So have they actually fixed all the weird hitbox stuff with knife, CH 4mp and the delay in Rocks?
Well, they definitely did fix Jaw Crusher’s CH properties and the delay in charged rocks. Not sure about the knife.
So, I’ve got a question: you know that idiotic part of U2 where, if you anti-air with it or your opponent gets hit in a backdash, you’ll will eat a combo-video punish even if it hits? I suddenly realized that a possible quick-fix for this, and one that requires zero effort on Capcom’s part, would be to reduce the amount of wrench hits after the dust(but before the cinematic thingie) from 5 to 3.
If anyone’s actually going to some kind of event where a beta build is presented, could you throw in this suggestion? Unless I’m overlooking something and it’s actually a really stupid idea, that is. :V
that was proposed as well. They could also just slightly decrease the recovery, or just let it stop after the first wrench hit on block / whiff.
I know Zukuu mentioned awhile ago (outside of the above post) to have it where Cody just hit’s the wrench once after the dust. I personally wanted it to be like Bison’s U1 where if the dust hits a airborne opponent, land them and get the full hits. (with damage toned down to the ultra completely.) But it’d be too good in that way.
Though i’d be fine if the juggle properties carried over even if the dust hits. (as opposed to getting the wrench hits+animation if the dust whiffs an airborne opponent.) That or at least a hard knockdown that doesn’t have them recover before Cody.
I know I suggested it when they asked for stuff on the capcom unity forums and possibly at NEC when the ultra build was there.
So we have the confirmation that in the latest USFIV build crack kick is still airborne from the 1st frame don’t we?
The beta change log is supposed to be posted soon, so I’d wait for that.
So I heard you guys like knowing that they are completely ignoring any feedback.

Just…I mean…ya know…
So nothing different to what’s already been reported?
Making EX CU more punishable is fine if they actually give it proper invincibility and don’t remove throw invincibility. Backdash needs less recovery more than it needs more distance IMO.
Most if not all middle/low tiers are getting great, and in some cases excessive buffs. Cody = Jokes
The only new change is c.MK being also on hit better. It’s now -1 on hit, meaning we can link c.LP, s.LP, c.MP, cl.MP and c.LK after it if spaced. Has a maximum of +6 now!
c.MK is a cool tool now. I dig it.
Waaaaaaaitaminute…

Not a new change. It was there at the Capcom Cup build. The change list is 100% identical to what was at Capcom Cup back in december. Any feedback given was filed into the circular folder:

Yeah, but it wasn’t noted for ‘on hit’ so far (tho, I assumed it was changed as well). Now we have numbers for it.
And I agree, it’s a bummer that the only change they made for Cody was to nerf the airborne frames.
I’ll always will keep playing Cody but maybe not as a main anymore, he’s buffed but tbh i’m not excited about him in the least. Finally found my secondary char in Yun, a character which i really really liked…and they keep nerfing him, so if everything sticks(which i assume will as we are pretty far in the development now) i might look for another character. Hope the 5th character is cool so i can main her. Might otherwise go back to either Ibuki or Guy or try E.Ryu.
I’m actually really looking forward to being able to get away with my bad habit of overusing c.MK. That move stuffs pretty much everything in its current state, it being safe and possible to link stuff after in Ultra is going to make it his best move by far.
But… yeah, having the airborne frames for Crack Kick start when the move is active rather than during the start up? Does that actually make the move do anything that it doesn’t already do, except maybe beat EX Command Grabs if people do them on wake up?
I still can’t get over how useless that armour breaking knife throw is. I’ve used cody since super and never once has anyone focused the knife. I really like the U2 buff and it will help a lot in the sagat matchup. All I really wanted was a walkspeed buff. Also how do you think the charge fix to his rocks will play out in matchups. Maybe it can be used more on teleport characters on reaction.
Alot of the buffs are helpfull, but very situational, need some things that i can use more than once every couple of matches.
As far as Cody goes, I’m about to say I’ve had it, if these are what is to be expected of the final changes. I’d like to share my thoughts on what I’m seeing.
First off, Capcom seems to have some weird desire to really push the use of the knife. So much so, I feel they are trying to FORCE a player into using the knife. I lurk through these forums along other places and very rarely do I see any requests for knife buffs, yet here they are and more than one buff.
Secondly, I don’t understand the Capcom logic behind any changes really. I feel with Cody they are trying to do “fair” buffs with him. Other times I feel they listen to a buff but nerf it. Like airborne crack kick. Technically they listened, but the 8TH FRAME?! I don’t even know how that’s any more useful than what he has now. What? Random air reset for getting hit on reaction or something? Wow. For whatever reason, it appears that no matter what is requested, there is no intention to make him more versitle. It’s as if they are only trying to keep him where he is given other buffs on characters.
Which brings me to my final point. Have you even read the other buffs?! Dudley’s Rose now does 1 chip damage and has +13 frame advantage!! PLUS 13!! On a hard knock down in the corner it will be f–king game over. Cammys Ex Cannon Strike was bitched about due to it being +15. But that at least cost bar and needed to be airborne. Dudley has a free projectile with huge frame advantage. How-does-this-make-sense???
And don’t even get me started on how Akuma can now do Ex Air Fireball off a demon flip. Just. I don’t even know.
Anyway… Besides my ranting, truth be told it’s gonna be like this: When Ultra hits if you want to win tournaments you’re going to need a top tier. Otherwise if you’re just playing for “fun” then hey… At least you’re having fun?
