying to give my low tier Yoshimitsu some love. He’s changed so much since the last one. He has to put his sword away to do some of his better moves. As for new characters, the only on that catches my eye is Zafina. (I guess I’m a bit of a stance character whore.) So is there gonna be a tekken 6 tourney anytime soon?
Its not so much his tier placing, but rather how his playstyle has changed from T5:DR to T6. Before, counter hits were just a bonus and you could choose to play really tricky to get your damage in but now, its counter hit fishing. Maybe after playing the game a bit more, my opinion will change but thats just how it feels right now
In this game, juggles aren’t the backbone of your game like it was in the 5 series. In 5 it was pretty much move around to force a whiff, then launch. Throw a few low pokes in there as well. This game has much more emphasis on the ground game due to the 120% damage for standing attacks. Juggles are important and you need to be able to land your combos, but you can’t walk around throwing out launchers in this game (with the exception of a couple of characters).
Focus on figuring out what tracks what way, when to use your lows, your quick mids, your safe mids, your frame advantage granting moves, etc. In this game it’s a lot more prudent to randomly throw out a crush like it was in 5, but with the way the system works, you can eat the punish early on but you really don’t want to eat it later in the round.
I’m wanting to have another Myrtle Beach tournament. The date I’m currently looking at is Nov 28th. Games would be SF4/BB/T6. Singles and Teams for everything.
I found out that I am going to have to work on Nov 7 at 3. If SF4 is quick (end around 2:30) I can still try to swing that one. How’d it look on the last one?
I agree, How about Dec. 12.
Finals are over, and not too many people have left for the holidays
Maybe I am just destined not to participate in any of this stuff. I just want to get in on SF4. I’m gonna look into seeing if someone wants to switch my shift.
This is the truth. Hell, I’m playing in like 5 games and the only game I’d say i have any real skill in is SF4. The rest I’m just going to scrub and have fun. Events like this are a blast, even if you lose early.
Ugh. Tekken is sooo hard to learn for a noob like myself. It’s absolutey mind-numbing how much you have to memorize in order to stand a chance in this game.
