yeah if you could skim these down to 80-100 bucks Im sure they’d sell like hot cakes
I agree with you Phatal, but they’re beautiful cases! Excellent work.
Pretty much this. I wouldn’t hesitate to buy one were they cheaper / in this price range. (I realize they’re probably expensive to make mat wise, but the fact remains that 165 - 170 is quite a bit of money for just the case. T_T )
Absolutely beautiful cases though. I also enjoyed watching the youtube of them being manufactured. =P
take a look at the cost of stick building thread and you can see how all this stuff adds up. granted some tools and materials are different the fact remains that making a stick is fairly expensive, even if its just a blank case.
with customs, unless you have the skills to make a top-tier stick and some kind of hook-up for materials, you pretty much get what you pay for. I have 4 of these cases (two are mine, one is for my wife and the last will be a gift to a close friend), and they are worth every penny. the quality of the design and materials is superb; these things will last forever if you take care of them.
I think all of us understand how much it costs to build a case. It’s just that most of us can’t afford these; especially when there’s a fully built sanwa stick on Amazon for 90 bucks.
I’d be willing to pay extra for one of these, but I simply can’t afford the asking price. I’m glad some people can though; they look awesome.
then simply don’t purchase it. These aren’t meant to be charity, or to even be given at a negative profit to players who can’t afford them. If its out of the price range then settle for the terrific TE stick, or even the new Tekken 6 stick.
Yeah this isn’t really a “value” object. It is a pure luxury, heavy duty case. This is one of the few cases where you can truly stand on top although I would not recommend it if you weigh more than 200 lbs.
well a stick you can stand on isn’t that special. I made a model bridge made out of balsa wood in HS that I was able to stand on. Mere sticks held up, a box like a joystick would do it no problem.
Easy there bud, you’re not saying anything that people don’t already understand. All the comments about price only show that people would buy them if they could afford them because they’re so nice. There’s no reason to get defensive on behalf of the case maker. On the contrary, it’s quite a compliment.
its such a compilement that you’re trying to get him to lower the price… I fail to see how you dimishing his hard work by haggling the price is supposed to flatter him.
Really now? I did not read anywhere in there where Tao told him or even asked him to lower the price. He simply said that he would be love to own this case if it wasn’t so pricey.
It’s no different than people admiring expensive cars or anything else that fits into the “designer” category. “Damn, I’d love to own one, but it’s not in my price range” is all he was saying.
On that note, it is quite a well built case, part of me doesn’t want to part with mine
Exactly Tigre, exactly.
Wow guys. Thanks all for coming to my defense for the case prices, I appreciate the fact that you all are acknowledging the amount of time and work that goes into mfg these.
To address people’s concern in regards to the case prices being too high, I completely understand where you are coming, before manufacturing these I was expecting to only sell them at 125/150, however, I soon realized that it was taking me a lot more time than I had anticipated, so I had to raise the prices to cover my costs & the labor involved.
I’ve since stopped manufacturing these cases as interested died off and there was too many people pming complaining about price as well as trying to haggle for $5-$10 less.
Perhaps if there is enough interest again then I would do another mass production where it would just be a simplified version where no colors are offered, unassembled, no top plexi, and only 1 type of case is available vs variations & options.
On a side note, it looks like Gamingnow.net is almost out of all my cases except for silver. I also have some leftover as well so those who are interested let me know. I don;t have any w. the neutrik adapter just your standard 24mm holes.
Once again, thanks all for your support.
then it should be restated. opposed to saying that it should be like 70-80 dollars for a bare case like one of you said.
70-80$ for a metal case = LOL !
74 EUR is what I found closest to an arcade stick cases in electronic shops, but you have to drill several holes, the shape is not as nice as the one from NHTRAN … and it’s plastic+steel (as opposed to anodized aluminium)
If you where to go and produce 1 version I think the following suggestions would probably make this sell the best:
8 button curved vewlix layout only.
**Resize the case so that it is compatible with Tek-innovations Regulaur Tournament edition plexi with no Turbo hole. **Maybe get in contact with Arthong for the dimensions. He might even give you a free plexi and laser cut files if you ask him nicely. That way people could have options for plexi and button layout and artwork, Art will get a few more sales.
For top, 3 24mm holes that accomadate 24mm Sanwa,
4th Neutrik port hole standard and should be placed with edge against bottom of case, so the metal push tab on RJ-45 can be fully pushed in and used with Ruggedized Neutrik boots. Notch should be built into bottom of Neutrik hole. One could plug hole with a button 24mm sanwa button plug if they want.

Come up with a snazzy marketing name for the cases. You might want to coincide with the Super Street Fighter 4 release for best sales. Build Hype. Truly market it as Limited edition one time production. Before going into full production make a pre-order list where they actually have to put down money and only make a few more than what you expect to sell.
On another random note I had a nightmare where I hosted a Street Fighter Tournament at my house and when it was done everybody stole all my arcade sticks and all of my videogames systems where gone.
People have no dignity
Just chiming in real quickly, NHTran already approached me with his case and I made a plexi for it some time back. But since there wasn’t any new production going on, I didn’t add the plexi option to my site. If NHTran decides to make another production run I’ll be happy to make the plexi available =).
And while it’s understandable with people wanting it for a lower price, it’s really one of those things you have to see to believe. When I had his case for plexi sizing, I didn’t want to let it go, lol. Had I more time to install my own pcbs at that time, I would’ve snatched one of his cases and it would be worth every penny.
These are one of those high quality items that is considered more of luxury, so it may not be for everyone. But it is definitely worth it when you see it in person. Particularly the colored ones, love the blue one.
Wait what? ALL of your arcade sticks were stolen? even the ones you bought from me? PM me.
Prior to my decision of not continuing the mfg of these cases, I was working w/ Arthrong so that he can provide the artwork & plexi for my cases. I felt that a case like mine should have teh flexibility of taking advantage of Arthrong’s offering… For those who wants to add graphics or a custom plexi, talk to ART since he can make those for you.
In regards to possibly doing a 2nd run we’ll have to wait and see.
Thanks all.
