Yeah, they aren’t even testing for it when you hit a doctor’s office these days – for one, swine flu is not actually very harmful, and for another, like 50 to 60% of the US population is going to catch it by the end of the winter supposedly.
I caught something horrible in Kyoto in June, which I thought was swine flu (at the time, swine flu was going around like crazy in kansai), and now I’m sick again. So between the two I better have gotten it, I don’t want to catch the shit later in the semester 
by the way, theres something far more fatal than swine flu…

I really wish we had one of those LAN centers around here like the Wreck Room. I still can’t believe with the kind of customers they were getting there they had to shut down, but I guess that’s what happens when you do ill-advised expansion, research it poorly, fuck it up and have to do it over again.
I kinda wonder about that Virtual Arena place… but this seriously worries me from their rules list:

Can you imagine how fast Gunther’s would have like banned me for life if there’d been a rule against going “fuck!” when you drop a combo?

Anyway, apparently they have a “new location” now – a bunch of TVs in the back of that Game City place next to the Wal-Mart on W Broadway. That’d be a lot more convenient than Vandiver, but I bet they close at like 8 PM… hmmm.

Seriously, I don’t think it’s a bad idea except that switching sticks would be a nightmare. The problem with playing at home IMO is you don’t really get new players like that, and while we have some top-rate talent here in Allen and Shekeib we’ve got, what, like four other players total or something?
And I hosted all of the Columbia hookups for like two years, it kinda gets old. Maybe it works for STL, but it seems like they have like six or seven different people willing to host as opposed to one or two.
Having said that…
I may be hosting games at my place this weekend. It was supposed to be this Tuesday but I got sick on Friday and today is the first day I’ve felt even remotely human, so I want to give it time to make sure I’m not somehow contagious, etc. It may not work out because my cousin’s having a birthday party on Saturday, so it’d have to be Sunday.
I’ve got a PS3 with MVC2 (is this a playable port offline? I can’t get ROM inf to undizzy, but I was never great at it on Dreamcast either), SFIV and (sigh) BlazBlue, and a PS2 back at my parents’ house that I can run and grab with GG and 3S. Unfortunately, I only have one TV, not two like back at my parents’ place.
I’m not really interested in playing GG or BB, but if you guys have to…

I think the marvel port feels wierd, but ppl who know the game alot more than me dont seem to have a problem with it so far. SB4 is still DC version, but im not sure if it has anything to do with the port.
I don’t really like BB at all, and I get the impression no one in Columbia is that interested in learning GG. If I’m wrong, that’s different.
So specifically, I have this problem with the addf.lk->lk giving me two LKs instead of LK, MK even when I feel like I’m doing it at a speed that would have worked on the DC. I haven’t played Marvel in like… years and years though, and I never used to play Magneto, so I could just be misremembering the timing.
I haven’t been able to get past 40 hits more than once since I started practicing yesterday. Maybe I am not cut out for Magneto…
