note that you can only do it when you could “tech” [also known as quick] stand up. so NOT after any throw, sweeps and not after many ultras or specials that force an untechable knockdown.

Now I read over a few pages but don’t see anything definitive so I figured I would ask here.

What moves of Codys are throw invulnerable?

I know EX-Zonk for sure. I read once that EX-CU is as well but I didn’t know if that was true. I also know that Lk and Mk Ruffian are not invulnerable to throws but can avoid throws due to the small hop in the start up of the move.

Anyone know for a fact everything that can counter a throw?

okay silly question what are codys cross-ups? I probably could look thru the thread, but I was hoping someone could tell me thanks alot.

I oull that many times online, Haha, It took me around 2 months to realize its actually a useful move.

since the overhead is -1 on hit is it punishable by anything?

but who does the overhead on close range?

I don’t know how practical this combo is but I think it’s Cody’s strongest non-knife, non super/ultra combo for only 2 EX bars.

In the corner:
Level 3 FA, Dash, EX-Rocks, cr.Fierce, lp CU, Juggle with EX CU.
Does 440 damage(Almost 50% life) and 671 stun.

I find it kinda hard to consistantly hit FA>FADC>EX-Rocks without making them get airborne…

if it makes them airborn just use crackkick xx ex cu

I didn’t say FADC. Its just regular Level 3 FA.

So once more the combo it:

Lvl3 FA> Dash in>EX rocks~Cr.Fierce xx Lp criminal upper, juggle with EX CU

i think he meant the same, but if you’re not extremly fast it will make them airborne during focus crumple

n btw could you pimp that combo with another 2 bars n hk ruffian. i posted it one page before. 900+ stun

Why do a lot of players link after jabs with c.LK xx Forward Ruffian instead of c.MP xx Fierce Criminal which does significantly more damage?

Better range and an easier link

Not to mention when you’re at range where you need to hit c.lk you would miss most of the criminal upper hits so you miss out on a lot of damage

I find the c.MP link pretty easy, so I always go for that. I can understand Forward Ruffian for further away, though, but it might be hard to judge when I should be using it instead of Fierce Criminal.

I kind of wish CU had a slight vacuum effect in that if part of the tornado hits, you eat all the rest like Chun Li’s U2. Would be fun doing LP CU and juggling for full hits with EX CU after instead of only getting one or two tiny hits from it. :slight_smile:

c.mp will whiff if not used within range. even after 2x c.lp c.mp will often whiff if you werent closest distance. furthermore, even if c.mp will hit, following CU will often only hit with the tornado. c.lk has far more range and will make any CU hit FULLY - every time and distance. in the end you do more damage+stun that way. ofc if u r in range, use c.mp. but all in all you WOULD do better if you only use c.lk instead of c.mp - luckily you aint forced to use only one :wink:

if you cross up it’s usually better to go c.lp, c.lp, c.lk xx ruffian because when you cross up SOMETHING is going to whiff whether it be the c.mp or some hits from the criminal upper

If you cancel into CU from cr.lp cr.lp cr.lk, the initial hit almost never misses since cr.lk has much less pushback than cr.mp. If you plan on using MK RK anyway though, you may as well just use cr.mp range is irrelevant and you score more damage, and you HAVE to use cr.mp if you want to combo LK RK for that juicy untechable.
