Fuck i dislike zonk combos.

Cody seems like he’ll be an amazing battery with his ability to do good damage without the use of meter plus he has great anti-airs and many ways around fireballs. Just the fact that he has a roll to add to his wakeup options is huge and will make him a bitch to deal with.

Add in he has his knife to do plenty of chip damage against people trying to turtle,one combo takes half your life, and Criminal Upper being godlike for tag ins and I’d say I’m pretty damn hype over him in this game.

He doesn’t need ground/wall bounces at all because we have confirmation that he can juggle after many of his anti-airs and already has many ways to extends combos with ex bad stone and ex Zonk Knuckle for extra damage if needed.

Very pleased to hear about the Guy buffs in that video, let’s be honest…Cody was already good…Guys needed buffs more than Cody did.

Yeah i agree, but i just wish that they added a wall bounce or at least a new move since seeing him with a wrench and a pipe was badass

The way it seems is that Cody will be good at keepaway. I suck at combos so im fine with short hard hitting ones.

Maybe, he certainly has the anti-airs to get away with it a little but it seems they nerfed the trajectory of his bad stone. It looks like it falls faster or something in this game.

One thing I do know is that Guile and zoners are gonna have a shitty time trying to keep Cody out, especially because his charge move is ruffian kick which is basically free almost full screen punish for fireballs. He could also fake the charge to get them worried about the slide then dash in regularly…mind games…

I’m gonna miss the SFIV voice = . Whistling, talking shit I can’t understand after “jackpah!”, “haha” was more of a troll laugh than a girl screaming, and his super’s “feeyneesh”

Oh please Guile will not be a problem for Cody I was just saying he could use the chargable ruffian when Guile players try to charge booms for a easy punish. Maybe I overestimated the distance I not sure because I haven’t watched the vid in a while.

I wonder if the ex ruffian kick is gonna really safe in this one, if it is then that’s pretty much a free way in set up Cody’s pressure. And I hated his terrible jap VA, I’ll still be using the US VA because that voice is perfect for Cody without any of the Japan voice guy’s overacting .

cody looks so solid <3. cu => switch cancel looks like you have a VAST amount of time.

maaaan, I am now completely positive he’s a solid character, criminal upper looks so safe, only thing that might be a problem is how do I apply pressure with frame traps if throws are ass and cross cancel could be good enough to get me to stop pressing buttons, and now I see a future with all his stuff easily being cross cancelled sigh god damn it.

EDIT: I guess I could bait them into doing it leaving me in a position to punish, aah we’ll see.

Cody seems kind of weird in this game.
I did only use him for a few hours, though.

In a game like this chip damage is really important so I think the knife will be a much more important part of Cody’s game. When the timer is going down Cody’s ability to do chip on normals will be a huge advantage because they won’t be able to sit and take 20 seconds of chip with how fast Cody can throw out cr:lp: over and over again.

This will be especially important if we still can’t combo after our overhead.

Cody’s Criminal Upper when tag cancelled seems to have the same properties as Juri’s pinwheel (Float property). This means you can follow up with a jumping heavy, standing normal, special with your partner. For example, when I play Cody/Cammy, I can combo with s.hp f+mp cr.mp HP CU (tag cancel into Cammy) j.hk s.mp s.hp cannon strike for very good damage.

Overall, I think Cody is very solid in this game and it is very easy to hit confirm after his s.hp for big damage. Although I have to say his ex moves pretty much suck all around except for ex zonk. EX Ruffian is extremely slow, doesn’t travel very far, and because you can pretty much roll after every knockdown, there’s no reason why you should really use EX Ruffian. I should try experimenting canceling chains into ex rocks.

Man, Capcom needs to just release Cody already. Fuck Sony & their stupid Vita. If they wanted a Vita exclusive character, they should have asked for Drake or Kratos.

Cody is always at the top of his game with chip damage.
