Moonpie Mint and Chocolate are pretty nice too. Sadly, i could not try the Vanilla as its gone. Overall, my favorite has been the Banana. Just something about it was neat.
I recommend these if anyone has a biglots near their area that carry’s them. The only store i’ve seen these at.
does anyone here believe they can tell whether coffee is fresh or not?
I drink at least a couple cups a day and I couldn’t tell you the difference besides fresh coffee is scolding hot. My brother works as a barista and says picky customers refuse freshly made coffee, insisting it isn’t actually fresh because they weren’t around to see it brewed. I’m convinced nobody has any idea what fresh coffee tastes like compared to older coffee and it pisses me off that fresh coffee is seen as desirable when it takes 15 minutes of waiting to sip the shit without burning your tongue.
My mom got a Keurig coffee maker for Christmas. It lets you make individual cups of coffee, but you have to use these little cups that contain the coffee. She got all these different flavours like German chocolate. I tried it out and I like it. The only issue is that you have to use the cups, which is used specifically with the Keurig. You can’t just use any brand of coffee. The cups are made by Timothy’s and I believe Starbucks. Not sure if there are any others, like Tim Horton’s.
So has anyone tried the bulletproof coffee, with organic butter and mct oil? I’ve heard a lot of crazy things about it and would be really interested in knowing if it’s just all hype.
I can mostly tell when coffee is fresh. It depends on what you mean, though. There’s about a two week period after the beans are roasted where the beans are considered fresh. They start to go stale around the two week mark and the lose some of their flavor. They’ll continue to get stale as time passes and could eventually begin to rot or get moldy as they’re exposed to more oxygen and moisture in the air.
As far as brewed coffee goes, you can typically tell how recently the brew has been made due to the level of acidity in the coffee itself, depending on brew method. The real problem with this is that certain factors, such as water temperature and grind fineness/consistency, will produce a more or less acidic cup.
Now most of the popular coffee shops, such as Starbucks or Peets will roast their coffees to insanely dark levels, and the beans themselves are often used at least two weeks after roasting, so the flavor of their coffee is muted but has strong burnt characteristics regardless. So all this to say that with fresh beans and proper brewing conditions, it’s very possible to taste the difference between fresh coffee and older coffee. However, even freshly brewed coffee can taste off under certain conditions.
So I tried a bulletproof coffee today and damn, it just keeps going and going and going. 7 hours later and I was still flying. Had a meal after 8 hours and that has taken the edge off a little bit, but wow, the focus it gives you is unreal. No drops at all, it was amazingly consistent.
I just got a side job at Starbucks… I have to do coffee tastings, which is interesting. But the more interesting things is seeing how people are about their coffee. ish gets quite crazy out there.
This was 48元 where I’ve been buying my coffee. (with the exchange rate, just above $7) Not the fanciest french press in the world (Starbucks wanted 260元 for the same size, was a touch nicer, but not by much), but it certainly got the job done. The taste from the House Blend I’ve normally drank was markedly better.
Once I’m out of the House Blend, I’m grabbing some Ugandan. Also picking up a single-cup french press for travelling. Can’t go back to those 7-Eleven bottled coffees in Korea now that I’ve seen the light.
It’s amazing how many people in america are fuckin’ addicts and don’t even realize it. We got your smokers, then there’s the poor slobs who “Can’t live without coffee”, and finally, the guy everybody knows who goes through like 5-15 energy drinks a day. Wtf?
Decided to raise this thread instead of starting a new one. Wanted to ask if anyone has ever tried the Dunkin Donuts Coffees? Not a big coffee drinker, but thought about giving them a shot,
EDIT: Also wondering if @Llama_egg ever got that French Press
