It grates even more given that it’s pretty likely Decapre was ‘chosen’ because she wouldn’t require a new model etc. I could understand that decision given the financial issues we’ve heard about, but if that’s the case then why are they wasting time/money with this nonsense?
I didn’t mind that it was a doll when I heard about it because all 9 dolls that haven’t been used can be a complete new character with the same model design. (ala Ken/Ryu/Akuma/etc.) But instead that chose the easy route and stuck some cammy/bison/vega normals on her. It’s not really new but it’s not really old.
But for them to KNOW the issues at hand, say they know, and then continue to ignore or not even say more than “we’re working on it” months ago doesn’t cut it for me. Especially if they’re willing to fix the fuck ups in the previous “patch” and then fix 3 unintentional hiccups out of the bajillion other problems found with characters is a slap in the face. Then they pour more salt to your wounds by announcing Omega aka Rainbow Edition. If they had time to adjust the code of the characters this much, I can only imagine how “hard” it must be to actually fix the bugs/problems found.
If they were recycling models i would have wanted Haggar or Karin (her model wasn’t too far from Sakura’s). However I’m happy Decapre is a charge character.
Sasaki looked completely lost on what to do. First set looked like he was trying to see what Nemo would do. Then after that he started catching on but a lot of it just looks like no matchup experience because Nemo ran a train.
I don’t think anything’s bad. Sasaki just lacks a lot of experience compared to the others which isn’t a surprise. You have players who have more than enough experience as a player and have traveled more than him to gain experience. Then you have the others who play a character Cody either has trouble with or Sasaki has probably little to no experience fighting against.
Nothing wrong with it. Just shows Sasaki has a lot to learn as a player and Cody main. If anything it’s just nice to see Cody getting some type of limelight.
I don’t think you can use lack of experience as an excuse. Sasaki has been playing Cody since Super so he is probably the most experienced Cody out there.
There are a lot of players in Topanga B league that also haven’t travelled, but that doesn’t really matter since Japan is highly competitive and they all play one another anyway.
Sasaki just seems off his game so far. I find it funny the single match he won was against Mochi’s Dhalsim 3-0 and the match-up is one of Cody’s worst. Hopefully, he picks it up for the future rounds.
Top 8, actually. And both spent the majority of the match trying to get the knife, with Sevendaggers closing the set out with knife c.HP > U2. =D
Great plays from both of them throughout the entire tournament. Sevendaggers played really impressively, finishing 5th in singles and 3rd in teams. RiktigNinja did a good job as well. Both are going to Red Fight District as well, with some luck we’ll see even better placements there.
(i got knocked out in pools qq. Made 5th in ST though, so I’m happy)
I switched my buttons around on pc so i can use the back button, makes FADC, cr.lp soooooooooo much easier, as is cl.mp U2. Still have to get used to new button placement, everything went 1 place to the right.
I only have heard of just over half of top 8. Phenom I know of but Seven Daggers I barely know and have heard of a couple times and only on these forums. Veggey I’ve heard of only since ultra dropped but he’s been making a lot of noise in tournaments. Luffy and Ryan Hart of course are well known
However I’ve never heard of Duppsko, Four Leaf, or RiktigNinja. They consistent placers in euro majors?
Edit: just looked at the results, I dunno ANYONE else in top 16.
WTFudge (Balrog)
Quakeulf (T. Hawk)
Prozac (C. Viper)
Yashar (Gouken)
Wreil
Dudleif (Dudley)
Offen (Gen)
Blackmage
Not a damn one. None of them even show up in the SRK ranking player search, which searches tournaments for super/ae/ae2012 as well as USF4 http://rank.shoryuken.com/rankings/search?player= also no appearances by Four Leaf (or 4Leaf, thought I’d try both) or RiktigNinja or Seven Daggers. Duppsko has 1 appearance for AE2012 and 1 for USF4 so far that have been catalogued.
I know that it’s up to whomever manages the thing to put in the data so it’s FAR from perfect. But man, Other than top 4 it sounds like it wasn’t that big on top players.
i’m not sure if four leaf is the same four leaf that played KoFXIII when it first dropped because that guy IIRC lives on the west coast (and was playing Mature.)
