there is a lot of time to follow up wiht that jab. its not a 1 framer thats for sure. But, question is, why would u waste 2 stock on something that is gonna take severe damage scaling at that point? I have done this follow up sometimes, but I usually only FADC if I need to use a frame trap on block or something. I’m not sure if it would be more efficient to just end in EX CU, into another EX CU or something like that without spending two bars on the FADC.
I was trying to do trial 24 lol. I do the FADC and when i go for the jab they’ve already recovered. I have no intent of actually doing this combo in a game
just keep trying. you’ll be fast enough eventually.
c.mp+c.lp+c.lk works decently vs rufus. same with c.hp against higher divekicks. without meter he’s just as free as you are, so rush the sh1t out of him. you can also bait his ex messiah on wakeup and do a bj.hk to beat it. rest is mostly zoning, s.hk, rocks, fake rocks etc. don’t fall into a pattern tho, you don’t wanna trade with his c.hp.
I also think that if Rufus does EX Messiah Kick, Crack kick beats/dodges all follow-ups.
I found if you know he’s gonna do it cr.mk slides under ex messiah on wakeup then you can punish.
Also as I’ve been ranking up players i’m fighting aren’t falling for frame traps and they are teching almost every throw attempt. What is there left to do to get them open?
ALSO why can people throw me after a blocked crossup when I go for a frame trap. Shouldn’t stand strong counter hit? I’ve been doing j.mk, st.strong but they throw me before the strong comes out
Final also, i figured out why i get bet by focus attacks all the time. Whenever I just sit there and block its me REALLY trying to back away from it i’m just not back dashing cause I don’t wanna get hit during the backdash
Against better opponents, you have to delay your frame trap or leave a bigger gap in it. Good opponents will delayed crouch tech to be extremely safe, so you have to adjust your frame trap timing. Better yet opponents simply won’t crouch tech or just tech with a throw, severely limiting your trap options.
Well, that’s the risk of a frame trap. If you leave 3 frames for the opponent, his throw will beat your normal because their have better priority (I could be wrong here, I think I read somewhere that the system randomly determines who wins in an exact frame confrotation). If you notice they’re not crouch teching, either crossup into EX Bingo or do cr.lk xx HP CU. Unfortunately, since you can’t hit confirm off a low with Cody, you have to take a risk to punish people doing that.

You can’t play many frametraps against these people… it’s the same with mindgames… you can’t play mindgames against players who don’t use their minds Bait dat shit out of them. This tactics do not work against characters with many safe specials =/ Cody also has some frametraps with a 3 frame gap, if you don’t hit the timing exactly it’s 4 or 5 frames… thats not good when your opponent has 3 frame jabs or sth. like this (mash it!!!) ;(
I recognized that I do much better against players with >3300 PP. These players think and know the beasty tactics Cody has. Frametraps work really good in these cases
And yeah, Rufus can be very painfull for Cody, El Fuerte ist painfull, too. But he also takes the risk of his mixups… zukuu is right, it’s 5:5. No problem man, I loose often against Fuertes, too
So I’m fighting this sakura and it comes down to the wire. I block her SRK and I do an HK ruffian when she lands to punish. HOWEVER she gets hits and recovered immediately! I went to FADC U1 but she recovered instantly even though she got hit! i ended up getting punched int he face and lost

I just ragequit for the first time today. I fought a balrog that I couldn’t beat because it was so laggy I couldn’t react to anything. I’d see shit coming a mile away and couldn’t do anything to stop it. At one point he did a fullscreen lunge punch and bingo didn’t come out cause it was so laggy
i have a question, frame data says close HP is 8f startup and 6f on hit. Crouch HP is 7f. So the combo c.HP, .cr. HP should never work right?
Right. If you hot the cl.HP on Counter Hit, you can link cr.HP

I dont know what happened but i’m hustling backwards right now. Everything i have improved on in the last couple weeks suddenly disappeared and I have no clue why. I’m falling back into all my old habits that I thought I broke and i’m playing terribly all over again. This is depressing
might be the opponents you face. if you adapt to bad players too much, you actually gonna adept it into your basic playstyle which makes you play worse against good opponents. just a wild guess tho.
I think its the opposite. I’ve been playing a lot in person with some very good players lately and I can keep up there. I go online and I get wrecked
keep it simpler online. do less frame traps, more tick throws.
